Currently secured by being trapped in an antarctic ice and surrounded by a fleet of foundation ships that are set to fire on any ships that make it out of the ice. Something something climate change will unleash ghost nukes on the world so watch out!
Description:
Massive fleet of "abandoned" but still functional warships and boats, with a few that aren't supposed to exist, that roam the far oceans surrounded by a cloud of mist. The ships have no visible crews and are all in a state of severe disrepair but continue to move and function as if they were fully operational. They are hostile to any and all life that enters their "kill zone" which is marked by the misty area around the fleet and will fire upon both ocean and air based craft.
Attempts to destroy these ships has proven unsuccessful, as while it's possible to damage the ships physically, anything short of total obliteration will fail to prevent the ships from moving.
The Fleet of Ghosts seems to "steal" military ships and subsume them into its fleet, and is accountable for several missing military vessels including two Soviet nuclear submarines, meaning that the fleet may be capable of launching nuclear strikes.
