Object Class: /Euclid/

Special Containment Procedures: [Containment procedures: SCP-5603-A is kept in special facility constructed 8 months after its initial containment. This facility has a limited research staff dedicated to understanding the abilities displayed by SCP-5603-A. The site, designated Site 710, was constructed to resemble a 50’s era Air Force hanger located in INFORMATION REDACTED. The site was surrounded with an electric fence, as well as provided multiple SAM instillations for defense against bombing raids or aerial surveillance. 500 yards in any direction from the electric fence has been converted into a mine field with appropriate warning signs as to discourage civilians or hostiles who wish to investigate Site 710. The only safe entry to Site 710 is a dirt road lined with automated defense turrets armed with armor piercing explosive incendiary composite rounds. (APEIC) All onsite personal receive APEIC rounds for their standard firearms. Camera surveillance encompasses the 100 square miles surrounding the facility and D-class personal are assigned to patrol the end of the mine field at all times. SCP-5603-A is not to be engaged without access to black quartz glasses, ample supplies for tactical response teams are located in their work armories. SCP-5603-A requires eye contact with victims for serious effects to incur. Ensuring staff and onsite personal do not make eye contact with SCP-5603-A should be a top priority. Facility staff should also be under constant reminder to avoid eye contact at all costs. SCP-5603-A is kept in a 15 foot by 15-foot room provided with internet, tv, and other entertainment systems. The room is furnished to resemble a studio apartment with a false window displaying a prerecorded view of scenery requested by SCP-5603-A. A large two-way mirror was placed in SCP-5603-A’s containment cell to allow subjects and personal to observe SCP-5603-A without its knowledge. Camera’s record the room 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with recording being stored on servers locally, with recording unrelated to incidents or experiments being removed from the systems every 30 days. All footage of SCP-5603-A Should be heavily filtered to obscure SCP-5603-A’s features. SCP-5603-A is provided with food and beverages by request. No visitors will be allowed to see SCP-5603-A without approval from DR. {YELLOW} due to the risk posed by SCP-5603-A’s effects lacking treatment. SCP-5603-A’s personal cell is to monitored at all times by automated systems. These systems are monitored by automated systems only requiring input or interaction every 2 weeks. All onsite personal must report to phycological evaluations twice a month as well as take melatonin daily before bed.]

Description: [Physical description: SCP-5603-A is 5’9” in height. (175cm) weight for the subject has been recorded between 170 lbs (77kg) to as high as 260 lbs (117kg) depending on diet and enforced routines. SCP-5603-A has blonde hair that grows at a normal pace, blue eyes that react to light as expected, and a youthful general appearance. Having masculine facial features similar to that of post-pubescence youth. While it is clear that is not young, SCP-5603-A has refused to disclose is real age, claiming that they don’t know the honest answer. ]

Addendum: [{05 council clearance required}: SCP-5603-A blood and tissue samples analyzed by the foundation revealed inconclusive results similar to that of SCP-4715. Due to the destructive protentional of SCP-4175, site 710 was requisitioned to better contain any future breeches. Though ineffective against SCP-5603-A APEIC rounds have been given to armed onsite personal to promote confidence among research and security staff. This was done after SCP-5603-A’s first escape, under the guise that more lethal rounds would deter future breeches from SCP-5603-A.]

Initial finding {DR. yellow} (9/12/01): SCP-5603-A was found near ground zero in New York city, on the day the twin towers were attacked. SCP-5603-A initially drew attention from foundation personal when several survivors of the attack died of panic attacks shortly after medical rescue teams could attend to them. The connection that drew founded concern was the lack of response to traditional sedatives. Foundation personal called for ground containment response team when a survivor told agents “I saw him stand over a person, and they began to scream.” The indicated person was recovered though they expired two hours later in a hospital due to heart failure admits a panic attack lasting their entire admittance. SCP-5603-A was recovered after two D-class personal assigned to search for SCP-5603-A used personal recovery explosive devices to kill themselves. This incident temporarily incapacitated SCP-5603-A and allowed for a second team to recover it. SCP-5603-A was stored at a local containment facility, with plans being made to allow study of it via camera.
SCP-5603-A update #1 {DR yellow} (11/5/01): SCP-5603-A and its abilities were initially underestimated. The surveillance team assigned to monitor SCP-5603-A while in custody began to exhibit signs of the influence of SCP-5603-A two weeks into monitoring SCP-5603-A. A second team was created without the knowledge of the original to monitor their progress. The first team seemed unaware of their changing behavior. When asked about behavioral changes, they became suspicious of the inquirer and adjusted their behavior to avoid further questions about the subject. These conversations and questions seemed to be causing them visible anxiety to talk about. After the third week of surveillance a member of the initial team reported consistent nightmares to their therapist. The nightmares always involved SCP-5603-A, simply standing in her dream, regardless of the contexts of the dream, SCP-5603-A would be noticed by the agent who would begin to feel trapped, unable to wake. SCP-5603-A would gradually move closer in the dream, upon reaching the agent she would wake up. She confessed she wanted to set him free, in the hopes he would leave her alone. Her participation in the project was reconsidered, her talents used elsewhere, she was resigned, to a research facility in {REDACTED} though information came though at 2 weeks after transfer her nightmares persisted, and she took her own life on site in her housing unit. Her death was labeled “work-stress” related and her family compensated as such.

INTERVEIW #1: DR. {yellow} The following transcript is from the first interview conducted in person by DR. {YELLOW} with SCP-5603-A. DR. {YELLOW} enters the containment zone and stands outside the cell containing SCP-5603-A
SCP-5603-A: you don’t seem afraid.
DR {yellow}: should I be?
SCP-5603-A: most are, that’s all. I can’t seem to look a man in the eyes without driving him insane
DR. {yellow}: yes, that’s what these glasses are for, I’m testing a theory.
SCP-5603-A: a theory? Must be pretty confident in it. What’s your theory mr….?
DR. {yellow} Call me {yellow}, and my theory is that you effect a certain part of the visible spectrum of light, influencing the brains of people the way a cuttlefish hypnotizes their prey. Using these glasses, I block out that part of the spectrum, and now I can talk to you, man to “man”.
SCP-5603-A: (chuckling) excellent theory {yellow}, I I’ll confirm it for you, because I like talking to people, I just never get to. As far as I know, you might just be right, people have to see me, and people who look into my eyes always end up screaming.
DR. {yellow}: do you know why they start screaming?
SCP-5603-A: yeah, when people look into my eyes, it’s like they see their biggest fears, the things that scare them most, the things you can’t fight or hide from. When you look into my eyes, I feel it too.
DR. {yellow}: What are you feeling now,
SCP-5603-A: uneasy
There is a long pause in the transcript.
DR. {yellow}: what do you mean? Exactly.
SCP-5603-A: you tell me doc, as far as I’m concerned, it’s you who feels this way.
DR. {yellow}: are you saying you are sensitive to the emotions of others? Like an empath
SCP-5603-A: I don’t know what that means.

2/20/02 SCP-5603-A update log #4: SCP-5603-A has been in standard containment at site {REDACTED} under observation and study by a team of research staff supported by D-class lab technicians. As of 16 hours before the time of this log, SCP-5603-A escaped containment and caused mass hysteria on site. During the escape SCP-5603-A moved towards the main doors to the facility only stopping when security personal on site attempted to contain it. All personal who encountered SCP-5603-A failed to contain SCP-5603-A, and later died while receiving medical attention from foundation personal. SCP-5603-A was recontained after it returned to site {REDACTED} with various recreational sedatives in its possession. Immediately a new facility was requisitioned to contain SCP-5603-A and minimize further risk at site {REDACTED}. Interviews with security teams prior to their expiration led to the conclusion that SCP-5603-A is immune to small weapons fire, as well as most means of riot suppression. Powerful explosives or shockwaves seem to be able to incapacitate SCP-5603-A temporarily, though no serious damage has ever been recorded. Security team recommended adding a mine field to SCP-5603-A’s containment to incapacitate it before it can escape. Security and lab footage show SCP-5603-A out maneuvering skilled combatants in close quarters demonstrating a military prowess not expected of the subject. All onsite personal have been giving three months of mandatory therapy to monitor for the effects of SCP-5603-A. At this time SCP-5603-A will be moved to a new site requisitioned to contain SCP-5603-A alone and minimize risk to other foundation personal.
INTERVEIW LOG #2 2/23/02 DR. {YELLOW} and SCP-5603-A:
SCP-5603-A: Hi {YELLOW}
DR. {YELLOW}: Hello, SCP-5603-A do you know what lead to your escaped?
SCP-5603-A: The doors opened so I walked out.
DR. {YELLOW}: (a slight pause followed by a deep inhale) Do you know who opened the doors? And why did you walk out, if you didn’t want to be here, why did you come back.
SCP-5603-A: I wanted a few things, and it seemed like a decent time to get them, you don’t open my doors often.
DR. {YELLOW}: I didn’t open your door, who did?
SCP-5603-A: didn’t you?
FILE CORRUPTION ERROR.

4/3/02 SCP-5603-A update #5 DR. {GREEN}: during his study of SCP-5603-A DR. {YELLOW} has committed suicide, currently it is suspected that this event was caused by interactions with SCP-5603-A. DR. {GREEN} will be taking over as project head, under DR. {GREEN} the foundation has imposed more focus on containing SCP-5603-A than studying SCP-5603-A due to the hazardous natures of observations regarding SCP-5603-A.
4/12/02 SCP-5603-A update #6 DR. {GREEN}: SCP-5603-A has shown a desire and affinity to self-medicate with recreational sedatives, preferring strong concentrated doses of cannabinoids. While SCP-5603-A does appear to poses a uniquely high tolerance to these substances the effects of the substances appear as expected. As long as SCP-5603-A is provided with ample stores of sedatives and entertainment in SCP-5603-A’s containment cell, SCP-5603-A is willing to comply to all questioning and observation. Blood, fluid and tissue samples were even collected for study by SCP-5603-A and given to foundation research personal onsite after being given equipment to collect adequate samples. Further exploration of SCP-5603-A psyche show that it has a strong desire to be productive or useful, though its abilities prevent it from receiving help from others to accomplish its goals, or feeling able to help others with theirs. Foundation personal have noted his possible use if weaponized, though SCP-5603-A has made objections to the idea. Currently the research team believes SCP-5603-A does posses some sort of empathic ability, and the feeling of death to others is unpleasant to SCP-5603-A. There is no actual fact that supports the claim, merely the research staff all believe that SCP-5603-A poses this ability.

5/7/02 SCP-5603-A update #7 DR. {GREEN}: SCP-5603-A has spent over a year in foundation containment with only the one containment breach and no subsequent containment breaches since being relocated. SCP-5603-A has not caused any unintended incidents of the condition now referred to as 710- affliction This name originated as a joke between medical staff onsite looking for possible treatments. One possible treatment was found, though it requires stopping the patience’s heart for more then 30 seconds and then restarting the heart successfully. The procedure has a 25% chance of success with traditional methods, though this can be as high as 75% with certain aid from foundation resources. SCP-5603-A has made it clear that since the foundation has a treatment it would consider successful it no longer wishes to help with research involving the exposure of D-class personal to the effects “710-affliction.” Furthermore, SCP-5603-A has requested a blind companion, the request was brought to the 05 council for ethical concerns of a person living in SCP containment. The 05 council was able to transfer a blind prisoner to their custody under the condition the rest of their incarceration would be done at Site-710. The Person had been serving a live sentence for the murder of the one who blinded them.
9/11/11: DR. {GREEN}: SCP-5603-A escaped containment at approximately 13:00 hours today. 3 days prior to the incident the aforementioned blind companion living in containment with SCP-5603-A died after a depressive episode lead to a successful suicide attempt. SCP-5603-A seemed emotionally unstable after the event and killed 14 security personal who attempted to contain it. SCP-5603-A was last captured on camera surveillance 85 miles to the south of site 710. SCP-5603-A has stolen a variety of vehicles while evading foundation containment teams. At this time, the location of SCP-5603-A is unknown.
