SCP 4037 : Tourniquet Man

Item #: 4037

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

Subject is to be contained within a modified containment area comprised of a shaft, 15m deep and 5m in diameter, composed of lead-lined steel plating. Shaft is to be checked routinely for structural imperfections and/or degradation. The opening of this shaft is to be covered with a shockproof sheet of plexiglass that can be removed remotely. Additionally, the containment unit is to be equipped with necessary video and audio surveillance equipment. Due to its difficult-to-gauge memetic effects, interaction with SCP-4037 is impossible at this time. It is suggested that due to lack of knowledge of SCP-4037's full capabilities, the entity is to be monitored around the clock until more effective containment procedures can be determined.

Description:

SCP-4037 is a humanoid entity that stands over 3m tall, and weighs approximately 300 kilograms. Its limbs are proportional to its height and weight, with the exception of its skull, which protrudes a massive, cone-shaped object, with the wide brim of the cone at the top, and the point terminating halfway into SCP-4037's skull. X-rays on SCP-4037 have confirmed that this is indeed a biological component. While it appears similar to human bone, the composition is not identical.

SCP-4037's skin is a dark gray color. Its muscle mass is bulging, while appearing emaciated in its torso. X-rays show that SCP-4037 has six more ribs than a non-anomylous human, and two additional philangees on each hand. SCP-4037 has no fingernails, no toenails, and no body hair whatsoever. While possessing eye sockets, SCP-4037 has no eyes. Similarly, while it has a depression where a mouth would be, it has no oral opening, nor does it have ears.

Addendum SCP-4037-01 : Discovery

SCP-4037 was discovered during the investigation of a series of violent murders in Baghdad, amounting in thirty-four human casualties, all killed by being crushed to death, with no evidence of what had crushed them available at the murder scenes.

The only known connection between any of the victims was a shop in a derelict corner of Al-Shorjh. Investigators raided the store in search of an anomalous object. Store owner was found in a similar state as the previous human casualties, crushed to nearly a pulp behind the store counter. Foundation Field Agents left the premises and contacted Foundation HQ to request a combat team to raid the store.

Mobile Task Force Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") arrived on-site at 1700 hours and entered the premises. No seemingly anomalous objects were found, but all store contents were taken out for further examination by Foundation research personnel.

At an undisclosed research site, Researcher [DATA EXPUNGED] discovered an archaic object akin to a modern Ouija board, entirely inscribed in Akkadian (SCP-4037-a). Carbon dating determined this board to be approximately 4,000 years old. It was suspected to be anomalous, given the impossible mint condition of the board in spite of its age.

Within twenty-four hours of this discovery, Researcher [DATE EXPUNGED] was crushed to death, just as the thirty-five victims prior to him. Object classified as Euclid class and moved to secure containment at Site 51.

Addendum SCP-4037-02 : Security Breach

While SCP-4037-a was under consistent audio and video surveillance, the surveillance was not consistently monitored. During an unmonitored stretch [DATA EXPUNGED] entered containment without authorization. Upon placing his hands upon the planchette, the planchette moved to spell out T-O-U-R-N-I-Q-U-E-T M-A-N.

After this, the physicality of the humanoid entity now known as SCP-4037 generated within a span of only ten seconds, lunged [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

Following the incident, SCP-4037 was moved to its current containment shaft. Staff interaction with SCP-4037 is strictly forbidden at this time.

Addendum SCP-4037-03 : Further Activity

Once upgraded to Euclid Class and containment procedures were reevaluated, Researcher [DATA EXPUNGED] noticed that in spite of having no mouth or any other visible orifice, SCP-4037 was emitting a muttering sound, an approximate facsimile of a low-pitched human voice. Further investigation led Foundation personnel to identify that SCP-4037 was speaking in ancient Akkadian, with the exception of one repeated phrase in English.

Translation of audio log transcript SCP-4037-03:

"…[unintelligible] Tourniquet Man…"

[This is the only phrase spoken by SCP-4037 that is not in Akkadian.]

"Let me keep you…let me keep you as a favor."

SCP-4037 repeats this phrase many times over a period of forty five minutes. [RESEARCHER'S NOTE: There is no Akkadian word meaning favor as in, "doing a favor" but rather "favor", as in "winning approval", what is believed to be the intended meaning in this instance.]

"I can't diminish anymore, if I choose to dissolve in you."

This phrase is not repeated. After an hour, SCP-4037 speaks for the last time.

"Your fingers will spell my name. I trace the face of the holders."
