Special Containment Procedures: A fenced perimeter of at least two (2) three (3) meters is to be kept around the building containing SCP-XXXX. At least four (4) armed guards with 2 years or more of cognitohazzard resistance training are to be present at the perimeter at all times with hourly rotations between staff.
Once a week, the fenced perimeter should be checked for structural damage. If damage is reported, the fenced perimeter should be repaired as soon as possible in no less than two (2) days.
Guards are to detain any person who attempts to breach the perimeter but refrain from deadly force unless absolutely necessary. The intruder should then receive class-A amnestics and sent back to their place of living. If deadly force is used, procedure XX5 is to be carried out immediately (see details below) and an incident report should be filed within 48 hours of the incident. Failure to report will result in extreme disciplinary action.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 14’x10’ dorm-style living space marked “4357” with permanent marker located in an abandoned university campus residence hall in ███████ ████, Wisconsin.
SCP-XXXX creates a cognito-hazardous field that spans two (2) meters in all directions. This area compels all humans who enter it to walk to the abandoned residence hall and into SCP-XXXX. Those with resistance to cognitohazards or who have been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder are resistant to this compulsion. Once inside SCP-XXXX, the human subject, now referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, will cease all motor functions and collapse on the floor. Removing SCP-XXXX-1 from the field of effect at this time causes SCP-XXXX to [DATA REDACTED].
After approximately two hours, SCP-XXXX-1 will stand and wander into populated areas. All who see SCP-XXXX-1 are drawn to comfort it. All humans who touch SCP-XXXX-1 while in this state will collapse and begin to cry. Affected persons will continue to cry until SCP-XXXX-1 is terminated, or until they expire of dehydration.
At sunset, SCP-XXXX-1 will return to SCP-XXXX and lay in the bed and cry. While SCP-XXXX cries, any human in a diameter of 1-2 kilometers around SCP-XXXX will begin to experience symptoms of psychotic depression. Most humans in this area report hearing sounds of a young woman crying, while mothers who have had children that have died via means of self termination will report hearing their own child or children crying. This is met by the affected humans seeking out the source of the crying, and will lead most to rooftops, cliffs, and high bridges. Once an affected human reaches one of these spots, the auditory hallucination will tempt them to jump off. Those who have had traumatic childhoods or have had a child pass are more susceptible to the hallucinations. The crying continues for three days, or until at least three (3) humans have committed suicide within the 1-2 kilometer area. After this time frame, SCP-XXXX-1 will proceed to the roof of the residence hall and jump. Any attempt to stop this process is met with [DATA REDACTED]. No bodies have ever been recovered after the jump, and research is still ongoing to locate them.
