small town, SCP-XX00.

Item #: SCP-XX00

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: The Foundation is to maintain surveillance operations over the two families and their associates that are under the influence of SCP-XX00. Agents are not to interfere with any SCP-XX00-1 for any reason unless ordered to do so by Project Lead XXXXXX. Agents are to record their observations on the welfare of the family they are surveling and deliver these reports daily to their project manager. This data is used to calculate future implementations of Procedure 22-Shiloh.

In the event that interference becomes necessary to prevent a containment breach, agents may request the use of 22-Shiloh. This request should include the most recent welfare reports from every agent surveiling any group of SCP-XX00-1 and three options for Foundation interference. Using all the data gathered, 22-Shiloh generates two mission plans for agents to execute. The first will be an optimized revision of one of the proposed mission plans. The second is a mission plan to be executed on the the family that isn't targetted by the first mission plan.

Foundation Human Resources will now add both families to the genealogy pre-employment filter. Any connection closer than second cousins forbids that applicant from any field work or site assignment in the American Southeast. Site security will also modify their screening process to prevent any D-class with a possible connection to one of these families from being assigned to any site in the American Southwest UPDATE x/x/x after the containment breach at Site-XX, it is evident that heredity is not a reliable indicator of SCP-XX00-1 status. However, it is a strong indicator and if present, should be noted in their personel file and brought to the attention of their project manager or site security manager.

Description: SCP-XX00 is an ongoing conflict between the Stansel and Pollard families primarily throughout the American Southeast. While The Foundation has anecdotal evidence that hostilities have occured globally, most of the violence has been between clusters of the two families located in Eastern Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and the Florida Panhandle. The cause of this feud is still unknown to the Foundation and is in dispute even between instances of SCP-XX00-1 belonging to the same family or the same SCP-XX00-1 instance when asked again in a seperate interview. The proposed origins of the Pollard/Stansel fued given by an instance of SCP-XX00 can range from a mundane property dispute to a more elaborate scenario that has involved the use of anamolous entities, The Foundation, and various Groups of Interest such as The Church of the Broken God, Marshall Carter & Dark, and various Sarkic organizations. (See Addendum 1:a-b)

Despite how important genealogy is to those under the influence of SCP-XX00, being born into either family does not create a new instance of SCP-XX00-1. Conversion seems to only occur once an individual becomes certain that one of the families are primarily at fault for starting the feud. For purposes of 22-Shiloh, they are then classified as an non hereditary associate and carrier (SCP-XX00-1-b). Testing has not revealed any way to remove a subject from the influence of SCP-XX00.

Hereditary carriers (SCP-XXOO-1-a) possess a mild cognitohazard field in their immediate vicinity that affects non SCP-XX00-1 persons. The field triggers a set of reactions similar to the "Flight or Flight" response. Norepinephrine, epinephrine, cortisol, dopamine, and serotonin levels become elevated. The pupils will dilate and the subject's blood pressure will rise. Effects are more dramatic when another instance of SCP-XX00-1 from an opposing family is in the area of effect. Both instances will attempt to confront the other, often using deadly force and displaying a complete disregard for their own safety or of a bystander. Heriditary non carriers experience symptoms of a bystander but still trigger a response in a carrier of the opposing family.

When there are barriers making a confrontation between an instance of SCP-XX00-1 and a member of the opposing family impossible, the field will bend reality to facilitate a confrontation. (See Addendum 2)
