Still taken from a video of SCP-XXXX
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The balloon SCP-XXXX currently inhabits is to be tied down with at least four ropes and located outside of Site-██ near the [REDACTED]. At least two radio transmitters are to be constantly be broadcasting random audio files for SCP-XXXX to feed on. SCP-XXXX will not attempt to breach containment as long as this need is met.
Colonies of SCP-XXXX may exist in the wild. However, due to its speed, it is extremely unlikely for information about them to be collected and published by non-foundation personnel.
Any attempts made by the queen of SCP-XXXX to escape is to be prevented via the use of [DATA EXPUNGED].
Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of mechanical worm-like organisms that commonly inhabit balloons. It is hypothesized by head researcher Dr. ███████ that SCP-XXXX utilizes these balloons as a way of being protected while moving throughout the air. SCP-XXXX has a eusocial life cycle: with a queen producing workers which collect food. This food is mainly radio waves, although other food sources are consumed in times of need.
Worker instances of SCP-XXXX collect radio waves with the help of numerous sharp microscopic bristles. The bristles catch the waves and converts it to electricity. The workers will consume some of the electricity for energy, but will otherwise bring a majority back to the queen of SCP-XXXX for it to consume and create more workers. These hairs are malleable and can fuse together to create larger bristles and other structures for different food sources.
Any attempt to study workers of SCP-XXXX often end early due to their nature. Workers will explode in approximately ten to thirty seconds after death or capture, completely removing any evidence of their existence. From the scarce information collected, it is assumed that SCP-XXXX is either a highly evolved species of annelid, a product of genetic engineering, or completely separate fro[DATA EXPUNGED].
