Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a large containment cell. SCP-XXXX is to be X-rayed weekly and any significant changes to its contents should be reported.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a male African elephant, measuring 3.78m tall and weighing 6,012 kg. It exhibits severe mutilations to its mouth, and part of its right tusk has been broken off. Neither injury has been shown to be capable of healing. SCP-XXXX periodically alternates between being nearly motionless and extremely hyperactive, showing signs of pain and distress. During the latter phase it moves about mainly by jumping large distances, sometimes in excess of 80m and reaching heights of up to 65m. Despite this enormous physical exertion, SCP-XXXX does not require sustenance of any kind.
Medical imaging shows that most of SCP-XXXX's internal organs have been torn apart, and in their place is an adult female lion. The lion's internal structure shows similar mutilation, and in turn houses a cobra, which contains an eagle, containing a frog, containing a beetle, containing an unusually large flea. All creatures within SCP-XXXX are capable of limited movement, and can produce vocalizations that can be heard from outside SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX secretes an unknown gaseous compound that causes animals in its vicinity to salivate heavily and develop aggressive tendencies. Testing has shown that animals exposed to this compound first develop an increased appetite, then after prolonged exposure become more inclined to eat other animals, even if they are normally herbivorous. If an animal should attempt to eat SCP-XXXX while under this effect it will not resist, nor register any pain response.
Addendum XXXX-1: Recovery of SCP-XXXX
SCP-XXXX stampeded into the city of [REDACTED] on █/█/20██, where it injured █ people before it was anesthetized. The animal was seen to be suffering from severe damage to its mouth and tusks, and so was to be transported to a veterinary hospital. The Foundation planned to intercept the vehicle; however, during transportation, SCP-XXXX regained consciousness, leapt through the roof of its containment and traveled 21km east before stopping by the sea, at which point it was recaptured by the Foundation. Class C amnestics were administered to all witnesses, and the casualties and damage to buildings were attributed to an earthquake.
Addendum XXXX-2: Footage of SCP-XXXX
The following are two recordings of SCP-XXXX taken 20 minutes apart on █/█/20██.
First video: Taken at 1:55pm by a camera crew filming a nature documentary in the Serengeti. Believed to show SCP-XXXX obtaining its current form.
First 3 minutes of footage show an African elephant eating leaves from a tree standing alone on a vast savanna. In the background a lion can be seen watching the elephant from within some tall grass. The elephant stops eating, then scans its surroundings and appears to spot the camera crew. It begins to charge towards them, and the crew can be heard panicking and running away. The stampede causes the camera to fall over.
After a few seconds, the camera is picked up and pointed at the elephant, which has ceased its charge. The lion is now standing in front of it. The lion scratches at the elephant's leg, then lies down, growling and hissing at the elephant. This enrages the elephant, which picks up the lion with its trunk and brings it up to its mouth. The lion then uses its arms to reach into the elephants mouth and force it open, while contorting its body to make itself as small as possible. Cries of disgust are audible and the footage becomes shaky as the lion is swallowed whole. The elephant is motionless for a full minute, bleeding heavily from its mouth. Then, without warning, it takes a large leap away from the camera. The camera tracks it as it travels across the savanna until it is out of sight.
Second video: Taken at 2:15pm by a tourist in the city of [REDACTED]
Footage begins with a shot of a wide street in a residential area, with some buildings having been partially destroyed. The footage is shaky and of low quality as it is being recorded on a camera phone. People are running out of their houses, some panicking, some confused. SCP-XXXX enters into view from behind a building and stumbles into a wall, destroying it. It is encumbered by three dogs clinging on to it and gnawing at its legs, and a cat hanging from its tail. SCP-XXXX looks around in a daze for about thirty seconds, after which the dogs are flung off it as it jumps past the camera, which turns round as a voice says, "Woah, what do they feed the elephants round here?" The camera pursues the creature as it takes further leaps through the city.
After traveling for three minutes along streets filled with frightened bystanders, the camera reaches SCP-XXXX outside a cathedral. It is attempting to squeeze through the main entrance to the building, compromising its structural integrity in the process. A voice comments, "Looks like he wants forgiveness! They're gonna need a bigger confessional booth!" Two army vehicles then pull up beside the cathedral, and several soldiers armed with tranquilizer guns get out and fire at SCP-XXXX. One soldier shouts in the direction of the camera, and the footage ends.
Addendum XXXX-3:
On █/█/2019, it was observed that the flea inside SCP-XXXX had grown to fill the space previously occupied by the beetle containing it. SCP-XXXX is now to be subject to regular medical imaging to monitor any further growth of this organism.
