Object Class: Safe.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4XXX is to be kept in the Hazardous & Dangerous Items storage at Site-48 along with all other related instances. It may only be accessed by Head Researcher Dr. Brian Anderson with written approval from any O-5 Council member. It is to be monitored by security staff daily for any disturbances.

MTF Epsilon-5 "Time Police" are to monitor for activity relating to the frequencies emitted by SCP-4XXX instances around the world. MTF Epsilon-5 are to deploy within twelve hours to any location where such frequencies are found. Any persons carrying or currently using SCP-4XXX instances are to be considered hostile and are to be contained with lethal force. Any instances of SCP-4XXX or instances similar to SCP-4XXX-2, SCP-4XXX-3, and SCP-4XXX-4 found are to be contained in a similar manner as detailed above.

Because of the nature of SCP-4XXX's origin, there is currently no method for quantifying the number of instances that exist or could possibly exist. As such, full containment of SCP-4XXX and its users is not possible at this time.

Description: SCP-4XXX is a disk shaped object comprised of unknown metals measuring 13.4874cm in diameter and is 2cm thick. In appearance and touch, the object most resembles stainless steel. Hardness tests using the Knoop hardness test has revealed an HK value of 6900.¹

SCP-4XXX's anomalous properties occur when held by a human being and is otherwise inert. The object allows its user to traverse time and space. Tests with Dr. Brian Anderson have confirmed the effect is catalyzed by human thought when held. This involves concentration revolving around a person, exact time, and place. These tests have also proven that focusing on deceased persons will place the individual using SCP-4XXX into a reality where that person is still alive. These realities are usually very similar to our own, with only slight deviations.

Before the user is transported in time and space, certain frequencies are emitted at both the origin and destination of SCP-4XXX. These waves are now named Andersonian waves in honor of Dr. Anderson who achieved the discovery. Andersonian waves are observed as errors in other sound-based listening equipment and cause static in analog radios.

The object was confiscated after the detention of the object's user, who will hereby be referred to in this document as SCP-4XXX-1. SCP-4XXX-1 was detained after using SCP-4XXX, SCP-4XXX-2, SCP-4XXX-3, and SCP-4XXX-4 to carry out a series of murders across multiple decades spanning the years 19██ and 20██. Refer to Incident Report 14142.1 for information regarding these events. For information regarding the non-anomalous technology found on SCP-4XXX-1, refer to Item Log 22214.

Item: SCP-4XXX-2
Description: SCP-4XXX-2 appears to be black metallic segments designed to affix to a user's arm. The plates are inert after removal from SCP-4XXX-1. Before containment, SCP-4XXX-2 appears to be the main means that SCP-4XXX-1 carried out its various murders. When in use, SCP-4XXX-1 appears to draw in residual energy from the surrounding atmosphere to fire a beam of up to 200 kilowatt radiation.

Item: SCP-4XXX-3
Description: SCP-4XXX-3 is a form-fitting suit made of a black polymer which hardens upon kinetic impact. The suit automatically adjusts to its wearer's dimensions. It absorbs heat and insulates the wearer against temperature change. The technology utilized in the creation of SCP-4XXX-3 appears to be "dumb", unaware of its user's identity unlike SCP-4XXX-2 and SCP-4XXX-4. Foundation researchers are currently attempting to reverse engineer the material that makes up SCP-4XXX-3.

Item: SCP-4XXX-4
Description: Similar to SCP-4XXX-2, these are black segments of metal which appear to affix to the wearer's fingers. Like SCP-4XXX-2, these are inert since removal from SCP-4XXX-1. Scattered reports of usage by SCP-4XXX-1 reveal that these function as highly adaptable tool used for cutting, suturing, or even cooking.

Incident Location: ██████, Poland
Incident Date: ██/██/1939
Incident Report: During the occupation of Poland, a few dozen professors, doctors, and religious leaders had been rounded up outside of the city ██████. Several members of the NSDAP's paramilitary arm, the Schutzstaffel, were about to engage in a mass killing. Eye-witness accounts of the event describe a sleek, black-clad figure emerge out of thin air. No Schutzstaffel members survived. The Polish survivors would later serve important roles in the Polish resistance and post-war reconstruction efforts.

Incident Location: ██████, Cambodia
Incident Date: ██/██/19██
Incident Report: Multiple members of the Communist Party of Kampuchea in Cambodia are murdered the night before a planned purging of a local village. A reported sixty-two deaths result from SCP-4XXX-1's involvement. SCP-4XXX-1 directly involves itself by warning the village, giving them detailed instructions how to flee to the neighboring Thailand and further into Myanmar. It is not currently known why SCP-4XXX-1 did not prevent other mass-killings relating to the Cambodian genocide.

Incident Location: ██████, Indonesia
Incident Date: ██/██/19██
Incident Report: SCP-4XXX-1 arrives moments before nearly a hundred suspected communists are executed two kilometers south of ██████. SCP-4XXX-1 murders eighty-nine individuals before disappearing. Political killings in the area cease for two months, for fear of attracting the attention of SCP-4XXX-1. After the administration of Class-B Amnesics the killings resumed. SCP-4XXX-1 did not materialize again.

Incident Location: ██████, Mexico
Incident Date: ██/██/20██
Incident Report: Members of the ██ █████ Cartel had kidnapped a number of university students. After receiving ransom, the kidnappers intended to execute their charges regardless. SCP-4XXX-1 arrived to interrupt the executions as normal. MTF Epsilon-5 deployed after detecting the newly discovered Andersonian waves from the location of SCP-4XXX-1's involvement. MTF Epsilon-5 attempted to eliminate SCP-4XXX-1. It was not understood that normal high-velocity ballistics would merely incapacitate SCP-4XXX-1 while it wore SCP-4XXX-3. Acting field commander chose to detain SCP-4XXX-1 for further questioning, transporting him to local Site ███ for detainment.

After SCP-4XXX-1 transportation to a temporary holding cell at Site ███, Dr. Brian Anderson conducted an interview seeking more information about the subject's origin and the origin of SCP-4XXX.

Foreword: Interview was conducted on January 4th, 20██. The interview occurs approximately one hour after SCP-4XXX-1 regained consciousness.

Dr. Brian Anderson: This interview is being conducted at ██:██. Subject appears to be conscious. Let's see if he's willing to answer questions. Can you speak English?

SCP-4XXX-1: Cute, Doc. Real cute. This is all formality, you know that right? The outcome was decided the moment your people brought me into this place. But yes, I speak English. And twenty-four other languages related to this time. Wanna talk in Spanish?

Dr. Brian Anderson: I am not here to engage you, I am here to determine your reasoning if any and to the extent of the danger you and the object you use pose to both reality and humanity. So, English is fine for now.

SCP-4XXX-1: Fucking spare me. I'm the danger here? You people have all this power yet you're letting murderers, rapists, and war criminals run around. No, no actually its even worse than that you people work with them. To get what you want. Your bosses are worse than anyone I've dealt justice on.

Dr. Brian Anderson: Well then, why don't you do something about it.

SCP-4XXX-1: Oh, trust me. If I knew their names I would. But those secrets aren't something kept around, even inside of the Foundation. Yeah, I'm aware who you are. I work for you, or did, in my time.

Dr. Brian Anderson: Be that as it may, if that Foundation is anything resembling this one then your usage of SCP-4XXX would warrant nothing less than expulsion and arrest.

SCP-4XXX-1: My Foundation evolved. It grew out of this archaic shell it languishes in now.

Dr. Brian Anderson: If my theories are correct, then you're not just moving in time but also changing dimensions. Meaning that the people you are exacting justice on are not, in fact, the same people who committed those crimes in your time. Not to mention, you enacted justice before their crimes actually occurred.

SCP-4XXX-1: Fuck off. They were going to commit those crimes minutes before I stepped in. I'm not going back in time to kill people that will disrupt the timeline either. I was deliberate, considerate, and I know what I was doing. I took out people who deserved it, who contributed nothing positive.

Dr. Brian Anderson: You realize that you are using a fantastical device with limitless application and possibilities with the same utility as a particularly sharp rock. Perhaps we can conduct a second interview soon after you've had time to think your situation over. Then we can discuss how you use SCP-4XXX.

SCP-4XXX-1: Wait wait wait just a damn minute. Don't have to use baby's first interrogation technique on me. Aren't you interested in how people of the future, of my dimension, eliminated the dangerous SCPs?

Dr. Brian Anderson: Excuse me?

SCP-4XXX-1: Yeah. Look, I know how you people work. I'm not anomalous. I know you'll sooner dissect me than treat me like a fucking person. So - a deal. I give you elimination procedures in exchange for certain, privileges. I know I'm not getting out of here unless something goes horribly wrong.

Dr. Brian Anderson: I am not authorized to make any such arrangements.

SCP-4XXX-1: Bullshit you aren't. Come on. I know you're interested. Don't you want to know how to stop SCP-███ from spreading? Maybe how to finally kill SCP-███? Oh, how about-

Dr. Brian Anderson: Enough. I'm not in the mood to make deals, especially with criminals abusing reality for their own pleasure. Until next time, SCP-4XXX-1.

SCP-4XXX-1: You'll be back. I know you will.

Closing Statement: Exactly 332 seconds after Dr. Anderson had departed the detention cell, an individual holding another instance of SCP-4XXX in its right hand appeared. The individual yelled "Für Kalergi!" before executing a modern Roman salute. SCP-4XXX-1 began pleading in German, but was abruptly cut off when the individual's version of SCP-4XXX-2 fired a blast of kinetic energy into SCP-4XXX's skull, killing him instantaneously. Shortly after this, the unidentified individual used SCP-4XXX to depart before security could apprehend it.
