Vexurayr

Item #: SCP-6055
Object Class: Thaumiel
Containment Procedures: This device, dubbed the Peace Agent, requires no special containment procedure, but when it is not under testing, it is ordered to be kept behind a locked door in a .5 m by .5 m, 3 ton, platinum safe, to prevent it from being stolen or carried off with while still in the safe. Only the head members of the foundation and a select few trusted researchers know the passcode.
Description: The Peace Agent device is only known to exist by the highest ranking officials connected to the SCP foundation and the researchers who've tested it. It is a living mechanical device, easily holdable, having the appearance of a thick slab of metal and plastic, roughly the size of a clipboard, with wires visable coming in and out of the slab. Near the center exists a small perforation where something red and glowing rests. There is a green and white plus painted on the lower half of the slab.
Effects: When Peace Agent comes within a 5 m radius of any hostile SCPs, they will forcibly become calm, as if it alters their minds, to the point where they are completely safe to interact with if they have been within its radius for at least 5 seconds. The effects on an SCP have been seen to last from 4 to 6 minutes after it has left the device's radius. Following one use on an SCP, or any combined number of SCPs that were in the radius at the same time, the device will enter a 2 minute cooldown once the SCP(s) has/have left the radius. If they enter and leave the radius before 5 seconds has elapsed, nothing happens to the SCP(s), but the Peace Agent still goes into its cooldown. They must be in the radius for another full 5 seconds if they re-enter for the calming effect to happen. SCPs that are sentient and have temporarily become safe due to this device's effects will willingly obey any order from someone if they are holding the device as it effects an SCP. This device has proven useful and extremely valuable, even more valuable than a human life, daresay. It has been used to keep SCPs under control when the situation was dire, and it significantly aided moving them back into their proper containment.
Additional Notes:
- Any SCP that can move faster than a human for those five seconds or is so large that its entirety cannot fit within the 5 m radius can effectively beat this device.
- Researchers are working diligently to create more of these devices so that one can be kept around every hostile SCP it works on, but the one step that is hindering them from making any progress is the inability to imbue inanimate objects with life.
- The Peace Agent has been tested against hundreds of SCPs, the most notable being SCP-106, SCP-049, SCP-914 (fear of losing the device), SCP-079 (chat messages became much friendlier), SCP-173, and SCP-939.
- Some SCPs that Peace Agent have been used on seem to have developed a general hatred towards the device, but none of them have attempted to destroy it yet. That might be because those same SCPs who were left alone with the machine and had the desire to destroy it, moved towards the device, but lost the desire to destroy it after they succumbed to its effects.
- Thanks to the strange life that flows through the device similar to a human heart, it requires no plugging into the infrastructure's grid to be recharged. It is like it simply becomes exhausted after each use.
- Researchers that reported having suicidal thoughts when placed next to the device reported they no longer had suicidal thoughts.
