Item #:SCP-XXXX
Object Class:Safe

Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked room that is 3.65x4.57m. The room is to be masked as an art studio with the works of SCP-XXXX all around the cell (whether they be on the floor or hung on the walls) the latest work of SCP-XXXX is to replace the oldest work of SCP-XXXX. There will always be a fixed number of 23 paintings in the room at all times. SCP-XXXX is to be placed at the center of the room. A blank canvas is to be placed onto SCP-XXXX everytime a work is completed.

Description:SCP-XXXX appears to be a standard easel. When a canvas is placed on SCP-XXXX within a 1 week period the canvas will slowly be painted on and an image of the near future will appear on the canvas. It is unknown how it is painted but it is reported that one will hear brushing sounds as if an artist was actually painting, along with seeing brush strokes being painted on the canvas. After tests it was discovered that nothing is actually there painting. The work created will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is made up of actual paint but it is unknown the source/origin of the paint. SCP-XXXX has accurately predicted the near future without fail. It is unknown whether or not SCP-XXXX controls the future or is just knowledgeable of it. The easel has gone through extensive research and it is not alive nor can it be destroyed. The invincibility of SCP-XXXX is an anomalous property that can not be explained. The use of carbon dating shows that the easel was created around 1900 BC and was crafted by ancient artisans part of the █████ ██████ ██████ civilization. It is certain that SCP-XXXX is the first easel ever created.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was first discovered in ██/██/19██ by a French artist named █████ ██████. He stated that he discovered the easel near his art studio in ████,France. He noticed that when he placed a canvas on it, it started to paint itself. He noticed that it painted a scene of Paris on fire with a Nazi flag mounted on the Eiffel Tower, this was years before the Nazi invasion of France. The artist thought the easel was haunted and immediately sold it. In 19██ SCP-XXXX fell into the hands of an artist from █████████,Ukraine. He placed a canvas on the easel and it painted the scene of a city completely abandoned. Once the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl occurred the artist started to spread the existence of SCP-XXXX. The foundation immediately contacted the painter and purchased the easel. The foundation also suppressed any truthful stories of the easel and now is just an urban legend in Ukraine.

Test A - 7/15/20██
Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A test subject (D-16341) was given the task to paint a tree on a canvas that was placed on SCP-XXXX
Results: The moment the first brushstroke was made the test subject fell into a trance like state and was unaware of everything. Once the painting was completed the test subject suddenly dropped dead. The autopsy report showed that the cause of death was caused by the heart of the subject suddenly stopping. The sudden failure of the subjects heart is not able to be explained. The work created by SCP-XXXX showed a scene of SCP-049 breaching containment, which later happened that day.
Analysis: After many tests similar to this it was concluded that an attempt to use SCP-XXXX as an easel will “anger” it and the next work it will create will directly affect whoever tampered with it/whoever ordered someone to tamper with it.

Test B - 8/17/20██
Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A test subject (D-63235) was given a series of directions. First to tip over SCP-XXXX, next to try to smash it, then to unscrew certain key points in the structure, and lastly to attempt to set it on fire.
Results: All attempts to destroy or tamper with SCP-XXXX rendered futile. Tipping it over or attempting to smash it did nothing. The screws would not unscrew, and it simply would not catch fire. After the tests were conducted and a canvas was placed on SCP-XXXX it showed the test subject being sent into SCP-3008 for research purposes which happened later that week.
Analysis: It is unknown whether or not SCP-XXXX is sentient. If one attempts to destroy SCP-XXXX they will expierence something that will lead to their suffering or death.
