Special Containment Procedures: The vent grate is to be kept in a five foot by five foot room, with minimal contract allowed.
Description: SCP-4502 was found in the rural southern area of ████, ███████████. Locals passed on legends of a "Vent that would eat your fingers," and upon inspection, the vent grate was marked with traffic cones and crude warning signs. The duct underneath the vent held five human fingers, all of which were taken from local civilians.
The Vent resembles a standard house air conditioning vent with slots spaced widely enough to allow an average human finger to fit inside. Subjects have noted a strange desire to insert their index finger into one of the aforementioned slots. Upon inserting their finger, the slots close quickly, cleanly bisecting the finger from the middle phalange. The subject will then react accordingly, and immediately lose any desire to be near the grate.
It is to be noted that the vent will not react to anything not -living or- finger-shaped, with a preference towards human fingers. After further testing, the grate cut a finger from an artificial hand.
The grate will always cut from the exact middle point on any given digit, down to the micrometer. It is unsure how the grate measures so efficiently.
