Item #: SCP-XXXX maxresdefault.jpg
Object Class: Eulcid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be locked and contained in a bullet proof glass box placed within a pressurised safe and monitored at all time via a camera set up inside the safe by personnel. At least two armed personnel are required to enter SCP-XXXX's containment chamber if subject is observed to display activity that could be interpreted as hostile. Personnel are also prohibited from interacting with SCP XXXX-1 unless for testing purposes. SCP-XXXX is not to be taken out of containment unless for test purposes.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small plush doll resembling the fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series "Miles "Tails" Prower". The doll also bares an unusual red gemstone that hangs from it's head. The doll is popularly known in urban legend as "Tails Doll". The doll has been known to become animate on several occasions, sometimes displaying a disturbing expression with glowing red eyes and it's gemstone brightly glowing.

Some personnel report that they feel as if it is "watching" them. Personnel have also been found dead not long after prior interaction with SCP-XXXX. The nature of SCP-XXXX's method of killing is unknown. After extensive studies, it has been found it prefers to target those who have interacted with SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a copy of the game "Sonic Gems Collection", after someone has performed a ritual in one of the game's titles, "Sonic R". The ritual involves going into the game's "tag mode", playing as the character "Tails Doll", and tagging all characters, leaving the character "Super Sonic" last. Alternatively, coming in first place against the character "Super Sonic" as "Tails Doll" on the stage named "Radiant Emerald" is an alternative method of performing said ritual. Any copy of "Sonic Gems Collection" in which the ritual is performed becomes another SCP-XXXX-1, though SCP-XXXX's connection to SCP-XXXX-1 is still inconclusive, as further study is required.

Though various SCP-XXXX-1's are still in circulation among the public, there is no risk posed to those who own any SCP-XXXX-1's due to SCP XXXX's containment, however, on site personnel are still at risk with any interaction with SCP-XXXX-1 due to SCP-XXXX-1 acting as a potential gateway for SCP-XXXX to breach it's containment if said SCP is used on the premises. Furthermore, after experiments conducted to determine whether other editions of “Sonic R” including the Saturn versions and PC ports, we have concluded that only the “Sonic Gems Collection” port has the potentiality to become SCP-XXXX-1.

Said experiments were conducted within the same room as SCP-XXXX with three D-Class personnel playing the game on the specific platforms they were released on, each one performing the required ritual. SCP-XXXX only began to show signs of activity after the ritual was performed on the “Sonic Gems Collection” port. After the experiments, we recorded the activity of the subject that performed the ritual on “Sonic Gems Collection” daily. Every day we received a report from the subject on his experiences after the performing of the ritual.

Day 1 The subject reports sleep loss due to experiencing nightmares featuring SCP-XXXX.
Day 2 The subject reports feelings of paranoia, reporting he feels as though he is being “watched”. Furthermore, he reports seeing things from the corner of his eyes, though the nature of these sights is unconfirmed.
Day 3 The subject seemed incredibly distressed. Various reports of sightings of SCP-XXXX. Also reports breifly hearing the song titled “Can You Feel The Sunshine?”, a song part of “Sonic R”'s soundtrack, faintly from enclosed spaces in his house.
Day 4 SCP-XXXX is found to be missing from it's container. The subject is found dead in his residence. SCP-XXXX is found lying in the back left corner of his room in it's inanimate state. SCP-XXXX is retrieved and placed back into containment.

An interview was conducted on June the 19th [REDACTED] with someone who performed the ritual but did not encounter SCP-XXXX prior to it's containment. The names of the interviewer and the interviewed have been changed due to security purposes.

Frank: So, where do you want me to begin?

Dr. Maxwell: Just tell me what you did on that night.

Frank: Well, it all started in around August 2007, my friends were going on about this "Tails Doll curse" that was popular all of the internet. (During the particular year, the SCP-XXXX-1 ritual was popular among kids and teens, treating it in a similar fashion to the "Bloody Mary" fad). One of my friends had a copy of "Sonic Gems Collection", and he wanted to invite us over to try it.

Dr. Maxwell: How did you feel about that?

Frank: I was… kinda nervous, but also a little excited. We wanted to see if this thing was "real" or not, you know!?
Dr. Maxwell: What is it that were you trying to see if it was "real"?
Frank: Isn't it obvious? I'm talking about the Tails Doll, man! A-anyway, we went to his house later on that night, had some laughs, played some games, yadda yadda, then we did it. Th-the curse, I mean. I swear, I couldn't get a single hour of sleep afterwards! Sometimes I would hear my dog barking in the backyard. I was kinda worried that maybe it had seen "it". But… the next day, I woke up, and everything was fine. Nothing happened.
Dr. Maxwell: Do you think what you did had worked or not?

Frank: I dunno, man. Sometimes I kinda still feel like it's after me, like it's just waiting for the right moment or something. I dunno, it's been so long since then, I'm kinda starting to think the entire thing was a hoax after all. But part of me still feels a little doubt.
Dr. Maxwell: Thank you for co-operation.
Frank: No problem.

Closing Statement: Judging on what the interviewed has said, SCP-XXXX has the capacity to spare some of it's victims, or at least prolong their deaths
