Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5007 is located in the break room of Site 38, and Foundation personnel are permitted to interact with it when not currently charged with any duties. Dr. Parcel should check SCP-5007 at least twice per week, and report any changes in the activity of SCP-5007-1 should they occur.

Description: SCP-5007 is a rotary-dial telephone manufactured by ██████████ in 1931. All studies have determined the object to possess no abnormalities of any kind. However, upon listening to the receiver, an individual will, regardless of whether SCP-5007 has been dialed or is even connected to a power source, hear a male voice estimated to be in his forties, which has been designated SCP-5007-1. All attempts to communicate with SCP-5007-1 have failed, and it is unknown if this is due to SCP-5007 malfunctioning (although inspections have found no mechanical issues) or SCP-5007-1 simply ignoring anyone who tries speaking to it. Instead, SCP-5007-1 will indefinitely rant about various disagreements it is having or has had with who it claims to be its former wife. Additionally, all attempts to trace the call or identify SCP-5007-1 have failed, and it is unknown if SCP-5007-1 exists in reality or is simply some sort of incorporeal voice.

"Yeah I bought stock in Yahoo, and no I don't think that gives her any reason to run off with the kids! It's not like we use our wedding rings anyway! Growing up, my dad always told me, 'Don't be a pushover, there's always somebody waiting to snub you with a Hot Pocket.' I mean, why should she care if I melt down her family heirloom to add to the dining room centerpiece?! It's what she wanted!"

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-5008, it cannot be moved. As such, the surrounding 100 square meters have been designated Site 46. A misinformation campaign is to be conducted indefinitely, explaining that entry to the area has been prohibited by the German government due to containing active ordinance and deadly toxins left from First and Second World War battles. Any unauthorized individuals attempting to approach should be immediately detained by Foundation personnel disguised as German police. Following interrogation, detainees should be transferred to real German authorities for further processing.

Description: SCP-5008 is a forest located in Bavaria, Germany. Any humans who exceed the forest boundary by approximately ten meters will invariably be attacked by the trees with lethal force, which have been designated SCP-5008-1. It is unknown why SCP-5008-1 only attacks humans (see Test Log 5008-2 and 3). Aside from this, SCP-5008, by all accounts, appears indistinguishable from an ordinary forest in the region; all attempts to discover the source of the abnormality have failed or been inconclusive.

Test Log 5008-1:

Foreword: D-1892 is a 27-year-old Caucasian male of average physique and appearance and normal mental state. The subject is equipped with a head-mounted GoPro camera, the video feed of which is being observed by Dr. ██████ and his team.

<0:05> D-1892 steps beyond the determined boundary of SCP-5008.

<0:07> D-1982: "Soooo… I just keep going? There ain't nothin' here."

<0:09> Dr. ██████: "Please continue."

<0:38> Many of SCP-5008-1 begin swaying to a highly notable degree, despite the lack of wind.

<0:42> Many of SCP-5008-1 bend downward, coming within less than five meters of D-1982.

<0:56> D-1982: "Uhhh… doc? I might just be seein' things, but a lotta these trees're lookin' at me weird."

<0:58> Dr.██████: "Please clarify."

<1:00> D-1982: "Well, I don't think trees're s'posed to bend like that. There something goin' on here y'all ain't tell-"

<1:05> D-1982 is cut off when one of SCP-5008-1 swings and strikes him in the back. Video feed goes dark as the camera faces the ground when D-1982 lands face-first.

<1:07> Dr. ██████: "D-1982? What's going on?"

<1:09> Video feed is restored as D-1982 rolls over onto his back.

<1:10> D-1982: "Jesus fucking Christ, I think my fucking back is broken! What the hell h-"

<1:12> Another one of SCP-5008-1 bends forward to appear in video feed.

<1:13> D-1982: "Oh God."

<1:14> SCP-5008-1 rapidly descends to obscure video feed, which then cuts off entirely. From Dr. ██████'s observation position, distant crashing sounds and screams can be heard for approximately the next ten seconds.

Test Log 5008-2:

Foreword: Test is being conducted 26 hours following Test 5008-1. Subject is an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) equipped with a camera and speaker. Dr. ██████ is observing again.

<0:00> UGV is driven past the determined boundary of SCP-5008.

<1:02> UGV reaches the approximated last location of D-1982. UGV's forensic analyzer detects minor traces of blood, later confirmed to belong to D-1982, but no other signs of the subject.

<1:37> None of SCP-5008-1 display any of the previously observed behavior. Dr. ██████ speaks through UGV's speaker: "Testing. Testing. One, two, three."

<2:11> Still no abnormal behavior from SCP-5008-1. Dr. ██████ speaks again: "Testing. Testing. One, two, three."

<2:15> One of SCP-5008-1 appears in video feed, hovering over UGV. SCP-5008-1 moves in a circular motion around UGV. Dr. ██████ increases the speaker's volume to maximum and speaks: "Testing. Testing. One, two, three."

<2:43> SCP-5008-1 leaves video feed to return to its original position. UGV is driven back and out of SCP-5008.

Closing Statement: Following this test, Dr. ██████ submitted a formal request that his team be approved for animal testing. The O5 Council approved this request.
