Instances of SCP-XXXX-a during a roaming period.
Item #: SCP-X
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Any location deemed to be possible for an activation event of SCP-X is to be accessed and foundation agents will be planted in the surrounding area for information. During an active period, any entrance into the area of SCP-X is to be cleared of citizens and those already inside must be escorted away if possible. Class-C Amnesiacs will be administered to surviving victims and an MTF of personnel with varying faiths of resounding strength are to be sent inside. There is no unifying theme towards the buildings or areas that cause an SCP-X event, though it has not activated in an area with a human population of more than 20,000. SCP-X now activates on a bi-yearly cycle, with events lasting from two and a half to three days.
All visual and audio recordings of SCP-X are to be examined under the discretion of the active head of containment, while written work is to be examined for possible memetic effects and may be available for viewing if no threat is present; otherwise, destruction of documentation is imperative. In the event of a memetic breach of SCP-X text, class-C amnesiacs are to be administered to the affected individual(s) with a 90% success rate; though personnel are prohibited from interacting with SCP-X in the future. If a foundation personnel outside of SCP-X is named, afflicted individual will be given class-C amnesiacs, monitored for anomalous activity; and if applicable will be removed from containment of SCP-X. Any instances of SCP-X-B seen outside of the area of SCP-X are to be neutralized.
Description: SCP-X is a spacial phenomenon that occurs in various places of worship and organized religion; resembling an active spiritual congression with no known faith corresponding to it. SCP-X has no actual basis in any religious organization that it has activated inside; though it has been seen to involve rituals that might be seen as blasphemous by the church it is currently occupying. Any recordings of the area inside an SCP-X event are heavily distorted and rendered unusable for information-gathering, while written work related to SCP-X proves more complicated. During an activation event, multiple entities resembling humans with various features such as empty eye sockets and moss covering their skin appear and begin to perform actions in the context of the religious organization, the classification for these entities is attached for further information. There is no known limit on the number of entities inside SCP-X; or the space inside SCP-X, as the area has been seen to grow exponentially even when the effect of SCP-X remained located in a single story ancient praying hut.
SCP-X events are all completely different in context and activities; though a timeline of events has been established for the phenomenon. While entities that are seen inside the area take on multiple instances; designed SCP-X-A through SCP-X-D though there are multiple instances that have only appeared in single instances. A choir will sing through the activated area during its opening period, lasting anywhere from twenty to thirty hours. This chorus can influence humans to enter the activated instance of SCP in which case their mental capacities will be overwritten and they will become an instance of SCP-X-C, though specific situations have occurred where citizens were transformed into uncategorized entities inside; and this can be prevented by strong willpower and "faith" in a religion outside of SCP-X. This has resulted in the current containment procedures involving MTF of strong religious faith and background. Before the activation of an SCP-X event the region surrounding the area of SCP-X's effect will become infested with SCP-X-B. A timeline for an SCP-X event is attached at the end of the description.
SCP-X also appears to be a memetic agent; as any written text describing the experiences or activities inside the anomalous region can alter without any known reason, often times using the descriptive language of the text to obfuscate and render the text almost meaningless. This can be countered by using basic signifiers for every element inside SCP-X, and while the text is memetic in its action, it does not compel readers towards activities related towards SCP-X. However, material found inside SCP-X has much more active function, and can force people who read it to [DATA EXPUNGED]. After Site-██'s breach and ████████████ material found inside SCP-X is to be destroyed on site.
00-30 hours: SCP-X-A begin to roam through the area of SCP-X; the location will still resemble its original point; though that changes as the entities explore SCP-X. Recordings of SCP-X show them speaking and scavenging for items; though the context of any of their speech is unknown and items seen to be picked up by SCP-X-A have no constant theme. During this period the choir will activate and attempt to lure humans into SCP-X. If SCP-X-A encounters a human from outside SCP-X who has not morphed into an instance of SCP-X-C they will attempt to capture the human for use in a later ritual; if no human is found at the end of this point the ritual will not occur; which can be accomplished by constant vigilance on the entrances of SCP-X. SCP-X-C will enter the event area to a minimum of ███, though it has been noted on several activation events for no humans to be seen going into the area while they enter. SCP-X-A will enter anomalous regions of space that should not exist by the confines of the affected area, where they have been seen to [DATA EXPUNGED], see expedition-XXXX-06 for more information.
20-40 hours: At this point, SCP-X has changed completely in location and no known recordings have been seen of this location; though descriptions of the location mention pillars of voided mirrors and pews of rotten wood. The SCP-X-D entity will "introduce" itself to the affected area through and begin to perform a sermon that will continue for the rest of the event, and instances of SCP-X-A will start to assemble various ceremonial activities using the items scavenged during the first 30~ hours. These have included a pyre made of greased flesh and a "Guillotine that reached up to heaven.". SCP-X-C will congregate to hear SCP-X-D though multiple groups of SCP-X-C will begin to roam the area of SCP-X and assault other instances and entities. Specifically, after a full 24 hours has passed since activation; it has been noted for a large portion of SCP-X-C to commit a large sacrilegious activity inside SCP-X. This has involved instances of burning large amounts of written work, cannibalism, and self-immolation.
50-72 hours: SCP-X-D's sermon increases in fervor and intensity. There have been seen to be █ instances of SCP-X-C left and the SCP-X-A entities "dissolve into the floor". If a person was discovered during the opening period a ritual occurs involving that person to varying degrees of intensity and severity. MTF can execute procedures to clear the area and execute SCP-X-D and if a human was discovered inside SCP-X during this period it is imperative for the MTF to execute them as well. After every other entity in the instance of SCP-X is removed. SCP-X-B will descend from the sky and begin to devour the area of SCP-X. SCP-X is considered inactive and the localized anomalous space inside the building/location will resemble its original area within a period of 10-24 hours.
Often times SCP-X will include various interluding activities during every period in the timeline; such as the hatching of SCP-X-B or instances of SCP-X-C giving birth. These events may not happen in every active event of SCP-X however, and their importance in any of the events inside the anomalous area remains unclear.
Descriptions of the entities within SCP-X are as follows:
SCP-X-A during final moments of E-X-██.
SCP-X-A: Referred to as "Vestals". SCP-X-A are seen as harvesting and security units and appear wearing various religious clothing throughout the world and indeed human history. SCP-X-A will often group up in numbers up to twenty-two. Though similar in appearance to a normal member of the Human species at least within the first 24 hours; SCP-X-A has features that immediately reference their place in the caste system; and anomalous abilities that warrant SCP-X-A as a threat during activation periods. Vestals will attempt to collect materials for rituals involving SCP-X while speaking in an unknown language amongst themselves. SCP-X-A will often bend the area of effect to their will; bending rooms from stone walls and raising far-reaching pillars. Though they have exceptional abilities that far exceed that of a normal human; SCP-X-A do not have any increased survivability, and have been proven to be taken down with man-made arms. As the SCP-X event continues, Vestals will change appearance drastically; slowly beginning to take on insectoid features such as eye stalks and outgrowths capable of flight and chirping similar to an American grasshopper. Slightly increased durability and greatly decreased sentience has been noted in these stages of growth.

SCP-X-C: The denomination of SCP-X and referred to as "The CURSED". SCP-X-C are social and flock in crowds; and unlike every other entity inside SCP-X, are actual human beings of both sexes; as proven through forensic analysis and [DATA REDACTED]. Though SCP-X-C are unnaturally aware of events in the world outside SCP-X; the entities inside will remain in whatever clothing they brought with them; including in one case a person wearing an ancient robe dated to the Mesopotamian era. SCP-X-C are aggressive and often times exhibit sacrilegious behavior, often times attacking other members of SCP-X-C and even occasionally SCP-X-A; though this has proven fatal for SCP-X-C. Though every instance SCP-X-C can and will die during the period of SCP-X, instances are unique and named with the most recent instance being █████████ who was influenced by the memetic effects of written documentation of SCP-X, though it is imperative that those inside SCP-X-C remain unnamed in their identification and be referred to as The CURSED inside and outside of SCP-X. It is seen for entities inside who are visually distinct from SCP-X-C to coexist inside the social groups of SCP-X-C; these entities range from a Madagascan tree whose roots were used for locomotion to an unidentified creature resembling an insect of the Cicadoidea family with the head of a Lamprey. Data analysis has revealed these creatures as also being human; though they are only used for rituals and activities performed by SCP-X-A and are not seen as permanent entities inside SCP-X.
SCP-X-D: Named "Vicar" in documentation and materials found inside SCP-X. SCP-X-D acts as the higher authority inside SCP-X; commanding the entities inside the area in their actions and motivations. SCP-X-D has not been seen inside SCP-X despite a thorough search by MTF; however, The Vicar's harangue is always present within SCP-X, at times exceeding 250 decibels according to testing equipment. The speech of SCP-X-D has been explained as something without human reference, though felt in a physical way, often times incoherent rambling and [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-X-D's voice has been shown to bear memetic effects that can influence humans to enter SCP-X and written documentation of the text of SCP-X-D's speech has proven memetic as well. Non-human species introduced to the sound of The Vicar experience extreme distress and will die of ruptured blood vessels within three minutes. Though not seen inside the anomalous area; SCP-X-D has knowledge of the interior of SCP-X and has referenced other anomalous entities contained by the foundation including SCP-035, SCP-███-█ and SCP-2337; if referred to by name by SCP-X-D, any personnel inside SCP-X will become targeted for the ritual by other entities inside and are advised to escape the anomalous area as soon as possible. The nature and motives of SCP-X-D remain unclear; though it presents a serious threat to SCP-X's security, and its speech has been described as ███████ or [DATA REDACTED] possibly resulting in a CK-Class reality restructuring event.
During an activation in the early period of containment for SCP-X, a scroll with written text was discovered inside the abdomen of a specimen used for sacrifice in a ritual stopped by MTF; the only material extracted from SCP-X. After retrieval and debriefing from MTF forces, the written work was contained nearby on Site-██ and any image-related articles were destroyed as employed by containment protocol. During a period of six days, the documents were studied when suddenly contact was lost with the site. Though information related to the breach is unknown. Site-██ was empty after MTF forces entered the area, and it was theorized that the site itself became host to an SCP-X event. The next event occurred three months later; the first instance where SCP-X activated twice in a year, and MTF forces explained after the event that SCP-X-D shouted "█████", the name of the active head of containment for SCP-X. █████ was given Class-C amnesiacs and removed from containment.
