SCP-4428

Item #: SCP-4428

Object class: Euclid

Special containment procedures: A 3x3x3 mile perimeter must be maintained around SCP-4428’s containment area. This perimeter may not be breached under any circumstances. If any humanoid entities are noted to have entered this perimeter, they are to be terminated and decapitated on sight via explosive munitions (see addendum-4428-1). A minimum of 130 MTF members must be present at the perimeter of SCP-4428 to prevent any human interaction with SCP-4428. If another instance of SCP-4428 is noted to have appeared; another larger perimeter must be made. In the case of a containment breach; MTF Sigma-12 “Red Herring Cedar" must evacuate all nearby towns.

Description: SCP-4428 is a group of roped balloons with balloons resembling past SCP-4428-1 instances. Instances of SCP-4428 appear to sing the song“A fine day” written by Jane, reverting to the beginning of the song when the song would naturally terminate. When SCP-4428's song is heard by a human being (further referred to as SCP-4428-1), SCP-4428-1 will start shaking violently, appearing to have an epileptic seizure. SCP-4428-1 will then collapse. This effect will still occur if the subject is wearing or utilizing soundproof technology. This effect, however, does not affect permanently deaf individuals. Approximately two seconds after SCP-4428-1’s body hits the floor, SCP-4428-1’s corpse will be dragged to (presumably) the center of SCP-4428 by unknown means. SCP-4428 will appear to gain another instance after this event. This balloon is always identical to the latest SCP-4428-1. After another instance is gained, the radius of which SCP-4428’s song can be heard is increased. The rate at which this happens seems to be indeterminate. It is currently unknown how SCP-4428 transforms SCP-4428-1 into another instance of itself.

Experiment-4428-1:
Subject: D-2946
Notes: equipped with one pair of custom soundproof earmuffs
Results: D-2946 was instructed to put on the earmuffs and walk 10 feet inside the perimeter of SCP-4428 and await further instruction. D-2946 walked into SCP-4428’s perimeter and stood still for five seconds. D-2946 began having an epileptic seizure and fell on the floor. D-2946’s corpse was dragged through SCP-4428 at approximately ███ MPH.

Experiment-4428-2:
Subject: D-1103
Notes: Subject is permanently deaf. D-1103 is equipped with a bodycam mounted to their chest.
Results: D-1103 is briefed to go into SCP-4428 and attempt to locate the center of SCP-4428. D-1103 walks into SCP-4428, surveying the surrounding area. D-1103 walks through a large patch of grass, causing camera view to be obscured. D-1103 emerges at a small circular clearing, scattered clothes of 13 individuals are visible on the ground. D-1103 approaches SCP-4428. D-1103 picks up a small brown clothing tag off of a Male instance of SCP-4428. The sentence “I know times have been rough lately, and I think that a balloon might lighten your load a little” Is inscribed on the tag. A noise, similar to rustling fauna, is heard to the left of D-1103. D-1103, appearing to be startled, begins running back towards the perimeter of SCP-4428. Subject retrieved without incident.

Addendum-4428-1: It has been noted that subjects already decapitated inside of SCP-4428s containment area will not become an instance of SCP-4428.
