SCP-5224 expressing its interest of reading.
Item: SCP-5524
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5524 is allowed to explore its container freely with no fret about if SCP-5524 were to escape containment, as it is no harm to anyone at the facility and would cause no harm anyway. Although, the subject is not allowed out of its containment cell at any time and shall be protected by some kind of plastic container if it is needed to be taken out from its cell. SCP-5524 is to be fed at least 3 times daily, depending on how hungry the subject seems to be. All personnel is allowed inside SCP-5524’s containment cell without reason.
Description: SCP-5524 seems to physically resemble a Squirmle, a toy worm that is draggable by a string, weighing nearly .07 kg (.15 lbs) with blue fur and white 'googly' eyes. The subject is nearly 21.6 cm. long (8.5 in.) and about 1.3 cm. (.5 in.) wide. Although the subject appears to looks as normal as a Squirmle toy should be, it has been discovered to have body tissue, organs, and has been tested and been confirmed to be conscious and behaving as if it were a normal species of worm. Although, it has been noted to be able to understand human speech, after being tested. As of yet, it has been noted to understand English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Czech, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Japanese, Italian, Mandarin, Hebrew, Cantonese, Tagalog, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, and Portuguese.
SCP-5224's temperament has been described curious, youthful, and clever in nature, often showing emotion through the wagging of its tail, wiggling around, or showing emotion through body language through the movement of the upper body and head of the subject. It shows elation when near children or people who show happiness and if subjects are not happy, SCP-5224 will try its hardest to make them happy through actions that many have described as 'cute'.
SCP-5224 has been noted to be able to draw, although very sloppily done considering the subject's lack of appendages that would give it the ability to draw or write. This has been noted as being the subject's favorite activity. SCP-5224 has also recently began trying to writing out simple phrases and words, noted ones being 'SCP', 'Hello' (misspelled; helo), 'love' (misspelled; luv), 'worm' (misspelled; wrm), 'doctor' (misspelled; doktr), and 'food'. Other words have been written by SCP-5224, although they are too illegible to be coherent by any means as of yet.
Addendum: Upper Class employees at Site-██ have considered teaching SCP-5224 skills such as reading, comprehension, math, language, craftsmanship, the sciences, history, geography, and other subjects to increase the intelligence of SCP-5224.
