Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is contained inside a specialized research center located at the discovery site. An 8x8 specialized containment room was constructed around and underneath SCP-XXXX. Direct access to the containment room requires clearance from level 2 research personnel or higher.

SCP-XXXX is to be checked every four hours for the presence of SCP-XXXX-1 or after an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is observed within the containment room. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be immediately removed, stored in standard wildlife observation containers and secured in a separate containment room maintained at a constant -3°C.

SCP-XXXX

Description: SCP-5133 is a small pond, approximately 4.48 square meters in surface area and 1.86 meters deep at its lowest point. SCP-5133 was discovered on the property of the deceased Winston Baxter (See Addendum XXXX-B) by real-estate agent Kate N███. The reports described anomalous wildlife, assumed to be SCP-XXXX-1, which were discovered during the initial inspection of the property. Following the discovery of SCP-XXXX, Kate N███ was administered class B amnestics and all reports were seized. The property previously owned by Winston Baxter was approximately 4.6 Acres in size and located in the rural area of ████████, France. The majority of the property appeared unmaintained with the exception of a small garden to the south of the main residence. SCP-XXXX was found inside the garden and displayed signs of being constructed by Winston Baxter after the purchase of the property. Despite the absence of human inhabitants or caretakers, the garden appeared to be well maintained with various flowers and plants in a state of efflorescence. The property has since been claimed and sectioned off by the Foundation under the guise of a Wildlife Preservation Charity center.

SCP-XXXX-1 will regularly be produced from beneath the water of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 is formed when the water inside SCP-XXXX anomalously molds itself into the shape of SCP-XXXX-1 and materializes into a separate entity within seconds of the initial formation. SCP-XXXX produces a varying number of SCP-XXXX-1 every several hours with a minimum of 1 instance every 8 hours. The number of SCP-XXXX-1 produced appears to be dependent on the amount of currently active SCP-XXXX-1. Greater numbers will be produced when the amount of SCP-XXXX-1 in containment is below standard. Upon termination of each currently active SCP-XXXX-1 instance, SCP-XXXX was observed to produce 20 instances of SCP-XXXX-1 within 2 hours of the termination.

SCP-XXXX-1 initially appears to be a non-anomalous Columbia Spotted Frog, however, SCP-XXXX-1's 'flesh' beneath the skin consists exclusively of varying types of fruit. The classification of fruit varies and appears to be randomly determined when SCP-XXXX-1 is formed within SCP-XXXX. The types of fruit which comprise the inside of SCP-XXXX-1 entities show no pattern, save for the commonality of the endemicity of the fruits being exclusive to North America.

SCP-XXXX-1 appear to voluntarily remain within 3 meters of the edge of SCP-XXXX but will not resist when picked up or lured away. SCP-XXXX-1 are extremely docile and show no signs of behavioral changes when harmed or in the presence of aggressive predators. At all times, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 act and appear as regular Columbia Spotted Frogs in their natural environment, even when completely removed from SCP-XXXX. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will regularly prey upon insects commonly eaten by Columbia Spotted Frogs, if available. However, SCP-XXXX-1 does not appear to require any sustenance to remain active and forced starvation of instances showed no changes in behavior.

If the skin of SCP-XXXX-1 is broken or damaged and the fruit inside is exposed the entity will begin to rot at a continuous rate similar to that of standard exposed fruit. The rate of decomposition is accelerated if SCP-XXXX-1 maintains an internal temperature >4°C. However, an internal temperature of <-2°C is shown to have the opposite effect and will inhibit the decomposition of SCP-XXXX-1 indefinitely. If the fruit has rotted to the point that it is no longer safe to consume the entity will cease all signs of life and will become inactive. Unrestricted remains of SCP-XXXX-1 have demonstrated rapid decomposition and various plant life grown from soil fertilized by the remains of an SCP-XXXX-1 have grown to be approximately 165% larger than average with no other anomalous properties. Further testing has determined that the fruit inside SCP-XXXX-1 contains upwards of three times the regular amount of vitamins and sugar that their respective fruit normally contains.

Upon consumption, subjects reported that SCP-XXXX-1 tastes "much better" than a regular fruit of the same type. The skin and eyes also taste like fruit with subjects reporting the taste as "very sweet". Subjects typically begin to show side effects within 48 hours of consuming SCP-XXXX-1. The effects vary depending on the classification of fruit, however, no instance of SCP-XXXX-1 has induced negative or otherwise harmful side effects. (See Addendum XXXX-A)

The antibodies will successfully eliminate any trace of invasive microbes before symptoms manifest, rendering D-8443 immune to any recurrent disease.	The subject displayed an increased willingness to co-operate with staff. The subject began to make continuous attempts at conversing with staff, often with prompts such as "Hello dear, how are you feeling today?" or "Mornin' sonny, I hope you ate a healthy breakfast today." . If engaged in conversation, D-8443 would repeatedly ask staff about their physical and mental health. After patiently listening to the response he would often suggest that they eat more vegetables and take frequent breaks while working.
Lycopersicum (tomato)	D-7017: Hispanic male, age 24. Diagnosed with mild asthma.	D-7017's epidermis developed a resistance to ultraviolet radiation. Follow up examinations indicated that D-7017 show no changed in melanin levels.	Subject D-7017 would often prompt staff leaving the building to use headwear while stating the negative effects of sunburn. The subject would often emphasize the possibility of skin cancer then claim his 'Aunt Gemma' died to the illness. Note: D-7017 has no known deceased relative by the name 'Gemma' or history of skin cancer in his family.
Asimina triloba (Pawpaw)	D-3266: Caucasian male, age 64. D-3266 suffers from left ventricle damage after a myocardial infarction (heart attack) at age 61.	D-3266's lungs began to oxygenate hydrocarbon, taken from triglycerides originating in D-3266's body tissue. This allowed the subject's sebaceous glands to produce mild amounts of acetogenin which acted as a potent non-insecticidal repellent.	D-3266 would occasionally suggest the staff wear 'bugspray' when outdoors. When questioned on his behavior D-3266 would often make remarks such as "Them critters are awfully active this time of night." and similar statements regarding the potential frequency of insect bites.
Vaccinium angustifolium (wild lowbush blueberry)	D-9749: African/Caucasian female, age 38. Diagnosed with depression and acute anxiety disorder.	D-9749 rapidly produced large amounts of antioxidants which acted as a natural anti-depressant. The subject also displayed elevated levels of energy, major improvements in mood and a decrease in anxiety.	The subject displayed no major changes in personality, however D-9479 claimed an unseen presence would frequently comfort her during times of high stress and anxiety. Neither D-9479 or staff could see the presence but the subject described the experience as feeling similar to that of being warmly embraced by a maternal figure.
Gaylussacia baccata (black huckleberry)	D-3454: Asian/Caucasian male, aged 44. No major health complications.	D-3454 began to exhibit extreme pain tolerance. The subject reported the pain level of a 6.7-centimeter deep incision in his lower abdomen as feeling similar to a previous case of "mild food poisoning".	The subject began to display concern towards staff with any visible open wounds, often minor injuries. After visually confirming an injury D-3454 would suggest it be disinfected with soap and water then politely ask other staff to provide the person with a bandage. If D-3454 is informed that the injury has already been treated and disinfected, he would show visible signs of relief. In response, D-3454 was once noted as saying "Sometimes I forget how fast you kids grow up, already able to take care of yourselves now."

Addendum XXXX-B: Following the discovery of SCP-XXXX, a background check on Winston Baxter was requested and approved. Notable results include the following; Baxter was found deceased in his residence at the age of 86, several months before the discovery of SCP-XXXX. Baxter in was born in ██████, Minnesota then moved to ████████, France following the death of his wife Carly Baxter and son Daniel Baxter in a motor vehicle accident. Winston Baxter survived the incident with life alerting injuries to his spinal cord and hip bone which restricted his movement. Afterword, Baxter won a settlement for $█ million USD and purchased the property in ████████, France. The following is a transcript of an interview conducted with Baxter's closest known acquaintance, Judith Corne.

<BEGIN LOG>

Dr. B: Thank you for coming to this interview Mrs. Corne.

Mrs. Corne: Oh it's quite alright dear, I have had a lot of spare time since I retired so it's no trouble.

Dr. B: I understand you were acquainted with Winston Baxter before his passing, is that right?

Mrs. Corne: Yes, sweet old Winston. Such a kind man he was. I'll miss him dearly.

Dr. B: And I understand that you were the one who found him deceased in his home, was there anything unusual about the way you discovered his body?

Mrs. Corne: Nothing unusual, I decided to visit him after he didn't return my calls for a few days and I found him in his bed. Everything seemed so normal that I thought he was just sleeping in late but when he didn't respond to my presence and I got closer, I realized he must have passed in his sleep. It's an inevitable outcome for us old folk but when my time comes I hope it's in a similar manner. At least he seemed at peace.

Dr. B: Can you describe your relationship with Mr. Baxter?

Mrs. Corne: We were friends and neighbors. He moved to our village when I was much younger and I wanted to make sure he settled in right. His French wasn't very good at first but he became a good conversationalist and I would often visit him with my daughter for lunch and a chat.

Dr. B: How was Mr. Baxter when you visited him?

Mrs. Corne: Oh he got better over the years. Eventually he started growing that old garden in his backyard to occupy himself and I think he got much better after that. Everybody needs something to occupy themselves, you know? He even began digging that pond of his at some point. He couldn't walk long distances so I'm glad he found a hobby he could still do.

Dr. B: Did you ever notice anything unusual about his behavior?

Mrs. Corne: Well, I did notice he didn't like talking about his past in America. I assumed he wanted to move on from something so I tried not to pry but there isn't much to do in a small town. We would chat so often that the circumstances of his family would come up occasionally. He told me that most of his garden is fruit and berries that reminded him of better times, when he still had his wife and son.

Dr. B: What do you know about Mr. Baxter's past?

Mrs. Corne: I know he loved his family very much and he had a few particular stories he would often retell. He would talk about the little garden he started with his wife and how his son loved the blueberries they would grow. When Daniel was a baby he would wake up crying at night so he would hold him and sit on the porch until he fell back asleep. He says the cool air and steady sound of frogs croaking from the lake nearby would always help Daniel fall back asleep.

<Mrs. Corne pauses for a few moments before continuing>

Mrs. Corne: Actually, when I visited him in the evening, I would often find him sitting in a chair by that pond he dug himself. Just sitting there with his eyes closed and listening. That poor man, I think he was always trying to honor their memory in the little ways he still could.

Dr. B: Did you happen to see or hear any frogs around that pond or near Mr. Baxter's garden?

Mrs. Corne: Frogs? Oh, heavens no. It was far too small of a pond for any frogs to actually live in there. In all my years I never saw a single one.

Dr. B: Thank you Mrs. Corne, I believe that concludes our interview for now.
