Will Anomaler

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a 1 square kilometer perimeter, split from the sea with a perimeter made from floating carbon fibre mesh net, large enough to let fauna in but small enough to stop SCP-XXXX from breaching containment. The net is to be kept optimal. Any non Foundation vessel is to be kept from entering the area, especially with diving purposes.

A small Foundation floating outpost is to be kept achored just outside the perimeter. Instruments needed for SCP-XXXX's dental health are to be stored in the outpost and any supplies must be replenished. It is not needed for personel to be located in the outpost at all times, but at least one researcher with skills in odontology is to be kept ready to make haste to SCP-XXXX. When visiting the entity one medium to large sized alive animal along with a dose of elephant tranquilizer must be brought to calm down the anomaly. 5 buoys equiped with ropes and buoyancy sensors are to be kept inside the perimeter in case of infection.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 30 meter tall (not counting in tail length) specimen of meerkat (Suricata suricatta), residing in the Sargasso Sea, current coordinates being 36.307144, -70.269531. It appears to be mostly sedentary, floating in a standing position while anchored to the seafloor with an unusually long tail curled against a hook like rock. The entity does not require to breath, drink, eat nor defecate, although it's midly hostile to all lifeforms unless pacified with food. It will ocasionally unhook itself from the seafloor and swim upwards to eat sargasso seaweed accumulating on the surface of the sea or any passing animal.

SCP-XXXX is fully sentient and is capable of speech through telepathy with humanity, as well as being able to use tools. It has a great deal of knowledge of the current happenings in the world, as well as being able to predict any events having to do with the Atlantic Ocean, such as the sinking of a ship. When asked about its premonition, it responds with "The Gods told me so."

The entity has a lower than average (compared to the regular meerkat) of tooth enamel, exposing its teeth to sporadical bacterial infections. The bacteria seem to originate spontaneously, appearing at least once every 3 years and dissapearing without any trace after 5 months of infection. SCP-XXXX is very agressive as such infections cause great pain, and will lash out to any lifeforms, mostly by consuption. In this state, SCP-XXXX will try to breach containment and reach locations of animal gatherings, including human ships, which it will attempt to destroy and eat.

Such breaches can be contained with human treatment for similar infections. SCP-XXXX is fully concious during its rages, and it has been taught to pull the ropes on the previously mentioned buoys to summon Foundation staff for treatement.

SCP-XXXX was discovered after a ship crossing its area was attacked by an unknown entity. Mobile Task Force Gamma-6 ("Deep Feeders") was dispatched to investigate, encountering SCP-XXXX right after its infection passed. It willingly agreed containment, although it expressed reluctance at the prospect of removal from its area. It has been in containment since 1987.

Addendum XXXX-B Transcript of an interview with SCP-XXXX after being treated of its infection.

BEGIN LOG, 10 April 2007.

Dr. ████████:: Hello SCP-XXXX

SCP-XXXX:: Oh welcome back dear human! I must thank you for treating that horrible disease of mine.

Dr. ████████: No need for them XXXX. I would like to ask you some questions.

SCP-XXXX: Ask away doc.

Dr. ████████: What is your earliest memory?

SCP-XXXX: Oh, that's a long time ago doc. I remember being placed here as a pup by the Gods. They told me to simply live my life freely in the vast ocean. So I have done that for many years. Well, until you contained me, but I'm happy anyways.

Dr. ████████: Thank you for the information XXXX. I'm afraid I must go.

SCP-XXXX: Leaving so early doc? I enjoyed your company. Keep away from the whiskey cetacean from Scandinavia.

Dr. ████████: What did you say?

SCP-XXXX: Remember it!

END LOG
