Special Containment Procedures:
A 5 km exclusion zone must be maintained around the area in which SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX lives. Civilians are to be prevented from entering the area of the beach that SCP-XXXX-1 occupies. If any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are spotted outside of the exclusion zone, they should be returned back safely to the water. To increase security and discourage trespassing, a net has been established along the border of the exclusion region as well as a steel fence along the coastline. If any civilians encounter an instance of SCP-XXXX-1, or SCP-XXXX, they must receive class-A amnestics and be delivered away from the exclusion area. As of event SCP-XXXX-0001, a mix of seaweed and garbage is to be delivered to the beach where SCP-XXXX-1 instances return on a regular basis, so they can maintain the state of their nest, themselves, and feed SCP-XXXX.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a 2 m long plush whale that lives at the bottom of the ocean, 1 km off the coast of a beach in ███████, Siberia. Instances show high levels of intelligence, but their ability to speak is limited to basic words such as "Follow", "Friend", and "Retreat". Whether SCP-XXXX-1 instances are sentient or not is currently unknown. SCP-XXXX gives birth to approximately 60-100 smaller instances of itself a month, hereby known as SCP-XXXX-1. Through close up photos and scans, SCP-XXXX's body is shown to be made out of cotton. For unknown reasons, SCP-XXXX requires sustenance in the form of aquatic plants consisting of, but not limited to; sea grass, algae, coral, seaweed, or any foods containing high amounts of cellulose.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances range from 10-20 cm in size and share similar properties with SCP-XXXX. Their body shapes and patterns vary, however all instances recorded have been perceived as various shades of blue, having facial features and fins. SCP-XXXX-1 instances live for approximately 1 year before they expire and degrade. They decompose in the same way and at the same rate at which cotton does1.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances will appear in a small group of 8-12 on the beach at which they are located around twice a week. The days at which they appear are seemingly erratic, however, they may be effected based on the moon phase or the tide. Upon arriving at the beach, they will proceed to collect foreign and organic objects, such as toys, shells, seaweed, and other garbage using their oral orifices to carry back to their nest. When on land, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will manoeuvre their surroundings by hopping using their fins as a method of self-transportation. They will then re-enter the water at night, or whenever they have collected as much garbage as they can hold. They will proceed to take their findings back to the nest to either sustain SCP-XXXX, or expand upon it.

Upon being threatened, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will retreat back to the water. If SCP-XXXX is threatened, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will try to defend SCP-XXXX by forming a shield with their bodies around the nest, or through attempts at distracting the threat. SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 instances can be injured, however, they can also heal through the consumption of aquatic plants. The healing process takes around 1 week to 3 months, depending on the severity of the damage.

The nest of SCP-XXXX is currently measured to be approximately 10 x 20 x 20 m. The nest is made of hardened, calcified sand mixed with plastic scraps and other assorted pieces of garbage. The structure is brittle, and can be easily disturbed by human interference. The interior of the nest is entirely hollow, and the walls of the structure generally range around 30 cm in width. The nest has multiple large cavities that allow shelter and free movement for instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to safely deliver food to SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are constantly expanding the nest, and the rate at which they do so is around a 5.6% increase in volume per year.

SCP-XXXX was originally discovered in ██/██/████ when a group of fisherman reported seeing SCP-XXXX-1 instances swimming past their boat.

Addendum:
As of event SCP-XXXX-0001, 50 kg of garbage, consisting of at least 50% aquatic plants is to be left out for instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to collect in order to avoid a repetition of the event, and to avoid the neutralisation of the anomaly.
