Item #: SCP-XX00
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: The Foundation is to maintain surveillance operations over the two families and their associates that are under the influence of SCP-XX00. Agents are not to interfere with any SCP-XX00-1 for any reason unless ordered to do so by Project Lead XXXXXX. Agents are to record their observations on the welfare of the family they are surveling and deliver these reports daily to their project manager. This data is used to calculate future implementations of Procedure 22-Shiloh.
In the event that interference becomes necessary to prevent a containment breach, agents may request the use of 22-Shiloh. This request should include the most recent welfare reports from every agent surveiling any group of SCP-XX00-1 and three options for Foundation interference. Using all the data gathered, 22-Shiloh generates two mission plans for agents to execute. The first will be an optimized revision of one of the proposed mission plans. The second is a mission plan to be executed on the the family that isn't targetted by the first mission plan.
Foundation Human Resources will now add both families to the genealogy pre-employment filter. Any connection closer than second cousins forbids that applicant from any field work or site assignment in the American Southeast. Site security will also modify their screening process to prevent any D-class with a possible connection to one of these families from being assigned to any site in the American Southwest UPDATE x/x/x after the containment breach at Site-XX, it is evident that heredity is not a reliable indicator of SCP-XX00-1 status. However, it is a strong indicator and if present, should be noted in their personel file and brought to the attention of their project manager or site security manager.
Description: SCP-XX00 is an ongoing conflict between the Stansel and Pollard families primarily throughout the American Southeast. While The Foundation has anecdotal evidence that hostilities have occured globally, most of the violence has been between clusters of the two families located in Eastern Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and the Florida Panhandle. The cause of this feud is still unknown to the Foundation and is in dispute even between instances of SCP-XX00-1 belonging to the same family or the same SCP-XX00-1 instance when asked again in a seperate interview. The proposed origins of the Pollard/Stansel fued given by an instance of SCP-XX00 can range from a mundane property dispute to a more elaborate scenario that has involved the use of anamolous entities, The Foundation, and various Groups of Interest such as The Church of the Broken God, Marshall Carter & Dark, and various Sarkic organizations. (See Addendum 1:a-b)
Despite how important genealogy is to those under the influence of SCP-XX00, being born into either family does not create a new instance of SCP-XX00-1. Conversion seems to only occur once an individual becomes certain that one of the families are primarily at fault for starting the feud. For purposes of 22-Shiloh, they are then classified as an non hereditary associate and carrier (SCP-XX00-1-b). Testing has not revealed any way to remove a subject from the influence of SCP-XX00.
Hereditary carriers (SCP-XXOO-1-a) possess a mild cognitohazard field in their immediate vicinity that affects non SCP-XX00-1 persons. The field triggers a set of reactions similar to the "Flight or Flight" response. Norepinephrine, epinephrine, cortisol, dopamine, and serotonin levels become elevated. The pupils will dilate and the subject's blood pressure will rise. Effects are more dramatic when another instance of SCP-XX00-1 from an opposing family is in the area of effect. Both instances will attempt to confront the other, often using deadly force and displaying a complete disregard for their own safety or of a bystander. Heriditary non carriers experience symptoms of a bystander but still trigger a response in a carrier of the opposing family.
When there are barriers making a confrontation between an instance of SCP-XX00-1 and a member of the opposing family impossible, the field will bend reality to facilitate a confrontation. (See Addendum 2)

Special Containment Procedures
Shiloh-22 is a system of evaluating the current micro "value" of a cluster of Pollards or Stansells and the macro standing of the entirity of a family and thier associates. Since the biggest threat to containment is the blowback from the feuders violence, they just have to make sure the status quo is maintained. If in there is something that will give one side a considerable advantage, that must be taken away BUT in a way where equivalent resources are used up against the otherside while the otherside loses the rough equivalent that the Foundation destroys/gives. Shiloh 22 will be an algorythm so its a cold hearted machine spitting out the solution not possibly partial humans.
Description
The feud is sentient in a way. Survival is the first priortiy. Growth is secondary. It will first nudge folks into fighting, then put those people on a path to fight, then bend reality to make a fight happen.
Every origin is a chance for a new story. It also shows that The Feud is HIGHLY adaptable and can survive under any circumstance

Stories I want to setup or tell here
1. Just show some southern gothicky reasons, eye rolling dramatic ones, super fucking weird GoI and foundation based ones
2. Jayson Hill uses the feud to pull off a containment breach for The Chaos Initiative and MK&D. There's a swamp monster involved while the site descends into chaos. After he will be a free lancer that will do work for MK&D. Stay tuned for his origin.
3. Thamiel request. This will just hint at the greater canon that the feud will run through. These two redneck factions will be able to frustrate and piss off anybody. Who just walks away or gets kicked out from a Sarkic Cult? They do. Worship the broken god by putting togethor anomalous hot rods? Yep. Bust through containment? Yeah they do….but they will never be a direct threat to consensus reality. In fact, they are so petty, inconsistent, they can barely get their shit together to attempt to destroy their sworn enemy clan…this could possibly be the ultimate trump against threats to Earth
4. Just because they havent attempted to kill the planet, doesn't mean that they are a useful tool. We aint going to throw these fucks into the fray. Sure, they have a track record of beating the impossible…but they also make the extremely simple into a convuluted mess and show a total disregard for human life. They don't need to be anywhere near a nuclear device…They are Keter now…
5. R&D of 22-Shiloh

Jayson Hill Origin Story (TALE)
Jayson might be the only self aware person in the feud. At 17 1/2 he ran away to the marine corps and made it through bootcamp and half a tour of duty before getting ambushed outside of Kandahar by a Pollard/Stansell (havent decided) soldier while out on patrol. Realizing he can't ever escape this, he decides to go AWOL and head back home on foot which launches him into a journey through the anamolous world where he eventually gets hooked up with Marshall, Carter, and Dark and the plan to pull of a heist and jail break on the Foundation is formed.
Jayson is my nod to the inspiration for this whole thing: Jason Isbell's "Decoration Day" that documents the very real feud that he is kin to between the Hills and the Lawsons that was active with murders and shootouts wiht the police in the 1970s. Here's the song: https://youtu.be/lshZvJ3XSgY Yes it was first done by The Drive By Truckers before he got kicked out. His solo and sober versions are way better though.
Jayson is incredibly polite, soft spoken, funny, great story teller, a cold heartless murderer, he never/always lies. He's gay, unable to experience fear but always looks a little sad. After fucking over the Foundation, I see him being a free lancer but still heavily involved with Marshall, Carter, and Dark operating back in The South, Central America, or anywhere rural and humid. Right now I'm planning for it to be all told in the first person in a VHS tape to make good on a promise he made during the containment breach, but I'm not married to that idea.
1980-70s: The Territories War
Drugs, Guns, and Pro Wrestling. This will be the reason why the feud is manageable. The extreme violence done to eachother was enough decimate their numbers. I want Southern Noir style stuff with cocaine smugglers, NWA inspired southern wrestling insanity, and the end of Sarkic and CotBG influence. There needs to be something in there retelling 2 events that inspired this canon from the Hill/Lawson feud. One is where two Lawson brothers ambush some state troopers, take their guns, and get away with it. The other is where patriarch Holland Hill and some goons try to kill the Lawsons in a gunfight in a trailer park….and the Lawsons end up getting charged with the crime.

SCP-XX21 The Stonewall Jackson (demolition derby car)
WW2 -> Vietnam:
Prior to WW2, the major anomalous forces that are invoked by the feud have all had American roots like The Factory, the real anomalous Civil War that stretched to Brazil, and the dueling Carnivals and Freak Shows that birthed the feud. New anamolous powers enter the feud like Sarkic Cults, Church of the Broken God join real world fascism, Marxism, Nazism. The world is changing fast and the fight is who can change the fastest
Great Depression: The Circus Leaves Town
For the first time the feud isn't the biggest threat, just trying to find work and food is.
