Item #: SCP-3578
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3578 is to be contained inside of a wooden, square-shaped box, 25cm X 25cm, decorated with alluminum and gold engravings on the exterior. Personnel testing or reading it's contents must have a Cognitive Resistance Value of 20 or higher, as to not be influenced by the item's memetic properties.
Description: SCP-3578 is a sheet of A4 paper, presumably torn from a common notebook, discovered, upon inspection, to be a suicide letter, written in brazilian portuguese. D-Class personnel that have read it, reported a very strong headache and became nauseous after finishing the note, even if they did not have any former direct contact with the language. All reports detailing the contents of the note have slight variations, correlated to the personal life of the subject reading it.
UPDATE: Tests realized with personnel below the minimum score needed to resist the anomalous properties of SCP-3578 have shown that, when the subject finishes reading the letter, they stop identifying as their previous name and request to be caled Regent at all times, as well as not moving from where they have read it. These affected individuals are hereafter designated SCP-3578-A. Every instance of SCP-3578-A starts to wither and lose all muscle mass and adipose tissue as soon as they finish reading SCP-3578, dying within 3 to 6 hours. The last words of an instance of SCP-3578-A are, unvariably, "Tu és eu, e eu sou tu". If there is another person within earshot of the instance's voice, they will become another instance of SCP-3578-A
Discovery
The object was retrieved in the town of [REDACTED], Brazil, on ██/██/201█, from inside of a house abandoned 5 years prior, according to locals. The letter was inside a wooden box decorated with gold and alluminum drawings of flowers and other types of plants, grasped by the hands of a cadaver identified as a teenager, but identity remains unclear. Locals had reported the authorities of people entering and never leaving the house. The witnesses were given potent amnestics, and the house was demolished after investigation, proving it did not have anomalous properties.
