Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is housed in a standard humanoid containment at Site-17 with surveillance camera and two security guards assigned outside the containment chamber. Security level 4 clearance and higher required to enter the chamber, unless with written permission granted. In case of extreme emergency, security level 2 clearance and above may enter the chamber strictly only to request assistance of SCP-XXX to handle security breach that otherwise difficult to handle by what's available.

Note: Separated form given to containment procedure of SCP-XXX-1

Description: SCP-XXX appear to be a middle-aged Catholic Christian priest of Caucasian origin. SCP-XXX appear to always carry a Bible and an ornate wooden staff. Other than the staff that appear to be physically indestructible, SCP-XXX is completely (physically) harmless to (most of) living beings.

SCP-XXX posthumously known as the "Wandering Priest of Eternal Blessing" and several similar titles found in various languages and has adopted countless other fake identities including [REDACTED] and assumed to be connected to the real historical figure. The full extent of his origin remain unknown for the time being, although research concludes that SCP-XXX have been around since 7th century and presumably been involved in the event of [REDACTED] in Jerusalem.

Although possessing the biology and physiology of an ordinary human being, SCP-XXX hold an immense power under the guise of a religious blessing. Through what perceived as various of Christian prayers, SCP-XXX can exude nonphysical energy which visually manifest as increasing brightness in object and area, begin at low luminescent to an overwhelming brightness, potentially blinding to unprotected eyes. For lack of better word, this energy considered "holy" and affect any "unholy" beings. It is documented that SCP-XXX has performed countless successful exorcism ritual in which he (or his client) claims that he had purge "the evil" out of the place. Research concludes that this statement could be true, as the power of SCP-XXX has purged various of paranormal occurrence through extensive experiment with an astounding 97,0% success rate, provided that SCP-XXX remain undisturbed, mentally and physically.

The said energy only unleashed may SCP-XXX wills so and he appear to has an excellent control in the power. When used correctly, this energy could purify large extent of corruption and impurity from nonphysical source. As mentioned that the energy may harm "unholy" beings, demonic entities seems to receive the largest amount of damage to point of lethal threat, may they receive enough exposure to the light.

SCP-XXX passively emits a strong supernatural presence, enough to disturb other SCP from massive range depends on physical barrier present between subjects which might cause mild to severe stress depends on the mental strength of the target. This is not an anomalous effect as its effect is proven to be strictly spiritual, affecting only certain spectrum of alignment. Further research pending.

Addendum 01: Although described as spiritual, the presence affects beings that with no soul. Same goes with any other energy exuded by the subject.

SCP-XXX is cooperative in our foundation so far, possessing no hostility although security breach might allow the man to threatens other SCP within the site. Only by approval of security level 4 clearance and higher that SCP-XXX may roam outside his containment. SCP-XXX should not be allowed to comes in contact with any other SCP unless for either research purpose, or emergency case where lethal force required to handle the said SCP.

Addendum 02: A note from Dr. Rain:

In order to maintain good relationship with SCP-XXX, do not address him as "SCP-XXX" while you directly speak with him, as that will upset the him. Refer to him as "Priest" or "Sir" when conversing. He's an important asset of the Foundation and potential of Thaumiel reclassification. It would be the most ideal and beneficial if his loyalty to the Foundation remain true.

No, threatening him so that he may comply, is not a preferable choice. As long as SCP-XXX remain cooperative, we have no reason to threaten him. He's highly cooperative and shows no malevolent nature on mankind, and all that he ever ask is to be respected and appreciated for his help. Just because we did morally questionable stuff that can be considered cruel or even necessary evil, doesn't meant that we enjoy doing it. We're here to secure, contain, and protect. Not torture, murder, and abuse.

Different case with SCP-XXX-1 that's entirely hostile. Do not hesitate to dispatch heavily armed units to secure SCP-XXX-1 may they ever occurs. In case of containment breach, use excessive force to neutralize SCP-XXX-1 before it went on a rampage. We're talking about a Keter class that will blindly destroys any and all things it perceive as evil, including, us.

Notable interaction of SCP-XXX's power with another SCP:

SCP-173: The Sculpture

  • Energy Threshold: Average
  • Result: No visible effect, although there's a reaction detected within SCP-173, hinting that there's an effect, after all.

SCP-096: The Shy Guy

  • Energy Threshold: Average
  • Result: Minor damage displayed, although far from lethal. SCP-096 shows greater degree of aggression toward SCP-XXX than normally shown, almost seemingly driven by survival instinct, rather than stress or hatred.

SCP-682: The Hard-To-Destroy Reptile

  • Energy Threshold: Maximum
  • Result: Potentially lethal as SCP-682 seemingly writhes in overwhelming agony and its entire body began to disintegrate. SCP-682 seems unable to adapt itself against the energy, although it doesn't seems that SCP-XXX could entirely erase SCP-682 either. An hour after SCP-XXX left the chamber, SCP-682 fully recovers itself.

SCP-106: The Old Man

  • Energy Threshold: ???
  • Result: Experiment cancelled by order of 05 Council. It is hinted that the experiment shall be resumed in the future.

ADDENDUM XXX-AB: Incident ████ finally reveals the true self and successfully killed 23 human being; consisting of 3 staffs, 10 guards, and 10 Class-D personnel. The sheer extent of damage given to both living and nonliving makes it clear that SCP-XXX-1 is extremely dangerous. Reclassification required.
