Item # : SCP-4891
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-4891 after leaving the desert in ████████, Arizona.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4891 is contained at Site 14. In addition, SCP-4891 is always to be kept in a 10m x 10m x 10m metallic glass cell that contains an approximate 20 decimeter layer of silicon dioxide (sand) throughout the cell. The only place in the cell that does not contain silicon dioxide (sand) is in the █████████ corner of the cell which is to been frequently filled with fresh sea water. This seawater is to be filled every 2 weeks by one D-Class personnel wearing a Level B HAZMAT suit. SCP-4891 is to be given fresh seashells to calm it while the water is being replaced. If the seashells don’t work into calming SCP-4891 down it will be threatened with the possible suction of the vacuum cleaners. It also will have at least one site security personnel always on stand by equipped with a high suction vacuum cleaner and a Level A HAZMAT suit to counter an immediate breach.
In the case of a possible breach, Site 14 has installed 4 vacuum cleaners inside of SCP-4891 cell to hopefully contain the breach before it has even begun. If in the case of a breach outside of the cell, and the in-cell vacuum cleaners prove to be inadequate to contain SCP-4891 there is a total of 8 vacuum cleaners in the secondary containment layer for SCP-4891 that will activate when it is confirmed that SCP-4891 has breached the first containment layer. These vacuums have been proven to contain any possible breaches of SCP-4891 with a success rate of ██%.
If both stages of containment fail all security personnel will be provided with a high suction vacuum cleaner and a Level B HAZMAT suit to contain SCP-4891. Once SCP-4891-II is separated from any silicon dioxide (sand) it will be transported back to its cell by a site personal wearing a Level A HAZMAT suit. If SCP-4891 is still agitated after being replaced into its cell it will be given seashells by a D-Class wearing a Level B HAZMAT suit in attempts to calm it. Any Site Personnel that came in an approximate ██m radius of SCP-4891 are to be immediately put into isolation and to be medically scanned multiple times a day for symptoms related to SCP-4891-II.
Description: From research, the foundation can confirm that SCP-4891 is completely made out of silicon dioxide (sand) besides a 5cm x 5cm hard material that is always found at the center of SCP-4891 no matter what the size of it is. This 5cm x 5cm object is confirmed to be made out of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Those who came in contact with SCP-4891-II that inhaled near it died within 5 days of the first encounter with it. It is presumed that SCP-4891 sapience lies inside this object made out of [DATA EXPUNGED]. This object is known as SCP-4891-II. SCP-4891 will always attempt to presume a humanoid figure no matter it’s size. SCP-4891 can grow to about 9m before it will stop growing if in a calm state. SCP-4891 grows through pulling silicon dioxide (sand) on itself where the silicon dioxide (sand) will build around SCP-4891-II. If in an agitated state for any reason SCP-4891 has been seen to grow to [DATA EXPUNGED] before gaining incredible strength that can rip through ████████.
Upon when SCP-4891 reached a size of [DATA EXPUNGED] in ███████, Arizona. SCP-4891 created an incredible sandstorm that was about 330m high in which ████ perished. The perished were said to have died from a synthetic chemical titled [DATA EXPUNGED] created by the American government and military for biological warfare.
SCP-4891-II was supposedly formed by a synthetic chemical sometime during 19██ when the American Military was doing testing of a new biological weapon over Hawaii. It is still unknown how SCP-4891-II gained sapience, or how it’s intelligence works. Many speculate, that it gained it's sapience and intelligence when it is thought to have traveled under the ocean before reaching mainland America.
Doctors have not been able to make SCP-4891 able to speak yet, but many doctors believe that has the capability to speak. The only sounds it has made have been caveman-like grunts. This theory is the reason why Doctors regularly give SCP-4891 seawater, in hopes that when it was assumed to have gained its sapience and intelligence that the water may have played a key role in doing so. So they believe that SCP-4891’s intelligence can continue to develop with time. All they have been able to get from it so far were a few written letters when it was handed a notepad and pen. Ongoing investigations are still happening regarding any death related to the [DATA EXPUNGED] chemical in the past 70 years.
On a final note, SCP-4891 was said to have possibly made contact with SCP-165 was when recovered after the sandstorm in ███████, Arizona there was reminisce of SCP-165 found in ███████, Arizona shortly after the sandstorm. Leaving researchers to believe that SCP-4891 and SCP-165 made contact at some point, and so of SCP-165 was attracted to SCP-4891-II even though it is not really silicon dioxide (sand). This is the only instance known that SCP-4891 was made of anything other than silicon dioxide (sand) and [DATA EXPUNGED].
Addendum:
An interview conducted by Doctor ██████ and SCP-4891
BEGIN LOG
Dr. ██████: Are you capable of speaking currently 4891?
SCP-4891: [[No Reply]]
Dr. ██████: 4891 answer me.
SCP-4891: [[Crackly Voice]] Nnnnnnnnn
Dr. ██████: 4891 yes or no? If you fail to comply we will not give you any more seashells in the near future.
SCP-4891: [[No Reply appears incredibly frustrated]]
Dr. ██████: I’m done cut the interview and don’t let 4891 have any more seashells for █ hours.
SCP-4891: [[Appears to start growing in size from agitation]] [[Makes very loud grunting noise]] [[SCP-4891 then bashes it’s fist through the door knocking it off its hinges and appears to attack Dr. ██████ and all other Site Personnel near him]] *Screams*Dr. ████: (Second in command researcher for interview) [[Presses the warning button that signals 4891 has breached through its first containment zone before getting attacked by 4891]] *Screams*
END LOG
[[After this point SCP-4891 proceeds to breach through the secondary containment zone which sets off breach alarms, Site 14 goes into a site-wide breach status. This activates stage 3 containment methods. SCP-4891 is recontained after ██ minutes. Due to this breach SCP-4891’s cell is outfitted with 12 new high suction vacuum cleaners.]]
Experiment Logs:
3/25/████: SCP-4891 is moved into the room with a single vacuum cleaner. The vacuum is turned on, but only 20% of SCP-4891 is pulled into the vacuum. Reported size before the experiment - 9 meters.
3/31/████: SCP-4891 is moved into the room with two vacuum cleaners. The vacuum is turned on, but 50% of SCP-4891 is pulled into the vacuum. Reported size before the experiment - 9 meters.
4/15/████: SCP-4891 is moved into a room with four vacuum cleaners. The vacuum cleaner is turned on, and 100% of SCP-4891 is pulled into it. Reported size before the experiment - 9 meters.
10/27/████: SCP-4891-II is placed into a 1m x 1m of silicon dioxide (sand), SCP-4891-II takes on all of the silicon dioxide (sand) in 500 milliseconds.
1/15/████: SCP-4891-II is placed into a 1m x 1m of 98% silicon dioxide and 2% polydimethylsiloxane (magnetic sand), that is naturally found on ██████████████, Hawaii. SCP-4891-II appears to take on this 98% silicon dioxide and 2% polydimethylsiloxane (magnetic sand) much slower than regular silicon dioxide (sand) that is been previously experimented on. After 2 minutes SCP-4891-II was successfully able to distinguish the polydimethylsiloxane from the silicon dioxide (sand). After 5 minutes, SCP-4891-II took on all of the silicon dioxide (sand) present in the 1m x 1m square, and not the polydimethylsiloxane.
3/9/████: Request to experiment with SCP-4891 on SCP-165 is accepted by O5-█.
4/14/████: Researchers of SCP-4891 import 1L of SCP-165 for testing on SCP-4891.
4/17/████: Researchers of SCP-4891 construct an isolated bowl in which they place SCP-165 into for testing. SCP-4891-II is placed into the 1L bowl, and it is able to take on all of SCP-165 in approximately 5 milliseconds. This proves that SCP-4891 is more compatible with SCP-165 than silicon dioxide (sand).
6/28/████: Request to experiment with SCP-4891 and SCP-440 is denied by O5-█.
