Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: The building containing SCP-XXXX has been purchased by the Foundation and hereby designated as Site-1501C. A security perimeter patrolled by level 2 agents is to be maintained during evening hours. Any civilian attempting to enter SCP-XXXX must be turned away under pretense of trespassing. In order to prevent SCP-XXXX from translocating, O5 personnel have approved of the continued daytime operations of Site-1501C. In the event SCP-XXXX translocates itself from the site, all staff assigned to Site-1501C are to immediately execute
With the collected data from SCP-XXXX, the Foundation has surmised the ideal protocol in the event SCP-XXXX translocates. It is hypothesized that SCP-XXXX prefers buildings with a Victorian style structure and with at least one sub level and two to three floors. Upon the anomaly's translocation, all site personnel are to search for any listing that matches the above criteria.
During daytime operating hours (from 7AM - 8PM local time), civilians are permitted to enter. Staff and civilians must exit SCP-XXXX no later than 8 PM local. Anyone within SCP-XXXX during non-operating hours are considered lost and no rescue attempts are to be made.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-A must have their vitals checked once-daily and may not be removed from SCP-XXXX without clearance from level 4 Site Director. A population count of SCP-XXXX-A is to be conducted daily. In the event of a new instance, it is to be reported to level 4 Site director to implement
This protocol is to be issued by Level 4 Site Director upon the discovery of a new instance of SCP-XXXX-A. Upon being issued, site personnel are to review security footage from the past week and search for any person who resembles the new SCP-XXXX-A. Upon discovering the person, an identification search is to be implemented. Once the identity of SCP-XXXX-A has been surmised, all information of the subject is to be immediately collected and removed from the public
Description: SCP-XXXX is located inside a two-story Victorian home in Arcata, California. The building and lawn, designated Site-1501C, are in excellent condition and only require minimal maintenance care. Above the front door is a simple wooden sign that reads "Kipling's Arts". Looking through any of the windows reveal an unoccupied home decorated with 19th century furniture. Those entering SCP-XXXX through any means will find themselves in a four-story museum, yet will be unaware of the difference in size. The size, shape, and number of rooms on each floor vary as SCP-XXXX has the capability of shifting the layout of each floor once - monthly.
SCP-XXXX houses a population of indestructible male statues, designated SCP-XXXX-A, that appear to replicate Ancient Grecian sculptures. A thermal scan revealed heat signatures coming from these statues, thorough testing and investigation led researchers to conclude that SCP-XXXX-A are civilians held under stasis.
SCP-XXXX-A is known to possess a unique antimemetic property; individuals within SCP-XXXX-A instances are forgotten completely by relatives and visitors of SCP-XXXX. This was first observed during the initial investigation of SCP-XXXX. Initially, it was believed that the investigation team who entered SCP-XXXX consisted of six members. However security footage from body cameras indicated that the team consisted of a seventh member. Despite video evidence and the agent's file being present in the Foundation's database, no one on the team knew of the agent's existence.
Interviewed: Captain ████
Interviewer: Dr. ███████
Foreword: The following is an audio interview with Captain ████ of the investigation team for SCP-XXXX. Names redacted as per Dr. ███████'s usual request.
<Begin Log>
Dr. ███████: Captain.
Captain ████: Doc.
Dr. ███████: Would you be so kind as to tell me who this is?
Captain ████: [PAUSE] Um…I'm sorry. But I don't recognize them.
Dr. ███████: Interesting. [SHUFFLING PAPERS] Captain, could you tell us how many agents were with you during your initial investigation of anomaly?
Captain ████: Including myself, the team consisted of six members.
Dr. ███████: Six?
Captain ████: If you want to be technical, we did have two additional members in the van monitoring our equipment. But only the six of us entered the building, Ma'am.
Dr. ███████: Interesting. [PAUSE] Captain, are you familiar with an Agent ██████?
Captain ████: Um…No, I'm sorry, but I'm not. Are they a new agent?
Dr. ███████: [PAUSE] Captain ████, these photos were taken from the footage recorded by your team's body-cams. Do you recognize the man in each?
Captain ████: I…what? No, that can't be right. I'm sorry, Ma'am, but he wasn't in the area or in the building. I've never seen [SHUFFLING PAPER] What is this?
Dr. ███████: This was taken last week with your team. Agent ██████ can clearly be seen with you and your team. Are you sure you don't know him? He's been listed as having been apart of your team for the last three years. [PAUSE] Captain? [PAUSE] Captain?
Dr. ███████: I was asking about Agent ██████. [PAUSE] The man in the picture? Do you remember, Captain ████?
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Subsequent interviews with the rest of the team held the same results. Interviews with the surveillance team held a similar result.
Initially, since only those who had visited SCP-XXXX had their memories of Agent ██████ erased, it was believed that SCP-XXXX's anmestic properties only worked on those within the building. However, this was disproved when Agent ██████'s family was informed of his disappearance and they had no recollection of the agent. A proceeding interview took place and the family could not be convinced of the agent's existence and instead adopted happy and optimistic behavior that continue to this day. Two days after the agent's family were informed, the agent was discovered in the foyer as a bronze instance of SCP-XXXX-A, henceforth referred as SCP-XXXX-A1.
When attempting to remove SCP-XXXX-A1 for testing, SCP-XXXX-A1's internal structure started to liquefy while the casing loses its indestructible properties. Complete liquefaction occurs after seventy-two hours, and will continue even if the victim is removed from their casing. The liquefied remains exude vanilla scented fumes. exposure to the fumes released from SCP-XXXX-A will result in behavioral changes to subjects, with exposed subjects becoming unable to distance themselves from any instance of SCP-XXXX-A and cannot see them as anything other than the people they once were.
After Incident XXXX-1, it was confirmed that SCP-XXXX-A subjects are indeed conscious while in stasis and even during liquefaction.
Initially, the Foundation attempted to prevent civilians from entering the site but, after the first day after these measurements were put into place, SCP-XXXX started to exhibit hostile behavior. The space within the anomaly began to shift and three personnel killed by being crushed between the moving walls. After three days of this behavior, SCP-XXXX's interior size began to shrink and after twelve hours the building that housed the anomaly returned to its original structure. SCP-XXXX had been believed to be exterminated until its discovery two months later in Grass Valley, California.
After the anomaly was recovered, it was discovered that the population count of SCP-XXXX-A had increased to twenty-five instances from its initial twelve instances. The Foundation attempted to use D Class personnel as patrons, but to no avail. Once again, SCP-XXXX translocated. The Foundation was able to locate SCP-XXXX to its current location after three weeks of searching. Following this, the Foundation allowed for daily admittance into SCP-XXXX in order to prevent the anomaly from changing locations again.
Incident Report Logs
Incident XXXX-1
Date: ████
Report: Incident occurred at ████. During testing of SCP-XXXX-A6 on Test Site ██, mishandling of the test subject led to it colliding with the floor. The resulting collision led to the paraffin wax casing to shattering and the partially liquefied subject to spill out. It was at this moment that the subject seemed to come out of paralysis. Subject appeared to be aware of what was occurring. Subject was conscious until complete liquefaction. During rapid liquefaction of the subject's body, fumes were expelled that resembled the scent of lavenders. Those exposed to the fumes started to exhibit duress over the loss of SCP-XXXX-A6 as well as mild hostility to those not exposed. Quarantine protocol was place in effect.
Casualties: SCP-XXXX-A6. Dylan. His name was Dylan.
