Early History:

On a parallel world where history would branch around the time of 183 BC, a girl was born 82 years prior to an outcast mother and father. Exiled from their tribe for submitting themselves to the dark arts and worship of shunned gods they lived alone in the woods. Her parent's when they would travel the villages to trade would only find spits and insults instead of trade and goods. Their efforts in sheltering the child from the harsh reality of their exile were effective as they eked out a meager but sustainable life from both hunting and foraging within the cold northern forest.

A few years have passed since her birth, she would take under the tutelage of her parents. Learning the art of survival as well as shamanism from both her guardians. It would be around this time where the entity known as the Witch would be spawned.

Tribes from the area have begun to merge and unite, threats from Roman incursions to the south as well tribal shamanic elders fueled the fervor of men that sympathizers and heretics are the cause of this imperial cloud threatening to envelop their lands. This caused many tribes folk to spread paranoia throughout the region, and their first victims would in this haze of purges would those living in outskirts far removed from the towns circles.

Gothic tribes warriors accompanied by a shaman whom learned of the family's presence by children telling tales of an incestuous couple speaking to Roman scouts for pouches of tremissis(coinage). Such a tale would be enough to warrant a visit by the axemen but the added tales of dark worship of a deity would now spark the ire of the shaman who would put the home and the family to the berserkers torch.

Their travel would not take them long, no more than three days in fact that they would find the simple cottage. The father having noticed them dashed for his woman and child and warned them of the impending horde. Her mother knowing trying to flee would be fruitless instead sent her daughter a distance away to hide as she and her mate confronted the men.

Accused of both heretical and traitorous assertion the axemen butchered the father and the mother hanged then set alight along with the cottage and livestock, claiming them to be tainted by cursed magics.

The child would see this and hear every utterance exchanged. It was this that formed her deep unrelenting resentment towards religious and spiritual belief. A hatred that would fuel her path in her adult life.

Rise to prominence:

It is estimated to be around the age of sixteen that the subject would having mastered the rituals and incantations from her mother's tome that she would finally make first contact with a dark god. Details of the meeting would be speculative but upon ending the girl having exiting her tent, would come to possess both an ageless beauty along with a wealth of spells to utilize on behalf of the elder god.

Mere decades after the fall and sacking of Carthage, the Roman Empire was hitting a new stride. The empire spread its reach from North Africa all the way towards the east. And it was here the subject would make a name for themselves. She would use the conflicts with the east as her means of building her credibility and empire.

Sadly for Rome, Caesar's military adventurism has left he and his empire struggling. The Punic Wars exhausted the legions ranks which just decades is still recovering. Even the vast Carthaginian coffers were being stretched to the limit with constant excursions towards the east risking conflict with their vast Muslim neighbors.

So it was through this weakness that the Witch(As the subject will now be referred to as) exploited. Seeing the thinned ranks of the legions barely able to control even meager Jewish settlements along with an upstart gathering of peasants forming in the desert regions she made a gambit and appeared before the Roman senate with her retinue of monstrous guards whom towered over men and who's steps would shake the marbled floors of the gilded halls of the great empire's seat.

Offering her services as a mercenary, she would conjure an army such as those of her entourage for no more than the usual rate of a highly trained archer unit from Persia. While counselors and senators objected the Caesar was intrigued, mostly due to the value proposition.

Many campaigns later the Witch and her army would grow in collection numbering into the 100,000s, a sizeable force to rival even the legendary Hannibal Barca during the height of the Second Punic War. While the twilight years of the great Caesar comes to a close, dying of old age rather than by dagger in this timeline. Her influence within the chambers became as solid as the columns which held the high ceilings of the senate.

With a new leader taking Caesar's place, she pledged her loyalty and army to him and through this union of convenience would civil war be averted and in it's place conquest of the eastern and far northern territories. At least her chance for revenge has come. While it's taken her more than 2 lifetimes to achieve the Witch will finally have her reckoning upon the tribes and most of all the shaman castes.

113 BC and 596 AD Period: Rise of an Emperor, the fall of the Barbarians

While the Roman legion emboldened and supported by their super-natural ally in addition to not having to suffer a civil war unlike our prime timeline, remained in great numbers. Numbers which were used with brutal effectiveness against the tribes of barbarians to the north and east. Here the Romans would see a new vigor from their unholy ally, one of greater brutality than ever witnessed. Men and officers who would bear sight of it would find themselves shaken by the horrific displays and grotesqueries in the battlefields which would be littered by carpets of tribesmen and women warriors after the battles.

It was through these campaigns that begun a slow cracking of the Witch's union with the Empire. The current leader a young idealistic Marcus Antonius would come to learn of the atrocities through his scribes entrenched with the armies. The wheels have turned inside Antonius's mind, for the longest time he sought excuse to purge the Roman Empire of her unholy visitor and now he has an excuse to present to the senate.

For months the young leader would debate with the senate to purge the ranks of the Witch's "befouling and debase" army. But it was his final speech arguing that her continued presence would only serve to be a stain in Roman history, clouding the glory and light of Rome with her existence that it was decided to banish the Witch from Roman territory.

Surprisingly The Witch amicably departed the empire without so much as a growl from her monsters. She knew something of course. The ambition of Octavius and his rivalry with Marcus. Months prior her spies have informed her of the growing hostility of her presence and imminent banishment by the more puritanical of the senate.

Seeing this she cultivated a relationship with Octavius, promising him her loyalty should she be protected under his care. An offer the man who would be known through history as Augustus would be all too eager to take.

During a particularly humid summer night a weary Marcus, fresh from an exhausting senate meeting returns to his chamber where he is met with a number of Infiltrator Beasts. Creatures who's towering but hunched forms and nails as long as daggers, whom for many years now have been utilized by the Witch as both her spy and back-line assassination force in battles. Have now found themselves under the behest of her ally Octavius, were all too glad to slaughter the once idealistic leader along with every loyalist that horrid evening.

Now his primary rival finally eliminated Octavius would ascend to great prominence, through both treachery and force the man who would be known as Augustus would become the first Emperor of Rome. With the Witch reaping the benefits of a powerful and influential ally at her side.

The great schism

It is upon here where this Earth's history varies wildly from ours in the prime universe. The Roman Empire did not fall until the year 1351 AD where in our timeline is the date where The Black Death spread much throughout Europe killing millions.

Powerful as the Witch was, she cannot fight against a sickness that befell her mortal allies and there she sat in her fortress estate in what was the ancient village of her parent's persecutors, helpless as she witnessed the empire crumble and fall into chaos and civil war. Knowing such a event cannot be taken advantage of without drawing the ire of the remaining world she withdrew herself and her forces further west across the frozen seas.

There she would find the cold northern tundras of what would be known as the North Americas. She would hide and build up her forces there, enslaving the indigenous peoples to use both as servants and as sacrifices to her dark god now that without wars to fight she is unable to sate hunger of her god with the deaths of thousands of warriors every battle.

A single battle numbering in the loses of 16,000 would satisfy the hunger of the beast for years, but now with no battles to fight and only meager natives to toss into the hungering maw, she found herself under pressure to find conflicts to insert herself into.

The new world

So fortuitous that explorers began to travel across the seas and colonize the new world, she would use this opportunity of their rivalry and sow discord and conflicts forcing the many european nations to send more forces.

Rather than waste with pretense of loyalty, she in her growing desperation to feed her true master sent her legions to make work of armies that have found themselves setting foot upon the eastern soil of the Americas.

What was once the new world became the cursed lands, as fewer and fewer ships dared cross the seas to only be assailed by the horrors lurking in the wretched grounds of the dark continent. The deaths of thousands of colonists and their guards proved to satisfy the god if only for barely a decade till the rumblings began to grow again, and with that the aching pit of her stomach began to feel heavy knowing she would have to act soon.

She personally led armies and vessels to invade the southern continents, enslaving the peoples of the great south. Curiously she would come to find a peoples who's blood rituals almost mirroring her own. Rather than outright obliterate the peoples she would use them as her agents and morph their belief system to that which worships her god instead.

Through the use of these peoples would learn to value indigenous races and rather than use them as chattel slaves turn them into useful agents and worshipers to increase the influence and power of her gods presence on the world.

Modern day

Centuries have past and theirs is a world that has turned a very different corner. Technological development grew to the same pace as our and they did suffer a great industrial war. (Four in fact) All of which jump started their advancement in sciences and technology two decades ahead of our own.

The Witch remained in her region of the world till about 1996 where the world growing more and more hungry for resources desperately united and fought her with a grand army. She herself was nearly captured buy Foundation equivalent forces who unlike ours do no remain a clandestine organization but instead act as a united nations peacekeeping force.

With her army shattered, god banished, and she herself isolated from him, the Witch was left alone in a world that out grew her. It would only be a matter of time of course that she would come to learn that our excursions to her world led to her fall.

We in our attempts to retrieve and contain SCPs came into contact with our contemporaries in the other reality and with carefully monitored discussions came to an agreement to help them with their impending conflict with the Witch and we contain her for them.

This agreement of course did not go completely as planned as aforementioned of her escaping capture. It is also unknown who leaked her the information that it was our world's Foundation that gave her enemies the tools and knowledge to help defeat her.

Current activities

Because of this she has intermittently appeared in our world utilizing military gear and tactics augmented with her centuries of witchcraft. How the subject got here we are unable to ascertain but it is likely due to rogue operatives feeding information as well as other objects to aid her in crossing over. Whatever the case maybe, her continued harassment of our agents and operations has proven to be a thorn if at thankfully rare occurrence.

Short update

Approximately 02:36 in the morning of November 23 2018 in a London parking structure, she was last seen giving a package to known Chaos Insurgent operatives. Currently it's unknown what her connection is with their organization but it is critical we increase monitoring levels for this subject.
