Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained within the approximate area of its discovery, which is within a two square kilometer radius of ██████ █████████, Germany. The containment facility in which SCP-XXXX is housed in a re-purposed facility purchased from Arbitron, the German-based European technology company, for €██████████ located in a secluded, suburban area 28 km from the nearest, modestly populated town. A local private security company, named ████████ ██████, currently is carrying out a contract of €█████ per month in order to conduct regular, low-profile surveillance sweeps of and around the compound. The security task force is equipped with the bare minimum, which is a monthly-regulated number of four (4) security guards, two assigned to the use of the company-issued truck for ease of surveillance around the perimeter of the compound. All guards share the same equipment, which has been listed below.
The SCP Foundation has thus funded further fortification of the compound, though rather minor, as general safety precautions regarding special containment procedures. Said fortifications are as follows; steel chain link perimeter fencing, galvanized steel barbed wire, and a security checkpoint located at the front entrance of the compound. The SCP Foundation deems any further fortifications of the compound unessential unless promptly given sufficient reasoning.
All civilians and non-cleared staff attempting to enter the compound are to be told to leave the premise, and lethal force is authorized only for display for inducing fear within the civilian and non-cleared staff. All civilians and non-cleared staff found within an area which they lack sufficient clearance are to be detained, interrogated, and administered Class-C Amnestics. The hired security or any other authorized personnel have complete authorization to use lethal force whenever deemed necessary.
SCP-XXXX itself is contained in the lower 1st level of the central factory building. The rest of the main building (And all other buildings) has been entirely gutted out, remaining vacant until further usage is required. The basement has one, single entrance through a 4 1/2" composite vault door which is monitored by constant closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance. Behind the vault door, past the vacant area of the basement, SCP-XXXX is securely contained through a precautionary aluminum 1 1/2" single-lock mechanism door.
The room itself contains nothing besides the container, as additional equipment and furniture has been deemed unnecessary for the purpose of containment. SCP-XXXX is held within a tread plate steel box with a diameter of 50.9 cm / 20 inches. This box is locked using a premier steel gate locked padlock.
SCP-XXXX does not require any management or specific conditions, however, a regulatory check is conducted every month by local inmates who are specifically chosen to enter the containment room, instructed to open the steel box whilst being monitored by CCTV surveillance located within the room. Most if not all subjected to SCP-XXXX’s checkup is subsequently hindered mentally, deeming most mentally impaired. Following their assigned task, the inmate is than transferred to the psychiatric hospital designated for inmates located in ████████ for treatment of their psychological damage.
If all of the standard, listed protocol is executed as listed then SCP-XXXX is considered securely contained, unless disclosed as otherwise.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is identified as a size 61 grey M1942 Stahlhelm that weighs 0.99 kg. The shell of SCP-XXXX is constructed of 1.8mm matte grey thick steel that remains in furbished condition. As signified by the matte grey color, SCP-XXXX has been speculated to have belonged to a soldier enlist in the Heer of Nazi Germany, however, the exact origins of SCP-XXXX still remains unclear.

The effects of SCP-XXXX upon the human species varies depending on the level of contact held by the afflicted individual. If within a 25-meter radius of SCP-XXXX , the afflicted will begin to experience psychological affects which range from the following:
* A general, unspecific sense of emotional/psychological distress.
* Issues in focusing or concentrating regarding outside human contact.
* Self-loathing with no explanation.
* Quick to become irritated and/irrational.
The field of psychology associates these symptoms to depression, which would entail the afflicted persons to experience related symptoms. All of the experienced symptoms become increasingly severe as distance between SCP-XXXX and the person becomes shorter in length
Researchers from our local institutes have reported that whenever with a distance speicifed as an average of about 5 meters between SCP-XXXX and any one individual is reached, then new symptoms begin to envelope the afflicted. On top of the previously experienced symptoms, the afflicted then begin to experience post traumatic stress from events that have could not have possibly occurred to that person. The events recalled by those experiencing post traumatic stress have been observed share nearly identical scenarios, all of which illustrate experiences of mass suffering. Below is the account of an afflicted subject:
Those afflicted by post traumatic stress disorder are incapable of proper, fluent communication. Not only are the afflicted subject to improper speech, but are also subject to common symptoms associated with post traumatic stress disorder:
* Prone to physiological reactions from triggers.
* Avoidance of people, places, activities, conversations, and objections.
* The inability to properly and/or fully recall past events, whether fabricated or not.
* An unhealthy lack of sleep.
In addition, the recollections showcase facial experiences which replicate that of genuine fear, which psychological intensifies the symptoms experienced.
The researching committee has yet to find a single individual who is able to describe or name the supposed culprits of the described violence. The depictions of the afflicted subjects never recall vivid memories; however, all have described similar emotions and series of events.
Contact with SCP-XXXX and the human epidermis not only heightens the affects of the post traumatic stress disorder, but psychogenic shock has been shown to have occurred 4-6 hours after the epidermis makes direct contact with SCP-XXXX. No matter the severity of the mental distraught brought upon any person, whether they be a subject or not, are immediately subjected to psychological treatment, which is to receive direct funding from the SCP Foundation.
