Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within an anomalous objects locker at Site-13. Testing of SCP-XXXX requires approval from Level 3 or above personnel. All verbal communication is prohibited while SCP-XXXX is active.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a generic cassette recorder with no distinct markings. When a voice is recorded by SCP-XXXX, the recorded will experience an inability to use the syllables recorded. This effect only manifests when SCP-XXXX records live audio. Affected subjects mouths and vocal cords will still move normally but no sound will be produced. To date, nothing has proven capable of reversing the effects of SCP-XXXX.
Addendum: D-5637 was placed in a room with SCP-XXXX and told to repeat the phrase "This is a test and I am participating. I'm done talking now." Afterward, D-5637 was instructed to turn off SCP-XXXX and Dr. Ricardo entered the room and began interviewing D-5637.
