Item #: SCP-6792
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6792 is to be enclosed in a small glass case within a concrete air-tight room at a temperature of exactly -42.42 °C in order to minimize anomalous effects. The temperature of the room can only fluctuate by at most +/-1.3 °C for short periods of time and only during experimentation. SCP-6792 must be kept at Site-XX to maintain reasonable proximity to XXXXXXXX and XXXX in case of emergency. A functioning grandfather clock with pendulum must also be kept in the containment chamber, any changes in the clocks speed or period of the pendulum should be immediately reported.
Description: SCP-6792 appears to be a small, green, translucent twenty(20) sided die, with no characteristics suggesting abnormal behaviour. However, SCP-6792 exhibits strange effects on the passage of time within its containment chamber, these anomalies are minimized by maintaining a room temperature of -42.42 °C. According to current observation, there are no obvious patterns to the passage of time within SCP-6792’s containment chamber, however, a faint correlation suggests increased activity near notable lunar and geological events, but the behaviour remains inconsistent. The correlation is inconclusive.
The passage of time within close proximity of SCP-6792 greatly varies in speed, and there have been two(2) major behavioural episodes in documented history at Site-XX. The first episode occurred XX/XX/196X to XX/XX/197X and has been the longest recorded succession of time effects in SCP-6792’s history at Site-XX. During each episode, rapid fluctuations in the passage of time are recorded, on XX/XX/20XX, the containment chamber began to decay at a visible rate, and the wood of the grandfather clock completely disintegrated within the span of thirteen(13) seconds. During the especially intense time anomalies, minute gravitational fluctuations can be detected.
The Foundation expresses concern regarding SCP-6792, if any form of control over the time anomalies is found, SCP-6792 presents the possibility of paradoxes.
Addendum 01-1:
In light of recent events on XX/XX/20XX, SCP-6792 has been relocated to Sector-3X of Site-XX. The new containment chamber features four(4) inch thick lead plating and three(3) foot thick concrete walls. This change was made to protect researchers within the facility, as extremely high levels of ionizing radiation were detected during the most recent behavioural anomaly. This was the first time that any radiation was detected, extreme caution is advised.
Note to staff: SCP-6792 is NOT to be used as a regular twenty(20) sided die. “I forgot my D&D dice” is NOT a valid reason for removing SCP-6792 from containment.
