Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5046 is to be kept at Site-54 under constant human and video surveillance with cognitohazard scrambling. See Addendum 5046-a. Two guards are to always be stationed directly outside SCP-5046’s containment area on 4 hour rotations with no breaks whilst stationed outside SCP-5046’s containment area. Only personnel assigned to SCP-5046 may enter the containment area, subjects that enter must be accompanied by two or more security personnel.
When any tests or actions pertaining to SCP-5046 are occuring, lead scientist Dr. M. ██████ must be watching via surveillance systems and keeping in contact with all personnel in the immediate area through radio and/or speaker systems. Personnel of only level 4 and higher may enter the containment area of SCP-5046. All personnel must have confirmed authentication from project lead Dr. M. ██████ to test with SCP-5046. Any discrepancies with proper procedure will be met with disciplinary action and possible investigation.
Description: SCP-5046 is a small box made of an unknown material that may have traces of beryllium bronze. SCP-5046’s surface is covered in a dark purple felt substance with the letters MC&D on the front, presumed to be Marshall Carter and Dark. Further investigation required. See Post-Discovery.01. SCP-5046’s size varies depending on the temperature of the box and its environment. See Addendum 5046-aa. The current known minimum size is .243cm x .243cm x .243cm and the current known maximum is approximately █████m x █████m x █████m. See Addendum 5046-b.
SCP-5046’s anomalous properties are only really seen when the box itself is opened. When SCP-5046 is opened a completely random object / element appears inside the box. When the object (Known as SCP-5046-2) is removed from SCP-5046 any properties that it should have will ‘activate’, these reactions can be mundane or utterly disastrous and can result in massive explosions that can result in mass loss of life. The object (SCP-5046-2) that appears in SCP-5046 can be natural or unnatural elements, objects, spaces, ██████, etc. Anomalous objects that appear in SCP-5046 retain their properties. See Addendum [DATA EXPUNGED]
Discovery: On 13/04/20██ SCP-5046 was found in ████████, Kentucky by MTF Beta-7 (“Maz Hatters”). SCP-5046 was noticed by officials in the area when a massive explosion killed 46 people, harmed over 300 and gave many people possible radiation burns. The explosion is theorized to have been caused by an individual somehow opening the box and ‘activating’ the material inside. The material is theorized to have been radioactive isotopes, a form of matter similar to antimatter, parts of a high temperature planar structures, or, possibly [DATA EXPUNGED]. Beta-7 team is currently nearing site of anomalous explosion and is preparing for landing.
B7-Cap: Alright folks, we should be getting in viewing distance of the explosion site. Be getting your masks on, this is possibly a radiation hazard. Other than that.. Be getting immediate amnestics out, get a base perimeter set up, make sure we get ‘Containment area 0’ up before people get close to the epicenter.
B7-3: So uh.. What the hell do we know about this thing? Human? Alien? Object? Cognito? Portal to the nether realms?
B7-Cap What we know: it's radioactive, it's explosive, it's dangerous and it’s anomalous. Amnestics might be required for people around the site. Owner is unknown, same with the source.

Beta-7 proceeds to touchdown and spread out, securing the area and clearing/amnesticizing civilians. B7-1 gets area set up with officials, whilst B7-4 proceeds to set up epicenter perimeter around the explosion site.

Closing Statement: As far as we know, one of the members, presumed Beta-7-2 opened SCP-5046, causing a massive detonation. This detonation was different from the first, there was a large amount of radiation in the air and the explosion was much more powerful. The Retrieval Team moved in once the smoke had cleared in the area. Mission success with only 3 personnel deaths. Beta-7-3 received medical attention once the Retrieval Team landed and secured the area. Testing on SCP-5046 is still ongoing. Beta-7-3 was later cleared by the medical teams, psych evaluation ongoing. After further investigation, it was considered if the initial explosion could have been caused by SCP-5046 creating or obtaining a chunk of SCP-00█. [DATA EXPUNGED] ██/██/████ [DATA EXPUNGED].
Post-Discovery.01: After retrieval of SCP-5046 had happened, investigation into where it came from commenced. MTF Mu-3 “Highest Bidders” was assigned to find out where SCP-5046 came from. Due to Mu-3’s expertise with GOI Marshall Carter And Dark, they found out information pertaining to SCP-5046 within [DATA EXPUNGED] weeks. See File 5046-GOI-MCD-01.
Addendum 5046-a: Due to the test with SCP-5046, where Dr. ██████ opened SCP-5046; all personnel working on SCP-5046 are required to have cognitohazard scrambling gear. In Dr. Miller’s test, he opened SCP-5046 at 40*C (1.2m x 1.2m x 1.2m) In SCP-5046 there was a slab of concrete with engravings similar to those in SCP-17██. When SCP-5046-2 was seen by personnel, the original cognitohazard activated. Killing 7 security personnel and 5 research personnel.

Addendum 5046-b: When SCP-5046 was still waiting for classification at Site-██ a containment breach of multiple keter and euclid SCP’s broke containment. After about █ hours it was decided by the current Site Director to detonate the on site Nuclear Warheads 4-██. When the warheads were detonated, a massive object, presumed to have been SCP-5046, appeared, destroying much more of the facility than was intended. The Site was later secured by MTF Epsilon-11 “Nine Tailed Fox”. After investigation, it was found out that SCP-5046 was presumably the entity that grew and destroyed the facility. This was only found out after SCP-5046 Test Log #4 had found out that SCP-5046 grew in size when exposed to heat.
