Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The signals comprising SCP-0 shall be allowed to continue broadcasting for the foreseeable future. Investigation into SCP-0's point of origin is ongoing.
In the event that SCP-0 ceases broadcasting for reasons unknown to the Foundation, an identical recreation has been rendered of signal samples, which is to be broadcast over the appropriate frequencies via Site-91, though it is unknown if the recreation signal will achieve the same anomalous effects as the genuine broadcasts.
Description: SCP-0 refers to two transmissions broadcast throughout the town of ██████, MI, from an unknown point of origin. These transmissions, designated as SCP-0-A and SCP-0-B, are broadcast at frequencies 12965 KHz and 45120 KHz, respectively, at a rate of once per day per discrete broadcast.
SCP-0-A is a slowed rendition of composer Frédéric Chopin's 'Piano Sonata No 2.' with unintelligible background signals largely inseparable from the transmission. SCP-0-B is a similarly distorted rendition of composer Edvard Grieg's 'Suite No. 1, Op. 46,' with similar inseparable background noise.
It is currently understood that SCP-0-A and SCP-0-B are what enable the natural transpiration of birth and death to occur in the town of ██████, MI. SCP-0 was discovered as Site-91 underwent routine testing to probe the 11000 KHz to 50000 KHz frequency range for abnormalities. Though tests were initially inconclusive, SCP-0 remained on Site-91's shortlist and the signals remained indefinitely suspended. Following this, the town of ██████ reported a 100% cessation in deaths within the Federally defined limits of the city for a full 18 months. All pregnant individuals ceased gestation and were subsequently with child for the full 18 month duration, regardless of how long a given fetus had been carried prior to the prevention of SCP-0 reaching the town.
Though the Foundation received word of this abnormality and was tentative to what press was allowed to enter and exit the city of ██████, it was not until after the 18 month duration that the correlation between the city and SCP-0 was established and interception of the signal was suspended.
Below is a recording of Site-91 monitors dialing firstly to SCP-0-B and to SCP-0-A second. Audio clarity software has been utilized to filter out most ambient receptions and better sample each signal, though some background noise is yet present.
Discovery: The anomaly effects imposed by the interception of SCP-0's broadcast were first posited by Senior Researcher ███ Duister following an automobile accident in which a passenger survived full decapitation, as well as ██████ Hospital ceasing life support to various patients via their given wills, only to discover continued brain and organ function despite a complete lack of vital signs. Site-91's interception of SCP-0 ended after the aforementioned 18 months, at which point a reported 241 elderly died simultaneously and a record 192 infants were born in ██████ Hospital. Class C amnestics were administered at large to the appropriate areas, though a cover-up was fabricated which attributed the prolonged gestation periods and sudden deaths to high potassium content in local drinking water.
