Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Foundation-operated web analysis bot Theta-14 ("CATFISHER") is to be maintained and kept online by Foundation agents embedded within Facebook, Inc. The bot is to monitor all newly-created accounts for behavior consistent with previous SCP-XXXX instances, and delete the account, along with any posts in which SCP-XXXX has been identified.
Any civilians known to have been contacted by SCP-XXXX or viewed posts in which SCP-XXXX has been identified are to be debriefed and amnesticised.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of accounts that manifest on the social networking website Facebook. SCP-XXXX instances vary in name, profile image, and account details.
When an SCP-XXXX instance manifests, it will send a Friend Request to a target account. Should the target accept, SCP-XXXX will begin its interaction cycle.
In the first phase of the cycle, SCP-XXXX will passively interact with the target's posts, leaving comments and "reactions" in a manner similar to any other Facebook user. SCP-XXXX has been shown to make use of additional website features when prompted by its target, such as game requests and being added to groups.
The second phase begins when either the target or SCP-XXXX begins a chat session through Messenger. Topics of discussion will generally involve events and hobbies that the target has recently posted about. It should be noted that SCP-XXXX and the target will talk about these events as if the instance had been present, acknowledging details that the subject hadn't mentioned in their posts. This phase will end when SCP-XXXX and the target make plans to meet in a public location.
