SCP-4XXX during initial containment.
Item #: SCP-4XXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4XXX is kept in a standard low security containment locker at Site-98. No other containment procedures are necessary. SCP-4XXX is kept in a standard Euclid class container on Site-98, SCP-4XXX must be kept on surveillance 24/7.
Description: SCP-4XXX appears to be a hearing aid of unknown brand. SCP-4XXX's anomalous property only takes place on sapient entities.
When SCP-4XXX is worn, the person will begin to proclaim how much more efficient their hearing is, and they will want to wear SCP-4XXX longer. The longer the person wears SCP-4XXX their hearing will slowly increase to eventually be unbearable. When the person attempts to remove SCP-4XXX, it will remain in the persons ear. All attempts to remove SCP-4XXX have failed. At its final stage, wearer's described SCP-4XXX's sound by making examples such as "The sound of a pin falling sounds like a bomb falling." The final stage of SCP-4XXX will remain until the wearer passes away from SCP-4XXX. SCP-4XXX was shown to be removed when the wearer passes away.
SCP-4XXX was discovered in a abandoned apartment complex in [REDACTED] South Carolina. SCP-4XXX was brought to Foundation attention when civilians reported a high frequency sound coming from the complex. Foundation retrieved SCP-4XXX at █:██AM on █████ 13th, 20██.
Test A - 5/15/2016
Procedure: D-6382 wearing SCP-4XXX, Dr. Green stands 4 feet in front of D-6382 holding a sewing pin.
Results: . Once the pin hits the ground of the containment cell, D-6382 collapses. SCP-4XXX was removed and D-6382's ears were shown heavily losing blood. D-6382 pronounced dead.
Analysis: Dr. Green proclaims "This test was shown to be very interesting, although we will try to find a way to be able to remove SCP-4XXX before its final stage occurs. Another test must be preformed.
Test B - 6/1/2016
Procedure: D-9989 wearing SCP-4XXX, Dr. Green stands 10 feet in front of D-9989 holding a soccer ball.
Results: . Once the soccer ball hits the ground of the containment cell, D-9989 collapses and starts convulsing on the ground before dying seconds later. SCP-4XXX was removed and D-9989's ears, eyes and mouth were shown heavily losing blood. D-9989 pronounced dead.
Analysis: Dr. Green proclaims "Well, we've found something new and interesting about SCP-4XXX, different effects on the subject seem to happen when the object being dropped is heavier in mass. After this test, SCP-4XXX's object class may have to be moved up to Euclid.
Addendum [4XXX-001]: After the tests with SCP-4XXX were carried out, it was determined that SCP-4XXX is more dangrous then the Foundation thought, therefore, SCP-4XXX's Object Class has been moved up to Euclid.
