The pincer of an SCP-XXX instance

Special Containment Procedures: Other instances of SCP-XXXX shouldn't be mentioned in the presence of a single instance. If an SCP-XXXX instance asks about the whereabouts of its peers, one must say that all other instances had been 'wiped out,' and that the instance in question is the last of its kind. All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in a Foundation Research facility located in Site-17. All SCP-XXX instances must remain isolated in separate containment chambers for at least 12 hours a day to prevent any unnecessary casualties.

Description: SCP-XXX is a community of 70 semi aquatic humanoid creatures. Despite possessing a humanoid stataure (with arms, a torso, etc.), these entities better relate to a common Brachyura.¹ Each instance of SCP-XXXX is encased in a hard carapace that protect their vital organs. Additionally, each SCP-XXXX instance's head have a saucer-like shape that retain the previously described carapace. Two dichoptic eyes are located on top of each head, as well as two mandibles retained on the lower half. Most SCP-XXX entities also have the ability to speak fluent English, despite not having tongues.
All SCP-XXXX subjects have displayed a form of hostility towards other SCP-XXXX subjects. The reason for this hostility is unknown, and does not extend to any form of life outside of any other SCP-XXXX instance.

+Incident Report-XXXX

During an annual supply of resources at Site-17, various cargo was destroyed due to an unexpected storm, including much of the resources required for SCP-XXXX. This caused one of the SCP-XXXX instances to speak up and lead a riot. This riot caused multiple SCP-XXXX instances to fight each other for the few resources that had arrived. Despite being told that more supplies were being sent within 3 days, the SCP-XXXX instances refused to stop fighting. Most of the resources that had made it to Site-17 had also been destroyed. An interview was then conducted with an SCP-XXX subject who had been responsible for the incident. (see Interview Log-XXXX). 58 SCP-XXXX instances were critically injured, and 12 were found dead.

Interview Log-XXXX

Interviewed: Male SCP-XXX instance, whom had been instigating many of the events during Incident-XXXXD. Subject will be henceforth known as SCP-XXX-1

Interviewer: Head Researcher of SCP-XXXX, Dr. Howell

Foreword: Audio Log of an interview conducted by Dr. Howell with SCP-XXX-1 shortly after the events of Incident-XXXXD.

Dr. Howell: Good evening SCP-XXX-1, I suppose you know why you're here?

SCP-XXX-1: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Dr. Howell: I am referring to the events that occurred earlier today with your fellow subjects, Incident-XXX.

(Dr. Howell slides SCP-XXX as written summary of Incident Report-XXXX)

SCP-XXX-1 after giving it a quick glance: Oh… that. Well, what do you want me to say? Its not my fault it happened. In case you haven't noticed, my 'fellow subjects' are crazy! They'll kill each other any chance they get!

Dr. Howell: Right… well that's what we assumed at first, but then there were various accounts from site personnel that you had yelled over and over, "The end has finally come, you fuckers are starving tonight".

SCP-XXX-1: A lot of people were yelling a lot of things, ok? Since when was it a crime to conform with the masses?

Dr. Howell: Yet, you were told specifically that more supplies were being shipped during that time. And you still felt the need to cause a panic?

SCP-XXX-1: Okay, I don't know why I am getting all the blame here! I only ripped one guy's arm off, people have done worse.

Dr. Howell: Please understand, we are not blaming you for the results of incident-XXX, we just want to know why you did these things to prevent it from happening again.

(SCP-XXX can be heard muttering to itself)

Dr. Howell: If you have something to say, SCP-XXX-1, please say it.

SCP-XXX-1: You want the truth? Fine. The truth is, I WAS trying to get people riled up, are you happy?

Dr. Howell: You are admitting to causing the panic?

SCP-XXX-1: Did I stutter?

Dr. Howell: I am just clarifying, please refrain from aggression. So, you say that you DID attempt to rile people up and cause a panic, but you haven't told me why.

SCP-XXX-1: I mean, can you really blame me?

Dr. Howell: What do you mean?

SCP-XXX-1: These people, these things, they have it out for me! If they're not happy, I can't be happy. Day in and day out they try to… to… DRAG me down to their filthy fucking level, and I am sick of it! I would do it again if I was given the chance!

(small moment of silence)

Dr. Howell: …It appears you hold a large amount of spite towards your fellow subjects.

SCP-XXX-1: It appears so.

Dr. Howell: You will obviously face repercussions for your actions, SCP-XXXX-1. We cannot keep having these issues.

SCP-XXX-1: Oh please, don't act like you don't agree with me. You've been with them, you know what its like. I still don't know why you people wont just let them die.

Dr. Howell: That isn't our goal here. The Foundation wants to protect you, and learn more about your behavior. And… perhaps we can even help you.

SCP-XXXX-1: Help us? Why? Do you even know what happened, what they did?

Dr. Howell: What they did…? I'm sorry, what do you mean by that?

SCP-XXX-1: …

Dr. Howell: SCP-XXX-1?

SCP-XXX-1: Fuck you, I don't want to talk anymore.

Closing Statement: Due to the acts committed by SCP-XXX-1, the subject was transferred from Site-17 to Site-█. Current containment procedures were then implanted prevent any more incidents involving SCP-XXXX.

Addendum: Following the events of Incident Report-XXXX, a proper behavioral analysis was required in order to better understand SCP-XXXX. As a result, two SCP-XXXX instances were isolated in a locked containment chamber for approximately 20 minutes with arm restraints. The conversation between each instance (henceforth designated as Subject A and Subject B respectively), was recorded.

+ Interview Log-XXXXA

For the first ten minutes of the interview, neither Subject A nor B said a word. Subject B seemed very distraught in Subject A's presence, and was focused on attempting to destroy its restraints. Subject A sat in silence for a majority of that time before speaking.

Subject A: Could you stop doing that, please? You're not getting out anytime soon and its starting to get annoying.

Subject B: Of course YOU want me to stop, don't you? The minute I put my guard down you'll probably just chop my head off or eat my remains or something!

Subject A: You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? Why on earth would I want to do that?

Subject B: I don't know! But what I do know is that I'm the only sane one around here.

Subject A: I'm not insane. I'm perfectly capable of rational thought.

Subject B: Those are the exact words one would expect from someone NOT capable of rational thought!

Subject A: And those are the exact words of an idiot.

Subject B: Keep talking, I'll be out of here real soon and then you'll be sorry you ever met me!

Subject A: You know, it seems like you want to kill me more than I want to kill you. Why? Why are you so set on me being some kind of enemy?

Subject B: You can feign your innocence on the men in those coats, but not on me.

Subject A: I didn't ask to be locked up like I'm some prisoner. However, if we weren't, we'd have killed each other by now. And people like you are the reason why.

Subject B: Don't blame me! You all deserve to die, I know it.

Subject A: Why, though? Why do you think that? We're literally the same!

Subject B: You know why! You were there! We all were there, and I bet you killed way more than I did you, um, freak!

Subject A: Please, don't talk about back then.

Subject B: Wait, did I- I struck a nerve! Why shouldn't I?

Subject A: Because just thinking about then makes me want throw up. We were all just… desperate.

Subject B: Not true! Don't say that, you were all just showing your true selves!

Subject A: Please, for the love of god, shut up.

Subject B: I swear, I'm gonna get out of here, and I- I'm gonna kill you!

Subject A: Stop talking, please.

Subject B: And then when I'm done with you, I'm gonna go far away from here. I'm gonna-

subject B was interrupted as Subject A tore itself free from its restrains and began to tear Subject B apart. As it did so, it repeated the words, "stop doing that" over and over again.

Closing Statement: Security personnel grabbed Subject A and was properly restrained, however Subject B could not be resuscitated. Subject A was sent back into its containment cell.

+Discovery Log-XXXX

Discovery Log: SCP-XXX were discovered by a Foundation drone on an island located off the coast of The Caribbean. Within the first few months of discovery, containment procedures were limited to observation due to the preserved behaviors of SCP-XXXX. However, within a year of monitoring, the population of SCP-XXXX dropped significantly. After noticing this drastic decline, the ethics committee proposed to take custody of all SCP-XXXX instances and supply them with resources to prevent termination of all subjects. This proposal was approved as of 7/3/2019, and MTF Gamma-6 ("Deep Feeders") were sent for retrieval of all SCP-XXXX instances.
Upon entering the island, there was a significantly less amount of natural resources on the island than there had been previously. Multiple piles of cinder was also found within the forest of the island, so it had been presumed that a wildfire had taken place at some point.
Approximately 45 km inward of the island led to a small cavern which was said to have had a "pungent seaweed smell." Inside, an estimation of over 100 carcasses of SCP-XXXX were discovered, and 70 living instances of SCP-XXXX were found on the verge of starvation. Later autopsy reports showed that the main cause of almost all SCP-XXXX deaths were due to an excessive amount of gashes, which were traced back to the pincers of other SCP-XXXX instances. Towards the end of the cavern, a message was carved into the wall. The message read:

THE BETRAYED LIE DEAD
WHILE THE BETRAYERS WALK FREE
ALL CAN WIELD THE CLAW OF DECEIT
AND ALL WILL FALL TO IT
BASICALLY, YOU GUYS SUCK

After retrieving all living SCP-XXXX instances, they were brought to Site-17. So far, every SCP-XXXX instance has had no memory of writing the message, or even reading it. Its meaning is currently unknown.
