Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid (Provisional)

Special Containment Procedures: The current condition and whereabouts of SCP-XXXX are unknown. As little knowledge of SCP-XXXX has reached the non-anomalous public, containing the original scripture1 is a secondary priority to investigating its origins and importance to anomalous occultism. A research team has been established for this task.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a mythological work concerning Saint Alagadda2 and its encounter with an unspecified individual. The context of this interaction between Saint Alagadda and the other entity is presently unknown.

Addenda: According to non-Foundation anthropologists, SCP-XXXX is a piece of Christian3 apocrypha that originated in Italy sometime in the 12th century; however, allusions to the story predate this time period, such as Sappho's4 Thorns and Mountains poems. These are the only known references to SCP-XXXX above the Veil, and have been attached below.

Fifthist5 cosmogony refers to an entity ostensibly similar to Saint Alagadda, though it notably is not the creator of reality, but a herald to the end of the "Fifth World." This entity is referred to rarely despite its apparent importance; it has been suggested that referring to it too many times may summon it directly into reality. Cross-referencing descriptions of this entity with allusions to the individual present in SCP-XXXX suggest that these they may in fact be the same; thus, based on its similarities to Saint Alagadda, it can be assumed that SCP-XXXX describes an encounter between Saint Alagadda and an alternate interpretation of itself.

This theory has garnered some controversy amongst theologists, due to its suggestion that an esoteric work would contain metafictional elements. There is also criticism concerning its stance that Fifthist doctrine is untrue, as various Fifthist sites have been discovered across the world which lends credence to the beliefs held by various sects. A small group of scholars instead suggest that Saint Alagadda and this other entity, while both embodying the "void"6, are functionally opposite: Saint Alagadda represents the beginning of time, while the Fifthist deity represents the end of time. Subsequently, many believe that these two entities were culturally merged into a single figure due to poor recordkeeping and translation errors, making SCP-XXXX the last known work to differentiate them.

In 2019, letters between members of The School of Night7 were uncovered by Dr. Calixto Narváez8, likely revealing the last known location of the original scripture. A digital scan has been attached below.

Based on this information, Dr. Narváez searched through civil records to identify Fifthists who survived the conflict. One was confidently found: Benedict Ackley, who died twenty years after the initial meeting between the two organizations. Dr. Narváez was able to identify multiple descendants of Ackley, though only one was aware of vyr anomalous heritage, being Harris Addison9. Dr. Narváez reached out to Addison several times, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic occurring shortly after, Dr. Narváez could only communicate with vyr via Google Hangouts. The two eventually agreed to perform a video interview.

The Security Department allowed him to carry out this interview under the stipulation that he did not allow vyr to know of his employment with the Foundation, and he carried the interview out alone in his home. Dr. Narváez complied, but recorded the meeting to provide to the SCP-XXXX research team afterwards. A transcript of the interview is included below.
