Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX-1, it cannot be moved into prolonged containment. However, because SCP-XXXX-1 cannot leave SCP-XXXX unless instructed to, preventing passersby from approaching the banks of SCP-XXXX will suffice.
A chain-link fence with barbed wire attached on top has been installed in a 15 meter radius around the lake inhabited by SCP-XXXX. Signs stating the area is private property and that trespassing is prohibited have been installed on several locations in a 50 meter radius. The permanent fog present around the area also helps discourage any civilians from investigating further.
The fence is to be checked for damages every month. The exact location of SCP-XXXX is known only to staff with security clearance level 3 or higher, but the information may be granted to lower level staff if a valid reason is provided.
Local law enforcement has been notified not to investigate any disappearances nearby the area and to instead inform the Foundation of any reports immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small lake in a forest north of Naples, Italy. The lake is permanently enveloped in thick fog, created by the presence of SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 appears as a senior, caucasian man clothed in dark brown robes. SCP-XXXX-1 moves around the lake in a rowing boat which it operates with one oar. Whether SCP-XXXX-1 can leave the boat is yet unknown.
SCP-XXXX-1 appears to any person standing within 2 meters of SCP-XXXX. It then proceeds to ask the subject to where it requires passage. If the subject asks as to where passage would be given, SCP-XXXX briefly responds with 'anywhere'.
When a destination is given, SCP-XXXX-1 requests 'A coin for the passage'. The coin can be any currency and have any value. Refusal of payment to SCP-XXXX-1 results in SCP-XXXX-1 trying to shove the subject out of the boat, which it will not stop until the subject is successfully removed. After removal, SCP-XXXX-1 takes off from the banks and disappears in the fog, not returning until after 30 minutes. Testing has shown that SCP-XXXX-1 possesses high physical strength and is highly resistant to damage, see Test B.
