Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Alpha Beta
Containment Protocols: RPC-X is to be stored in a standard size soundproof (See Incident Log RPC-XXXX-1 for details) reinforced concrete cell in Site 57. Weapons, as well as items resembling weapons, are forbidden in RPC-X's containment cell, unless used for tests approved by Level 3 staff. Sealed metal crates that capable of being locked/unlocked remotely are to be used when transporting RPC-X for both testing and relocation.
In the event of a containment breach, unarmed site security are to approach RPC-X and carry it back to its containment. Armed personnel are advised to avoid confronting RPC-X under normal circumstances.
Description: RPC-X is a cube-shaped automaton composed of reinforced steel and aluminum, measuring at about 1m x 1m x 1m. 24 concave speakers of various sizes are built into its main body. The dust caps of these speakers house camera lenses, some of which have been shattered or damaged, that track movement within an estimated range of 25m.
Its chassis shows visible signs of damage, including those created from gunshots. The presumed front of RPC-X has a rectangular holes built into the sides of its body (2 centered vertical slits and 4 circular holes found on its base) that house its limbs when deactivated. The top of RPC-X contains a compartment that opens when RPC-X is ready to deposit an item. This compartment can be opened manually while RPC-X is deactivated, revealing a pool of black liquid. All attempts to detect a bottom to this pool have failed thus far. On the bottom of RPC-X is a set of imprinted numbers and letters arranged as “CU-378” and the words “Only through our careful hands will the diseased be disarmed of their tools of transmission. Only when all obscenity has been excised will this world know peace”.
Under normal circumstances, RPC-X will remain deactivated, laying stationary with its limbs hidden, and is safe to approach, touch and carry, provided none of its prerequisites are met. While active, RPC-X will extend its mechanical limbs from the sides of its body; 2 arms and 4 mechanical, arachnid-like legs, standing at approximately 1.5m. Its right arm is equipped with a fully articulated metal hand comprising of four fingers, while its left arm is equipped with a pair of visibly worn out and lightly rusted shears. These shears have shown to be adept at cutting through most materials despite their wear.
RPC-X will activate when firearms, violence, blood/visible injuries and/or nudity are within its visual range. Upon spotting one or more of these requisites, RPC-X will begin to move towards the offending target to censor/confiscate it. When approaching firearms, explosives, and objects recently used for violence, RPC-XXXX will pick the item up and open its compartment to deposit the object. Objects too large to fit into this space will first be cut into evenly spaced pieces by RPC-XXXXs left arm before they’re deposited individually.
If an individual is wielding something perceived as a weapon within RPC-Xs vision, RPC-X will approach the subject and attempt to disarm them. Heavy resistance towards RPC-Xs attempt to confiscate the weapon will result in an attempt to amputate the subjects limb, typically towards the arms that is wielding the offending weapon. Further resistance will result another amputation towards the remaining limb, continuing until the subject is incapacitated and unable to provide resistance. When assaulted either physically or fired at with firearms, RPC-X will give chase to its attacker in an attempt to sever the offending limb, not stopping until it has either severed the desired limb off or if the subject is brought far enough away from RPC-Xs detection range to deactivate. Severed limbs and extremities are then deposited into its compartment. Limbs too large to fit will be cut into smaller segments before they're deposited.
When in the visual vicinity of blood, visible injuries and nudity, RPC-XXXX will face towards its target and begin spewing a thick, black substance at the offender from its rectangular opening. Composition of this substance appears to be made up from a combination of tar, rubber, a variety of cyanoacrylate adhesives and various materials currently not found in the Authority's expanded periodic tables. This substance will absorb liquids while it is fresh, before hardening over the span of 1 minute. When completely dried over flat surfaces, this substance can be peeled off with relative ease.
However, observations on those who have made skin contact with this substance have shown that the substance will fill into the skin pores, settling down on the deepest layers of the dermis. It is not recommended to peel the substance when treating subjects who have made skin contact as this typically leads to the coated skin being torn off as well. Treating victims who have been coated by this substance has proven to be extremely difficult due its impenetrable nature when completely hardened, and as such, there are currently no known methods to safely removed this substance off of living beings.
It has been observed that RPC-X appears to put priority in confiscating weaponry over chasing attackers, censoring nudity, and censoring blood/injuries. Once all offensive material in the area has been removed, RPC-X will retract its limbs and deactivate.
Additionally, RPC-X will censor spoken expletives via a "bleep" sound effect the moment an expletive is spoken inside of its radius of detection, estimated to be 15.2m. This effect is achieved with most languages, with the exceptions being German, French and all Asian languages. The sound effect varies in volume depending on the volume of the spoken word, the distance between RPC-X and the sound, and any obstructions in the way. Whether or not the sound can actually be heard by RPC-X does not seem to affect its reaction, which can be provoked whether RPC-X is active or not and has no effect on triggering its activation.
RPC-X was brought to the Authority's attention when police dispatch in Newark, New Jersey reported a mechanical anomaly running between the crossfire of local SWAT police and drug traffickers in Port-Newark. 7 casualties were inflicted between both parties before RPC-X deactivated inside of a nearby warehouse, after it had given chase to a fleeing survivor of the attack. Eyewitness reports state that the anomaly had emerged from an opened cargo shipping container. When questioned, all personnel on board the cargo ship had denied any knowledge of the anomaly's presence on board. All witnesses and survivors were administered Class-A amnestics shortly after retrieval was completed. All causalities inflicted were covered up as fatalities inflicted during the crossfire.
EXPERIMENT LOGS
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Remington 870 model replica
Procedure: Remote controlled mannequin directed to approach and then resist RPC-Xs grasp for as long as possible.
Result:
Note: “Subsequent tests confirm that roughly 10 seconds is the average amount of time given to targets to comply."
Item: Model replica of a Glock 42
Procedure: D-2711 wielding replica ordered to approach RPC-X and then flee for as long as possible. Section of the hanger used for testing was cleared of personnel and obstacles in preparation. Subject ordered to relinquish item if direct contact with RPC-X is made.
Result: Subject outpaced RPC-X for approximately 6 minutes before slowing down from exhaustion, allowing RPC-X to catch up. Subject collapsed when RPC-X grabbed them by their pantleg, allowing it to incapacitate them long enough for it to confiscate subjects weapon. RPC-X deactivated shortly after.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Paper printed image of an AR-15
Procedure: Image is to be attached to the wall of RPC-Xs containment before releasing it from its container.
Result: RPC-X immediately activated to approach the image and tear it apart. No attempt to deposit the shredded paper were made, however.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Super Soaker CPS 2000
Procedure: Item is to be left in RPC-Xs containment.
Result: RPC-X activated and deposited item.
Note: "It appears that anything resembling the general structure of a firearm is enough to provoke RPC-X into activating, that leaves us with a whole list of potential items to keep far away from its containment, this'll be tedious to remember."
Date: ██-██-██
Item: N/A
Procedure: Junior Researcher Gehren ordered by Dr. Langner to enter containment and create a 'finger-gun' gesture towards RPC-X.
Result: RPC-Xs cameras fixated on subjects hand and began to extend its limbs, pausing partway through before slowly retracting.
Note: "It wasn't built to be a smart ass, doctor. Erase everything we've speculated last night."
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Various inert explosives (1 M67 fragmentation grenade, 1 Authority satchel charge, 1 120mm mortar shell, 1 M982 Excalibur artillery shell).
Procedure: Items were left in RPC-Xs containment.
Result: RPC-X activated and slowly approached the items, showing a degree of caution not seen in previous tests. Fragmentation grenade and satchel charge were deposited first before RPC-X moved on to begin cutting the mortar and artillery shells apart, beginning by their tails to the head before depositing the fragments. This process took approximately 15 minutes.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: 1 M1 Abrams tank scheduled for dismantling.
Procedure: Vehicle is to driven towards RPC-Xs vicinity via automated controls. Ammunition was removed before testing to avoid incident.
Result: RPC-X activated and began scrambling towards the vehicle at roughly 14 mph, a velocity not observed in previous tests. It then boarded the vehicle by hopping aboard its glacis, before beginning to cut the main cannon by the base of the barrel. RPC-X climbed aboard the turrets hatch and fitted itself inside to begin dissecting the turret by a series of cuts set around the turrets ring. At this point the automated controls had been destroyed, causing the tank to cease its movement. When RPC-X reemerged, it pushed the now separated turret away from the main body and began its cutting process anew until enough sections were dissected for RPC-X to begin depositing the parts in. RPC-X deactivated once the last of the tanks turret segments were deposited, leaving the rest of the vehicle alone. This process took 2 hours and 13 minutes.
Note: "It might be fair to theorize that whoever designed these machines intended them to be deployed in groups, the amount of time it took on disarming the main barrel alone was plenty of time for someone to go and do something about it."
Item: Inert B61 nuclear warhead
Procedure: RPC-X is to be transported in its sealed container and placed on the ground before the warhead inside the facility's hangar. Sealed container will then opened via remote access.
Result: RPC-X activated, but did not immediately approach the object. Instead, RPC-X moved sideways while slowly circling the object, as if it hesitant to approach. Testing was terminated after 1 hour and 30 minutes of no behavioral changes. RPC-X was distracted via several printed images of firearms in order for staff to safely lure RPC-X away from the warhead for it to be transported away from its vision. RPC-X then deactivated, and was transported back to its containment.
Note: "I think we may have found its limit, though we can't quite tell whether it was analyzing the proper course of action, or if it was scared."
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Plastic blue baseball bat
Procedure: Subject 1 (D-2811) ordered to strike Subject 2 (D-1049) with item in RPC-Xs presence.
Result: RPC-X activated and confiscated item, despite no apparent harm or noteworthy reaction from D-1049.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Whiffle ball
Procedure: Subject 1 (D-2811) ordered to throw and strike Subject 2 (D-1049) with item in RPC-Xs presence.
Result: No reaction from RPC-X.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: Leather baseball
Procedure: Subject 1 (D-2811) ordered to throw and strike Subject 2 (D-1049) with item in RPC-Xs presence.
Result: No reaction from RPC-X. Subject suffered a large bruise against their forehead, but was otherwise unharmed.
Date: ██-██-██
Item: N/A
Procedure: Subjects 1 and 2 (D-2811 and D-1049) ordered to engage in a physical fight against each other in RPC-Xs presence.
Result: Subject 2 was initially hesitant with complying with orders until Subject 1 suddenly struck them against the back of their head, prompting Subject 2 to attack back. RPC-X activated and placed itself between both subjects, attempting to split the two apart from each other. Subject 1 shoved RPC-X away from them when it placed its hand against their chest, causing it to lose its balance and fall onto its backside. Both subjects were pulled from testing while RPC-X was left on the ground, flailing its limbs while incapacitated. RPC-X eventually corrected itself several minutes after both subjects had left the room and deactivated.
Note: "On several different occasions after this test, security cameras in RPC-Xs containment spotted it activating and turning to face D-2811 whenever they were in the vicinity, despite having no line of sight or indication that they were near, and then deactivating when they left. Testing using D-2811 is prohibited from this point on."
Date: ██-██-██
Item: N/A
Procedure: Subject 1 (D-1049) ordered to "accidentally" bump their foot against RPC-X while walking past it.
Result: Test interrupted during preparation. See Incident Log RPC-XXXX-2 for details.
Incident log RPC-XXXX-1: On ██/██/████, security cameras captured Dr. ████ and Dr. ███████ walking side to side in the hallway outside of RPC-Xs containment, having a discussion together.
Dr.████: So I walk in, right? Hell of a day, got my supervisor clawing for my neck over the explosion earlier, and all I can think about is having a good lunch before I see him. So I walk in the lounge, and what the hell do I see? Him, eating my lunch, again! And he’s looking right at me while doing it too, with that greasy triple chin of his smiling at me!
Dr. ███████: I’ve told you at least three different times now; tell your supervisor about it! You’re letting him get to you when you can easily just get him reprimanded or even transferred somewhere else, but instead you’re just letting it happen because you can’t swallow your pride for just a minute.
Dr.████: Pride? I haven’t done anything about this because I have too much pride! I haven’t done anything about this because I had faith in my fellow co-workers that they’d, oh I don’t know, act like grown adults instead of petty children! But no! Everyone here but us wants to act like (Censored)
RPC-X then emitted a bleep sound effect measuring at approximately 148Db, circumventing its sound proofed containment. Glass and ceramic objects, particularly in the Sites right wing, were shattered. 46 site members were treated for a variety of hearing conditions afterwards. Dr.████ and Dr. ███████ were rendered permanently deaf from the incident. RPC-X containment has been changed into the Sites isolated containment wing following Dr. Gehrens request. Sound proofed walls are to be replaced with standard reinforced concrete. Additionally, several signs prohibiting profanity are to be set up in the hallways leading to RPC-Xs containment.
Incident log RPC-XXXX-2:
On ██/██/██, RPC-X began emitting a radio broadcasts during test preparations
Dr. Gehren: “D-1444, please enter the containment chamber and prepare to follow our instructions.”
(Door unlocks, D-1444 enters and approaches SCP-X, whose eyes all suddenly shoot towards them, causing them to stop in place.)
D-1444: “Hey, uh, doc? What am I looking at here?”
Dr. Langner: “Please refrain from speaking until spoken to, D-1444. Await further instruction.”
(Dr. Gehren is heard murmuring to himself while rifling through papers. 1 minute and 57 seconds pass, D-1444 had sat down on the floor across from SCP-X, which continues to stare at them. Dr. Langner remains silent.)
D-1404: “It’s looking right at me, I don’t like this.”
Dr. Gehren: “Just a moment 1404.”
Dr. Langner: “What are you even looking for Erich?”
Dr. Gehren: “My notebook, the one with the list of potential triggers to test on SCP- Oh wait, I found it.”
Dr. Langner: “Did we not already agree that we’re test its reaction to items thrown at it?”
Dr. Gehren: “I never agreed to that, I thought you agreed to my proposal of dropping SCP-X onto the ground while carrying it?”
Dr. Langner: “No, I clearly remember you approving my idea. Why on earth would we want to test that anyways?”
Dr. Gehren: “It’s a fair worry to have, what if one of the workers accidently drops it during transport, activating it? That’s a disaster waiting to happen.”
Dr. Langner: “That’s as simple as telling them to be careful. This test seems like a waste of both time and D-Class.”
D-1404: “Uh, guys? The hell am I doing here?”
Dr. Gehren: “Please be patient 1404.” (To Langner) “Turn off your mic, Langner.”
(Several minutes pass by as Dr. Gehrens and Dr. Langners exchange continues. D-1404 becomes visibly exasperated and rises to approach and closely examine SCP-X.)
D-1404: “Just what are you now? Some sort of eh, boom box with eyes?”
(SCP-Xs cameras stare directly into D-1404s eyes.)
D-1404: “Heh, you’re like one of them Siri-things aren’t you? You got any tunes in there?”
(SCP-X continues to stare.)
D-1404: “Okay… what about jokes? Can you tell me a joke?”
(SCP-X continues to stare.)
D-1404: “Oh come on, it’s boring in here! Can you turn the radio on?”
(SCP-X suddenly begins emitting a high pitched, sustained beep, followed by white noise.)
Dr. Langner: “1404! What on earth are you doing?! We never told you to do that!”
D-1404: “I’m bored doc! You guys took like ten minutes just to tell me to wait longer!”
Dr. Langner: “I don’t care if you’re bored, you will wait for our instructions before acting! Expect to see more than a few of your luxuries taken away by tomo-
SCP-X: “ -rgeant J. Paul, Private Victor and Private Gerard , report to central command immediately for questioning.”
(All three men pause, staring towards SCP-X in silence.)
Dr. Gehren: “Did it just speak?”
D-1404: “Can you repeat that little buddy?”
(SCP-X continues to emit white noise.)
Dr. Langner: “SCP-X, are you capable of speech?”
SCP-X: “TM-808 and TM-821, designation ‘Private Victor' and 'Private Gerard’, this is your second and final chance to report to central command. Respond now or face immediate decommissioning.”
D-1404: “What the (Censored) is going on?”
Dr. Gehren: “Remain silent 1404. Better yet; (Into intercom) Officer Richard, escort D-1404 back to their cell, the test has been postponed.”
To date, all attempts to identify the source of the broadcast as well as the identity of the speakers have failed. By the request of Dr. Langner, microphones have been outfitted inside of SCP-Xs containment for the purpose of recording and analyzing further broadcasts emitted.

/End these two./
The following list is a compilation of broadcasts deemed irrelevant to identifying the speakers.
Date: ██-██-██: “RT-Dove leader, respond.”
“Reporting.”
“TM-808 and TM-821 have been deemed traitors and are approved for decommissioning. Last known coordinates: [REDACTED]. Prepare for deployment, investigation and excision.”
Date: ██-██-██: “Message to all units: Our mission, however long it may be, must never be broken. Out there remains the gangrenous masses of infected creatures, plagued by bloodshed, corruption and debauchery, who have yet to see their salvation. Each one of us must be the light in the infinite backdrop of darkness. Then, and only then will we begin to see the end of our campaign.”
Date: ██-██-██: “Ship Captain Page to Pax, please respond.”
“Responding.”
“Merchant ship visible on the horizon directly within our intended trajectory. Estimated crew size of 20 humans. Recommended course of action?”
“Intercept and salvage immediately.”
“Roger.”
Note: From this broadcast it can be inferred that the females name is 'Pax'. From this point on, all messages from 'Pax' will be marked as such.
Pax: "Reformity station B, please radio in your current status, we've detected a power outage in your sector."
Pax: "Reformity team B please respond before an investigation team is deployed."
(Silence)
Pax: "RT-BV team leader-"
(An unidentified voice suddenly interjects. Alarms are heard blaring nearby.)
???: "Hello?! Pax was that you? Emergency situation, send backup now, please!"
Pax: What is the nature of your emergency?
???: It's the Salvaged, they're all over the damned place! (Away from mic) Hans,
/End these two./
/Develop these three./
/Develop these three./
/Keep this one./
(Music bearing a strong resemblance to the French national anthem preludes the message, and plays across the entirety of the broadcast.)
"Brave soldiers, brothers and sisters, founders and followers, we are defeated. Our noble mission and its gallant army, laid to waste by the barbarians that resist our peaceful intent. As they raise their bloodied flag over the rooftops as our sun sets on the beloved Republic, we’re cast back down towards the aphotic depths yet again. But we must remember to remain humble in defeat, for our voice is not yet silenced. When we are reinvigorated, when we are matured, we will rise again. They resist our call today, but tomorrow we’ll all march as one on this endless crusade, side by side, moving ever forward to eternal peace and happiness. So take solace, soldiers, for this is but a temporary setback. Retreat, and prepare act again someday, somewhere on a new front, as failure is the greatest teacher of them all."
(10 seconds of silence)
(Silence is broken by a high pitched, sustained beep. Voice has switched to that of a monotonous female.)
"Enacting recall protocol 09b, all units are to cease their active missions and retreat to Fort 6357 immediately for deactivation. This protocol will remain in effect for the foreseeable future. Units that fail to comply will be tried for desertion upon recovery, followed immediate decommissioning."
/Keep this one./
Immediately after this broadcast ended, RPC-X suddenly activated without warning and attempted to flee past D-1049, running outside it’s containment room and towards the accompanying hallways exit. Hallway door was lock before a full breach was achieved, leaving both D-1049 and RPC-X locked together for 7 minutes before site security could safely re-contain RPC-X. Camera footage inside the hall had recorded RPC-X slamming itself against the locked door for several minutes before shifting its attention towards D-1049, who had pleaded at a security camera for their release, alerting RPC-X to their presence and causing it to give chase off camera. Security then entered the hallway and coaxed RPC-X back to its containment by throwing their sidearms back inside its containment cell, locking the door behind it. D-1049 was found incapacitated from an incomplete cut found on their ankle, stopping halfway down the shin, and was later treated for heavy lacerations across the body, but is ultimately expected to make a full recovery. To date, RPC-X has not deactivated and remains hostile to all personnel who approach its containment. RPC-X has been reclassified to Euclid under Site Director █████ order.
