Item #: SCP-5022

Object Class: Safe Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Subject must be observed at all times from multiple angles using live-feed security cameras located in Site-11B. It must be contained in a 5x5x5 sound-proof steel chamber fitted with ventilation ducts to transport any noxious substances outside. Every 48 hours, the subject must be given 1 (one) 500 gram portion of organic matter, for sustenance, or for examination of its reactions. The chamber must be disinfected every 96 hours using peracetic acid (subject must be unconscious during this period). If the subject shows signs of aggression, action must be immediately taken to prompt it to return to a neutral state. The chamber can be entered under special conditions (excluding cleaning).

Contact must not be made with SCP-5022. Level 3 and under personnel must immediately report if they have been in the presence of SCP-5022 for more than 30 seconds. Similarly, class C and class D personnel must be immediately considered class E upon interacting with SCP-5022. Direct physical contact with SCP-5022 is prohibited under all circumstances.

Description: SCP-5022 is a humanoid entity, capable of sentience (sapience requires further testing) and verbal communication. It weighs around 65kg and has a height of 162cm in bipedal form. It possesses limited physical mobility but presents a considerable ability to engage in continuous, unintelligible speech, hereby rendering communicating with SCP-5022 problematic. Despite having functional eyes, its vision is impaired by an inability to properly focus on objects.

SCP-5022 can create memetic hazards at will, which prompted the need for containment in Site-11B. Exposure to the hazards triggers an anger reflex in human subjects. Further testing revealed the fact that any comedic material proved to no longer cause amusement in any subjects. The hazards take the form of human speech, which proves it to be very easily spread in any environment. Long-term effects to exposure to the hazards include depression, anxiety, and ██████.

Addendum: It has since been discovered that after an average of 11.8 days after the exposure to the hazards, personnel with lower cognitive resistance to the hazard attained the ability to spread it, similar to SCP-5022. Personnel infected with the meta-hazard are now classified as SCP-5022-X, where X is the number of personnel infected. This event has prompted the reclassification of SCP-5022 from Safe to Keter.
