What Once Was Will Never Be Again I Will Make Sure Of That

He came to me, I don't know how he found me, but he did.

He walked up to me and asked if I was the Administrator. Puzzled, I answered: Yes.

It was then when I realized who the man was.

"How are you alive?" I asked, I got no answer as he walked closer towards me, his face furled to a face of anger.

He pulled a switch knife out of his pocket and charged towards me.

The man was lost in a world of pain, regret, loss. His eyes pink with the sign of many tears having been shed.

His aim was terrible, an easy miss with little movement on my part.

I quickly subdued him and forced him to the ground.

"You caused it! I know it!" he screamed. "The end of the world!" he finished.

"Once more, how are you alive?" I asked, getting off the man.

Instead of an answer, he reached into his pocket and grabbed a photo.

I watched as he sprung from the floor and shoved it in my face.

SCP-096, specifically his face.

I stared at it for a second, giving a light chuckle before taking it and putting it in my coat.

"That won't work I'm afraid," I said, "He died too"

That's when I noticed a large ring on his finger. SCP-399

He pointed his ring finger at me, the ring glowing purple.

It seemed as though he had sent the invitation to me, to meet at this location. Which just so happened to be a nuclear power plant.

His hand was in a strained, semi gripped, pose as if immense power spouted from his very fingertips.

I looked at him as he continued to hold out his hand, expecting me to implode or something.

"Nope"

He suddenly looked at a nearby pole. He redirected his jazz hand towards it, it began to levitate and rotate towards me, the tip of it carving itself pointed.

After a few seconds, it charged at me as fast as the man could make it go. I took a step to the left as it passed by me.

"Please stop" I said.

Flashing light blasted around us, as we were brought to a new location. He looked around himself and I confused how we had been brought to a mountain top.

"If you know of what that can do and what it requires, you know what happens if it doesn't have its requirements" I stated

He removed the ring from his finger and placed it in his pocket.

"Filthy fucking Reality bender, you know what you did, yet you can't play on even ground?" he exclaimed at me.

"It would never be even ground" I said calmly.

"You killed the world, you bitch!" The man was damaged, broken, lost. Nigh inconsolable.

"I did no such thing, you blame me for something I cannot control, if anything, that was your fault" I adjusted my coat.

"Then how are you alive? I saw you. You were closer than us, you died, yet I saw you. The anomalies didn't even see you, they were too busy killing us." The man reached into another pocket pulling out another switchblade.

He charged at me yet again, this time landing a hit on me, it hurt like hell, but he couldn't kill me.

I threw him off of me wiping away the blood pooling in my coat. "I was there to witness it, as I always am, now please, stop this idiotic kerfuffle.

Suddenly he pulls out a large plastic scythe with a blue handle and the blade being painted a light color of red.

That's when I noticed its branding: Dr. Wondertainment's Careful Corpse Creating Csythe TM.

"Put the toy down Silus and listen, I did not cause it, I-" I was interrupted before I could explain as he swung the scythe at me. Direct hit.

The scythe swung right through my stomach, it hurt, but Silus was in more pain than me. I hold myself, as I try to continue:

"I only watch as it happens, as a way to say goodbye to a small in comparison, yet a large portion of my life, I watch, I observe, and I study. I do not cause it often"

Silus stood there in shock, horror etched on his face, before dissipating into the only other I had seen from him.

Silus was growing more desperate as he pulled out SCP-485 and said: "You're the only living person I know anymore, what happens if I press this?" "Nothing? Something? Everything? You die, I die? This world fucking dies?"

"Go ahead, see if you know me"

He clicked it.

Nothing happened.

"Well then" I said, still gripping my stomach tightly, I look down for a second at my wound, nothing too severe I thought, but then I look up once more to the "battle" at hand as Silus attempts to cleave my head off with the scythe.

It started to cut at the flesh before stopping upon reaching my spine.

I grab the scythe with the corresponding arm and pull it away from Silus, disarming him I thought.

He quickly grabbed something hidden underneath his jacket, I originally thought to be another stolen SCP, but it should not be sullied by basic human documentation.

He pulled out an axe, but this axe was different. It was, "Anomalous"

(But you should know that nothing is anomalous.)

He looked at me, his flesh melting off his bones slowly, and yet he didn't even flinch. This man wanted me to die, even at the cost of his own life.

He walked towards me as his body was collapsing inwards on itself. He did not care, he had lost everyone, his friends, family, his home, and his entire race. And yet, here was the supposed perpetrator, uncaring, undying.

What once was a 32-year-old researcher at the foundation was now a walking flesh thing, a survivor of hell, and an incarnation of pain.

He swung at me, missing entirely. He reoriented himself to strike oncemore, miss. In his failure, I threw away the axe, he fell to the floor, crawling towards the axe. I kicked it further, waiting for him to realize what he had done to himself. He continued.

"You have survived hell itself, friend, you are special. You have suffered, but killing me wouldn't fix anything, it might even do quite some bad. As you see, the world is once more, and you are here, I do not know how you are here, but you are. Please, stop this, you are killing yourself."

He attempted to speak, but his lungs were already dead.

I grabbed at his spine, through the mess that was his body, I pulled him up and started to shape him back together. It took 10 minutes, all while he was screaming, shouldn't have put his organs together first. I fixed him, unfortunately, his clothes were forever lost, melded with his very flesh, but he would live.

My scenery changed again, as I collected a coat and pants, then returning to his location.

"Now, put these on and you can tell me how you survived the end of the world, got that axe, and survived for billions of years as this new world progressed to this point."

He told me how he was assigned to SCP-087, then the end came. The SCP-001-1/2 event started and the door behind him closed, he couldn't leave and so he continued downward. But this time nothing happened. He continued down the stairs not hearing anything, not seeing anything. Then his equipment died and he "could only keep going"

Eventually, after 43 hours, a door appeared. He walked through, and. The world was destroyed. Colossal beasts battled as a blue sun 20 times larger and brighter than usual blazed, in the middle of the sky.

Silus looked to the left, then to the right, to his left, was darkness, night, unaffected by the sun. To his right, an eclipse of a regular sun and something that didn't look anything like a moon. Almost like a massive structure.

A man walked towards Silus, a briefcase in hand.

"A world disregarded by the man, by the foundation. A darkness surrounding, a light dying, eternity falters around him. The great dyer. A man- No, a thing responsible for building an end. Dr. Silus, find Dr. Malkin Fallen, end the infinite suffering, end the cycle"

According to Silus, he saw flashing images of me, in an infinite number of resets.

The man gave Silus the briefcase, and let him walk in the world as a ghost, collecting objects to attempt to kill me. He blacked out for an indeterminate amount of time, before waking up near me.

I told him I was not responsible for the cycle, I was trying to stop it, he listened, and I offered him a job to help me. A position on the O5 council. I told him that if he took it, as O5-01, he would be responsible for stopping the regular anomalies from killing people, to manage the foundation he once knew.

He accepted.
He spoke.

"What I went through, no one else should, I don't know what to believe. But even if you are responsible, sure, I'll be your O5, but I will make sure no one has to watch the world they knew, the people they knew die. What once was will never be again, I will make sure of that"
