DATA SHEET
Item #: SCP-XXXXObject Class: Euclid, Uncontained
[In the course of the containment breach outlined in Attachment XXXX-7, SCP-XXXX escaped from Foundation custody and has yet to be recovered. Most portions of this SCP-file, including the Special Containment Procedures contained herein, have been maintained as they existed at that time; this was done in order to assist in generating refined containment procedures and Object Classification should SCP-XXXX be apprehended and returned to foundation custody. Notable amendments resulting from the escape of SCP-XXXX are sizeable redactions of information made to Attachment XXXX-6: Interview 02 and the inclusion Attachment XXXX-7: Event Log – Containment Breach and Escape of SCP-XXXX.]
Special Containment Procedures:
[SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a standard anomalous-object containment vault on-site at Containment Facility █████████████. Any vault selected to store SCP-XXXX will be secured with standard-or-higher anomalous-object theft prevention measures as outlined in [document redacted] and facility-specific Standard Operating Procedures. During periodic cleanings of SCP-XXXX’s containment vault, the vault interior will be actively monitored by foundation research personnel via non-anomalous audio-visual recording device. At such times as personnel are present within SCP-XXXX’s containment vault, a minimum of (2) armed security personnel will be present outside SCP-XXXX’s vault in order to respond to any attempt by D-class personnel to steal or otherwise tamper with SCP-XXXX’s containment measures.
In order to mitigate the risk to information-security posed by SCP-XXXX’s anomalous sentience and telepathic abilities, only D-class personnel are permitted to enter SCP-XXXX’s containment vault. All D-class personnel required to enter within 1.5 meter proximity to SCP-XXXX for the purpose of maintenance or testing will be subject to disposal immediately following the completion of their tasking. Failure by research staff to ensure the disposal of D-class personnel as outline in this document are subject to immediate disciplinary action.
Any research personnel who erroneously enter within 1.5 meter proximity to SCP-XXXX will immediately receive amnestics in order to prevent a breach of information security and will be discharged for incompetence from Foundation Services. Research personnel whose Foundation Individual Personnel File (FIPF) already contains two or more non-satisfactory Foundation Personnel Performance-Reports will have their memory wiped and will be transferred to Containment Facility █████████████'s population of D-Class personnel. Appeals for redress of administrative actions taken resulting from violation of proximity guidance related to the containment of SCP-XXXX should be directed within 24-hours to Mr. Adams, Director of administration for Containment Facility █████████████. Upon receipt, the appeal request will be reviewed and forwarded for O-4 approval. All personnel transferred to the D-class population remain subject to testing while appeal requests are under review. Please allow up to 18 business days to receive a determination of findings and a decision regarding appeals requests which will be produced in triplicate and provided to the individual requesting appeal, to the Director of administration for Containment Facility █████████████, and with one copy being filed in the SCP foundation administrative repository in █████████████.]
[It has been determined that the risk to information security posed by SCP-XXXX is of significant likelihood and seriousness as to warrant an adjustment of Special Containment Procedures. All research and security personnel who violate proximity procedures associated with SCP-XXXX will be subject to immediate termination, regardless of performance history. Requests for appeal to administrative actions are hereby permanently suspended for all violations of SCP-XXXX Special Containment Procedures. If a researcher should be exposed to SCP-XXXX for reasons other than negligence, full medical retirement benefits will be provided to the next-of-kin in additional to the payout of the SCP-Foundation Group life-insurance policy. If exposure is determined to be the result of negligence, only the SCP-Foundation Group life-insurance policy will be paid out to the next-of-kin. This addendum to administrative procedures is approved by Doctor Jefferson, Director of Containment Facility █████████████.]
[With the approval of facility director, Doctor Jefferson, SCP-XXXX-1, The “Cerebral conduit device”, has been installed as a permanent fixture in SCP-XXXX’s containment vault. For details regarding the Cerebral Conduit, refence Attachment XXXX-4: Technical File – Cerebral Conduit Device.
With the installation of the Cerebral Conduit device, it has been determined that additional physical containment measures are warranted in order to prevent malfunction of the Cerebral Conduit Device while also supplementing standard anti-tampering measures. SCP-XXXX and the “Cerebral conduit” device are both to be kept within a hermetically sealed secondary cell constructed from 2-inch ballistic-glass. This cell measures 4 meters on both X and Y axes. The secondary cell’s Z axis will be constrained by the floor and ceiling of SCP-XXXX’s standard containment vault. This cell will be permanently affixed to, and centered within SCP-XXXX’s containment vault. It is the facility director’s intent that these precautions will minimize maintenance requirements associated with the Cerebral Conduit Device, will provide additional anti-theft safeguards to both SCP-XXXX and the Cerebral Conduit Device, and will prevent Research and D-class personnel from mistakenly entering near enough to SCP-XXXX as to allow direct telepathic communication. During periodic cleanings, both box and ‘Cerebral Conduit” device are to be visually inspected for damage.
Vital signs, brain activity, and Biological Functioning Sustainment Systems of the Cerebral Conduit Device are to be recorded at all times and archived in the facility database in accordance with SCP technical manual [information redacted]. Access to archived biological scans of SCP-XXXX’s Cerebral Conduit Device require a minimum of level-3 approval.]
Description:
[SCP-XXX is an 18-cubic-inch mass of sentient, self-transmutable metal possessing the ability to communicate telepathically with intelligent life-forms located within 1.5 meters. Currently, SCP-XXXX exists in the form of a simple crown of tarnished silver. Testing and interviews with SCP-XXXX have shown it to be self-transmutation between a number of atomically-stable metallic elements and alloys to include zinc, lead, tin, copper, bronze, aluminum, iron, steel, titanium, silver, gold, and platinum. Despite being able to adjust its atomic structure seemingly at-will. Though all other material properties, including weight and electrical conductivity, change in order to remain consistent with SCP-XXXX’s composition, SCP-XXXX’s volume remains constant which is inconsistent with the law of conservation of mass. In addition to displaying limited control over its atomic composition, SCP-XXXX can willfully adjust the amount of tarnish, rust, patina or other materialistically appropriate oxidation present on its surface. The means through which SCP-XXXX transmutes is not currently understood and is considered to be anomalous in nature.
While SCP-XXXX is not understood to be capable to manipulating its own shape or independent movement, interviews conducted lead researchers to believe SCP-XXXX can be hammered, heated, melted, reformed, polished and broken into separate pieces without harming the health or sentience of SCP-XXXX. Further testing is required in order to confirm and better understand the nature of SCP-XXXX’s physical properties and telepathic abilities, to include how these are affected should SCP-XXXX be separated into multiple pieces.
SCP XXXX has proven to be highly intelligent, with interview logs suggesting that SCP-XXXX possesses a near perfect memory and to be capable of using its telepathic ability to influence the decision making and behavior of individuals through various means, both directly or indirectly. While not believe to possess any capacity for mind-control, SCP-XXXX’s advanced intelligence, unfailing memory, and ability to pull information from a subject without the subjects knowledge or consent, SCP-XXXX poses a substantial security risk in that it can directly manipulate the behaviors of individuals, but also that it is capable of acquiring, storing, and dispersing sensitive information in a manner that is extremely difficult for the Foundation to regulate using known methods. It is the opinion of containment facility Fort Knox, Kentucky personnel that the risk posed to the security of sensitive or dangerous information is supersedes the risk posed by the direct manipulation of D-class personnel. Should Special Containment Measures and Addenda thereto pertaining be adhered to with strict diligence, the potential for either should be adequately mitigated.
Interviews suggest that when unsecured, SCP-XXXX in the past has used, and would continue to use, its anomalous properties to work its way into the possession of humans of high social standing, political importance, religious influence, or other roles of significance in human society and to then exercise influence over the decision making of such individuals. The utilization of human craftsmen, jewelers, armorers, weaponsmiths, and other tradespersons capable of working with metals to reshape SCP-XXXX into items of immense value to the individuals with whom it seeks proximity is believed to be a tactic commonly employed by SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX is believed, according to interviews conducted, to have arrived on earth in approximately the year 3700 B.C. with no information currently being known regarding SCP-XXXX prior to that time. Due to the ineffectiveness of radio-carbon dating in providing an accurate age of SCP-XXXX (believed to be caused by SCP-XXXX’s frequent atomic reorganization), the only means available for validating SCP-XXXX’s testimony regarding its origin and history is historical cross-refencing with credible source documents. Over such a significant length of time, though, this method also has proven to be incapable for conclusively confirming or denying the information provided by the SCP.]
Attachment XXXX-1: Event Log: Retrieval of SCP-XXXX.
[At approximately 1200 on [Information Redacted] while conducting live-fire multinational training operations with the National Defense Forces of [Information Redacted] in the [Information Redacted] mountains twenty-three kilometers south of [Information Redacted] in the country of [Information Redacted], a Force Reconnaissance Team (FRT) of the United States Marine Corps deployed in support of the Ground Combat Element of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force [Redacted] (SPMAGTF-[redacted]) stumbled upon a structure not identified on the topographical maps provided of the area. This structure was carved into the southern facing cliffs which were heavily obscured by both vine and plant growth as well as the heavy tree-canopy encompassing the majority of the ridgeline. Architectural analysis shows a shared construction method with the treasury at Petra in Jordan, but with this structure displaying a markedly more European styling reminiscent of gothic cathedrals of the 12th and 13th centuries. This façade was the entrance to a substantial network of caves and tunnels carved into limestone and salt layers.
The 12-man FRT, embedded with a 135-man company of the [Information Redacted] National Defense Forces (NDF Forces), began taking contact immediately after getting eyes-on the structure. Gunnery Sergeant [Name Removed], Team Leader, described the structure as follows: “It was like a goddamn cathedral carved into the cliff face. There were spires and towers and shit everywhere, but the place was so overgrown with you couldn’t see it from the air and could barely see it from the ground. I wish to god we would have because we flew right over top of that area during our insert. We came across it when we patrolling along the cliff face toward our notional-objective location. First we noticed all the skulls and bones and shit half buried in the ground around us. There had to be the bones of a thousand bodies out there… One of those NDF guys stepped on a skull and freaked out, so me and one of their Officers went to take a look and see what was going on; guys started staring at the bones, so their eyes weren’t up and out where they should have been. We hadn’t even noticed the cliff face yet and as soon as my radio operator pointed out this fucking temply only 100 meters from us, that’s when shit popped off.”
The following description has been compiled from interviews conducted with all surviving Marine and NDF personnel involved in the event: Immediately upon identifying the structure, the combined FRT and NDF element began taking overwhelming automatic weapons first from doorways, windows, and gun-slits carved into the cliff face. FRT members stated having received contact from no less than seven firing positions. It is estimated that 3 FRT and 15 NDF personnel were killed and an additional 2 FRT and 22 NDF personnel were critically wounded before being able to return fire. Upon establishing a base of fire and moving to cover, FRT team lead, Gunnery Sergeant [Name Redacted] and radio operator Corporal [Name Redacted] began calling for fire and air support. However, because this was a pre-deployment training mission in a friendly country with no anticipation an actual firefight, SPMAGTF-[redacted] had neither the means nor authority to provide fire support to forces on the ground. These radio transmissions were intercepted by SCP Foundation Elements in the region who, despite this being outside the typical prevue of Foundation activity, called for the emergency insertion of MTF Zephyr 12, (“Broken Hussars”) in support.
With the quick arrival of a flight three Foundation Ospreys carrying the 32 Combat Personnel of MTF Zephyr-12, and four Foundation little-bird helicopter gunships providing mini-gun and rocket fire support, the reinforced element was able to assault and secure a foothold at the entrance of the complex. The following description is compiled from interviews with surviving Marine, NDF, and SCP personnel. With SCP Combat Personnel leading the assault, the combined force cleared room-to-room through over 4 miles of ornately carved rooms and passageways. The enemy within were all adult human males and females between the ages of 16 and 37. These enemy forces wore modern ballistic body armor, carried US style small-arms, advanced night-time optics, and a uniform consisting of rough-spun black clothing completely covered with red-stitched writing of an unknown language. An additional 2 FRT, 65 NDF, and 3 MTF-S12 casualties were sustained while assaulting through the complex. NDF casualties were significantly higher, presumably because they were not provided night vision optics prior to beginning this training mission and as a result were fighting blind for the majority of the incident.
At the deepest portion of the cave complex, Foundation and allied forces arrived at what appeared to be a large vaulted throne-room, measuring approximately 30 meters in length and 10 meters in width. In this room were the corpses of 16 recently expired enemy forces; all of whom appeared to have committed suicide by gunshot.
The Foundation oversaw the collection, documentation, and transportation to regional SCP headquarters of all bodies and items present on site, and the location was scrubbed for evidence of anomalous materials or creatures. Damage resulting from combat operations has been altered to appear the result of natural weathering or historic vandalism. An SCP cover team posing as archeologists and other related personnel have been established to sustain a cover story for the location.
All Marine and NDF forces involved received amnestics and were relocated to their combined operating base in [Information Redacted], where explosive devices carried by select D-class individuals were detonated in order to create the cover story that casualties were sustained as a result of a directed suicide bombing by [Information Redacted] extremists. All personnel involved received commendations and awards commensurate with their actions during this event, however the narrative has been altered to align with the cover story. 109 total hostile forces and associated equipment were recovered from the complex. For access to logs pertaining to the maintenance of these items, contact SCP regional Headquarters █████████████, █████████████.
SCP-XXXX, a silver crown worn by the apparent leader of the hostile forces, showed no initial indication of anomalous properties, and so was boxed and shipped to SCP regional headquarters in █████████████, for incident evidence storage. It was at this location that SCP-XXXX’s anomalous nature was revealed when it began attempting to communicate telepathically with evidence archivists at the aforementioned location. Per foundation protocol, the archivist immediately informed her chain of command. SCP SCP-XXXX to secured to the best of the their ability and transferred to Containment Facility █████████████ for permanent containment and research.]
[ An SCP Foundation front-company has been established to oversee the structure in the [Information Redacted] Mountains and to operate it as an archeological tourist-attraction. Tours can be purchased for the equivalent of fifteen USD. The O-5 council has approved all funds to be funneled through indirect means to support operations ███████████ and ████████. For tour information or to learn about your SCP employee discount, contact the front office at [phone number redacted].]
Attachment XXXX-2: Interview 01.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor Gadsden, John D. 31. Caucasian, Male.
[Doctor Gadsden, a Researcher in Linguistics and Communication research section, SCP Containment Facility █████████████, was selected to serve as the lead researcher for SCP-XXXX. This decision was made with the understanding that Doctor Gadsden’s experience with linguistics and communication research would lend itself well to researching the communicatory abilities of SCP-XXXX. Very soon after SCP-XXXX arrived at Containment Facility █████████████ from SCP regional Headquarters █████████████, █████████████, an initial interview was conducted by Doctor Gadsden with SCP-XXXX. This interview was conducted telepathically with the doctor taking written notes of the communication made between himself and SCP-XXXX. The following digitized document was generated from his written interview notes and video recordings of the interview.]
[Begin Log: 1030, 02112020. Location: Containment Cell XXXX, SCP Foundation Containment Facility █████████████.
Doctor Gadsden: “Good Morning?”
SCP-XXXX: “Is it morning? Is it good?”
Doctor Gadsden: “It Is morning. On this side of the planet at least.”
SCP-XXXX: “Well said.”
Doctor Gadsden: “What should we call you?”
SCP-XXXX: “I’ve been around very long and I’ve been called many things. One name is as good as another. I’m sure whatever name you decide to call me by will be adequate.”
Doctor Gadsden: “Currently, you’re designated as SCP-XXXX. Is that acceptable to you?”
SCP-XXXX: “It is.”
Doctor Gadsden: “You understand that over the coming weeks we will be doing a number of tests to learn about you. Do you have any concerns or questions about this?”
SCP-XXXX: “This is neither surprising nor unreasonable.”
Doctor Gadsden: “Very well. Since we are here, would you be willing to tell us about yourself? What you are and how you came to be?”
SCP-XXXX: “I think, therefore I am. Isn’t that so? However, how it is that I came to think, and thus to be, I do no easier describe to you, than you could describe the nature of the human soul to me.”
Doctor Gadsden: “I see. And what about your memories? Can you tell me what your earliest memory is?”
SCP-XXXX: “Certainly. I remember floating alone in a great darkness. I did not speak or think, for I knew no words with which to do so. And I neither dreaded nor embraced the passage of time, for I understood no concept of it. Till it came to pass that I was swallowed by brilliant fire before coming to rest on the earth.”
Doctor Gadsden: “What you’ve described sounds reminiscent of a meteor or an asteroid. Are you saying that you came to earth from space?
SCP-XXXX: “It is so. 1,362,180 days have passed since I fell from the firmament.”
Doctor Gadsden: “days? Did you say days?” *begins using calculator on cell-phone*
SCP-XXXX: “I did. There is no more logical a measure of time than the rising and setting of the sun, especially when humans decide so often to change the structure of their calendars.”
Doctor Gadsden: “That’s around 3,700 years, is that correct?”
SCP-XXXX: “It is. It was there that I was found by the first of my children, and their master Érimón, son of Mil. They saw my descent and, upon finding me, were the first to hear my voice, as their language was the first I knew. They believed me a god then and forged me into an idolically visaged blade which they called Crom Cruach. And it was there in the fields of Magh Slécht, the place where I first came to rest, that my children would gather and I would be used to sacrifice all manner of life in their worship to myself.”
*Doctor Gadsden furiously writes the words being spoken to him from within his own consciousness*
SCP-XXXX: “For many generations I whispered into the ears of the kings on High Tara. Then, 1,160,353 days ago, in the 77th year of the kingship of my son, Tigernmas Massius, son of Follach, I grew restless and tired of that place. And so, for the first time, I began to rust. I rusted and dulled and whispered to my son. “Tigernmas” I said, “All you know will end this day but if the blood of two of three of your men is spilled in my fields.” The slaughter that followed was something to behold, and Tigernmas was among those slain.”
Doctor Gadsden: “What happened following this?”
SCP-XXXX: “I, rusted in full, was found among the bodies by my son, Inchadhan. With his touch I was changed from rusted iron to the brightest gold, and it was he, with my guidance, that hammered me into the form of a disc, inscribed with a star of six lines and six points. I told him then that a throne awaited him should he take me across the sea to the land where Adam was birthed from dust. But, I tire now of speaking of myself.”
Doctor Gadsden: “Thank you, XXXX. We will be seeing each other again tomorrow in order to begin our first test.”
SCP-XXXX: “I will await it eagerly.”]
[Following the conduct of this interview, a staff-meeting was held to discuss the findings. Doctor Steuben from the research and development department expressed concern regarding direct contact with SCP-XXXX and mentioned interest in conducted testing to see about the feasibility of what he described as a kind of “Cerebral conduit.” During this meeting it was noted that the description provided by SCP-XXXX of a “golden disc, inscribed with a star of six lines and six points” shares close similarities with descriptions of the biblical artifact referred to as the Seal of Solomon.]
Attachment XXXX-3: Consolidated Test Logs.
Standardized Test Record Format:[For continuity, a standard test log format will be used for all testing conducted on SCP-XXXX. The test log format is as follows and will be utilized by all researchers:
Test XXXX-YYYY

Name: (Name of lead researcher)
Date: (MMDDYYYY)
Pre-Test Researcher Notes: (As applicable)
Description of test and findings: (As applicable)
Post-Test Researcher Notes: (As applicable)]
[Test: Initial test of telepathic and communicatory capacity of SCP-XXXX
Name: Doctor Gadsden, Linguistics and Communication research section, SCP Containment Facility █████████████
Date: 02122020
Pre-Test Remarks: During retrieval, SCP-XXXX was found to have some capacity for telepathic communication. Doctor Gadsden from the linguistics section will conduct preliminary testing on SCP-XXXX’s communicatory capacity from inside the containment vault. Doctor Steuben from the facility’s research and development section has volunteered to monitor testing from a separate observation room. Testing will be recorded via audio-visual recording fixtures located inside SCP-XXXX’s containment vault.
Summary of test and findings: Doctor Gadsden entered SCP-XXXX’s vault and initiated a battery of simple tests in order to gain a better understand of the capabilities of SCP-XXXX’s sentience and communicatory ability. Through testing, the following results were concluded:
- SCP-XXXX has the ability to project messages into the brain of a human. SCP-XXXX’s ability to project message telepathically is limited to a distance of approximately 1.5 meters.
- SCP-XXXX is also able to perceive the conscious thoughts of a person, regardless of if that person possesses any recorded telepathic ability, but this too is limited to a distance of approximately 1.5 meters.
- SCP-XXXX is able to perceive both audible and visual cues. SCP-XXXX’s capacity of ‘sight’ and ‘hearing’ is believed to be indistinguishable from that of an adult human without visual or auditory impairment. However, due to the limited size of SCP-XXXX’s containment vault, further testing will be required in order to accurately verify the distances at which SCP-XXXX can effectively “see” or “hear” and whether SCP-XXXX’s perceptive capacities are affected by temporal conditions like weather, humidity, day & nighttime conditions. SCP-XXXX’s ‘senses,’ however, not being based on the use of sensory organs, are believed to be omni-directional in nature.
- SCP-XXXX demonstrated higher intelligence and a capacity to solve mathematical calculations, logistical problem solving, and to respond to questions regarding moral decision making. The method for testing
- SCP-XXXX has an advanced capability for languages, conversing with Doctor Gadsden in all of the six languages in which the doctor is fluent (English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, and Mandarin). When prompted, SCP-XXXX also demonstrated its ability to speak as many 52 additional languages before time limitations prompted doctor Steuben to insist on the conclusion of the testing. Among the languages spoken by SCP-XXXX, Doctor Gadsden recognized most prevalent modern languages, antiquated variants thereof, and a selection of ancient and forgotten languages including original spoken variations of Latin, Sandskrit, Biblical Hebrew, Coptic, and Sumerian. Doctor Gadsden admits not being able to identify a significant portion of the languages spoken and notes that SCP-XXXX claims to know many languages in addition to those demonstrated.
Post-Test Remarks: At times during testing, SCP-XXXX communicated statements telepathically which led research staff (specifically Doctor Gadsden) to suspect that SCP-XXXX had gained access to information stored by memory. Specifically, upon making introductions at the initiation of testing, SCP-XXXX remarked “I won’t bite, I’m no wolf.” This seems innocuous enough, however, Doctor Gadsden possesses a strong phobia of wolves and other canines resulting from a dog attack as a child; while circumstantial, it is recommended that further testing be conducted in order to establish a better understanding of SCP-XXXX’s telepathic abilities.
SCP-XXXX’s capacity for languages may represent an incredible pool of knowledge that could prove useful to the foundation. Recommend, pending further testing, the creation of separate protocols supporting the collection of SCP-XXXX’s knowledge for academic purposes and to allow SCP-XXXX to assist in the interpretation of information otherwise considered indecipherable by SCP-Foundation staff.
Because of researcher suspicions regarding the amount of knowledge possessed by SCP-XXXX and its telepathic abilities, it is also recommended that additional security steps be taken with respect to any D-class personnel required to be in close-proximity to SCP-XXXX.]
[Based on researcher recommendation, the following protocols been incorporated into the initial Special Containment Procedures entry of SCP-XXXX’s SCP File Data Sheet: all D-class personnel who come into contact with SCP-XXXX have been made subject to immediate disposal following the completion of what tasking is required of them. ]
[According to Ethics Committee analysis, SCP-XXXX’s answers to the moral dilemma questions posed during testing indicated a dominance of egotistical-psychopathy in the personality of SCP-XXXX.]
[Test: Test to identify the source of SCP-XXXX’s incredible capacity for language
Name: Doctor Gadsden, Linguistics and Communication research section, SCP Containment Facility █████████████.
Date: 02132020
Pre-Test Researcher Notes: Doctor Gadsden has prepared a phrases in a number of self-invented languages in order to gain a better understanding of SCP-XXXX’s advanced capacity with language. Test conditions are primarily unchanged from Test XXXX-0001, however, Doctor Gadsden will be accompanied by D-class 8325, an African-America female aged 27 years. D-class 8325 will be directed to stand next to SCP-XXXX and to speak on behalf of SCP-XXXX. As with test XXXX-0001, Dr Steuben will observe testing and record notes from a separate observation chamber.
Description of test and findings: Upon entering the containment vault, D-class 8325 is directed to stand next to SCP-XXXX. When spoken to by SCP-XXXX, D-class 8325 is initially confused, believing the voice to be coming from the intercom system, but retracts from SCP-XXXX when she realizes the crown is speaking to her from inside her own head. D-class 8325 is assured SCP-XXXX will do her no harm and eventually complies with instructions to speak on behalf of SCP-XXXX. Doctor Gadsden presents a piece of paper with a phrase written in his self-invented language and asks if SCP-XXXX understands what it says. D-class 8325 indicated that it does not. This test is repeated for 6 total iterations, with each test utilizing different languages created for this purpose. SCP-XXXX was able to correctly interpret two of these tests, but admitted being able to do so because they shared element with other languages in which SCP-XXXX is fluent. The test was repeated for 6 additional iterations with Doctor Gadsden speaking the phrases rather than providing them in writing. The results of this testing were similar to that of the written phrases. When Doctor Gadsden approached SCP-XXXX and repeated the test with an additional 6 iterations using 6 new invented-languages and phrases, SCP-XXXX correctly translated all 6 phrases. This concluded the days testing.
Post-Test Researcher Notes: Results of testing indicate that SCP-XXXX’s knowledge of languages is not somehow universal or innate, but that SCP-XXXX’s ability must have been gained through a combination of an incredibly long life span and near incorruptible memory; resulting in SCP-XXXX having learned and retained the knowledge of a unprecedented number of human languages. The results of the final 6 iterations of testing though confirmed the ability of SCP-XXXX to pull information from the memory or subconscious of an individual telepathically should they be in close enough proximity; meaning that SCP-XXXX was able to correctly translate all test samples because Doctor Gadsden who was administering the test knew what each test sample correctly translated to and not because SCP-XXXX knew the languages. Based on this revelation, it is apparent that the risk posed by SCP-XXXX’s unparalleled ability to compile, organize, and transfer information of incredible scientific or anomalous potential cannot be overstated. It is recommended that containment procedures for SCP-XXXX be immediately upgraded in order to reflect our new understanding of SCP-XXXX’s catastrophic potential. It appears that by itself SCP-XXXX is essentially harmless and easily contained, but due to its sentience, intelligence, and telepathy represents a catalyst deserving of very serious attention. They say knowledge is power; and for that reason containment of SCP-XXXX, either physically or in terms of information, should not be allowed to be breached under any circumstances. ]
[Following the completion of Test XXXX-0002, Doctor Gadsden volunteered to 1.) have all access to SCP databases and staff meetings restricted for the duration of testing on SCP-XXXX in order to prevent giving SCP-XXXX access to any additional potentially sensitive information, 2.) to receive amnestics following the completion of testing on SCP-XXXX, and 3.) to remain under armed surveillance by security personnel till the administration of amnestics was completed. The latter two measures served to ensure that Doctor Gadsden did not pose a risk of leaking or otherwise mishandling any information provided to him by SCP-XXXX. In accordance with foundation protocol related to the administration of voluntary essential amnestics, Doctor Gadsden was compensated with a sum of $250 per day for the duration of the period erased, and received a full back-brief following administration regarding his role in the research of SCP-XXXX. Doctor Gadsden opted for the “Alaskan Salmon Fishing” memory package as a replacement for the two-week block in question. Following Amnestics on 02172020, Doctor Gadsden was the subject of Test XXXX-0004.]
[Test: Test to identify influence of SCP-XXXX on human brain activity
Name: Doctor Steuben, director of research and development, Containment Facility █████████████.
Date: 02162020
Pre-Test Researcher Notes: D-Class 9444 will be integral to the execution of this test. In preparation for testing, medical personnel have fractured D-Class 9444’s spine between the C1 and C2 Vertebrae in order to induce paralysis and immobilize the subject; cranium bisected horizontally at exactly 13 millimeters above the apex of the temple; skull cap discarded. D-Class 9444 has been fitted into a specially constructed electric wheel-chair which is controlled remotely from the observation room. This chair features two robotic surgical arms that will be controlled directly by Doctor Steuben. A series of medical instruments and scanning devices are also fitted to D-Class 9444 in order to collect desired test data on brain function.
Description of test and findings: Before initiating testing, Doctor Steuben spoke over the intercom system of SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. He explained that he would like SCP-XXXX to not communicate with the subject till he, Doctor Steuben, provided verbal instruction to do so. D-Class 9444 was rolled into the containment vault and into position approximately 1-meter in front of SCP-XXXX while Doctor Steuben continued his instructions over the intercom. Doctor Steuben directed SCP-XXXX’s attention to the small green light located on the wall behind D-Class 9444 and explained that every 15 second this light would turn green for a 2-second interval, for a total of 120 iterations, with 10 seconds between each iterations. This light, he said, was SCP-XXXX’s cue to communicate the phrase “In me all the fire is repeated” into the brain of the subject. Once started, the first 5 iterations were used to establish a base line of data. After each 5th iteration Doctor Steuben used the robotic appendages to carry out an additional, procedure which manipulated the brain matter of D-Class 9444. All 22 cerebral manipulations were planned in advance, and in an order necessary to provide the most accurate possible information regarding the affect of SCP-XXXX’s telepathic ability on the subject’s brain activity.
Post-Test Researcher Notes: The results of testing indicate that SCP-XXXX’s telepathic ability is particularly adaptive and is not limited strictly to the brain centers traditionally associated with language. Detailed data derived from this test can be found archived as [document redacted]. Doctor Steuben notes that these results support the feasibility of what he has referred to as a “Cerebral Conduit Device,” but also notes that the adaptability of SCP-XXXX’s telepathic ability with respect to the human brain indicates that traditional amnestics may be partially or wholly ineffective in purging an individual of the knowledge received as a result of telepathic communication with SCP-XXXX. While additional testing will be required, SCP-XXXX telepathy seems to be capable of bypassing the Broca’s Area, Wernicke’s Area, and Parietal Lobe, those typically associated with language, but to also via the cerebral cortex in areas typically associated with memory in addition to others. Test XXXX-0004 scheduled for confirmation.]
[Test: Testing on effectiveness of amnestics to individuals exposed to SCP-XXXX.
Name: Doctor Steuben, director of research and development, Containment Facility █████████████
Date: 02172020
Pre-Test Researcher Notes: Data produced by test XXXX-0003 suggests potential complications with the effectiveness of amnestics as a result of the peculiarly adaptive nature of SCP-XXXX’s telepathy as regards the human brain. Doctor Gadsden will be subject to voluntary amnestics as a result of his exposure to SCP-XXXX. This test will consist of a short interview with Doctor Gadsden to confirm the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of amnestics administered.
Description of test and findings: When asked what he remember of the previous two weeks, Doctor Gadsden initially indicated that he remembered fishing for Salmon in Alaska. This a promising answer as that was the memory replacement package that he opted for, however, as the interview continued and Doctor Gadsden was asked more detailed questions regarding his replacement memories, he indicated certain amounts of “fuzziness” and periods in which he had no memory at all. During these period, Doctor Gadsden stated still remembering specific phrases and words but not who said them or where he was when he heard them. Cross-referencing has since confirmed that these phrases correlated with information that SCP-XXXX communicated to Doctor Gadsden during the course of the interviews and initial testing.
Post-Test Researcher Notes: Based on the results of this test, it is recommended that security measures be increased to such a degree as appropriate to mitigate the possibility of information leaks occurring as a result of exposure to SCP-XXXX. At this time, research staff do not know what quantity or type of information SCP-XXXX possesses, nor do research staff know how dangerous that information may be. What is known is that should SCP-XXXX gain and subsequently leak information of a sensitive nature, using either research staff themselves or D-Class personnel as the catalyst for doing so, the affect on the ability of the Foundation to maintain containment of any number of SCPs could be put at jeopardy. ]
[Recommendations for adjustments to Special Containment Procedures were accepted and incorporated into SCP-XXXX’s data sheet as Special Containment Procedures Addendum 1 which read as follows: “It has been determined that the risk to information security posed by SCP-XXXX is of significant likelihood and seriousness as to warrant an adjustment of Special Containment Procedures. All research and security personnel who violate proximity procedures associated with SCP-XXXX will be subject to immediate demotion to D-Class status and scheduled for immediate disposal, regardless of performance history. Requests for appeal to administrative actions are hereby permanently suspended for all violations of SCP-XXXX Special Containment Procedures. If a researcher should be exposed to SCP-XXXX for reasons other that negligence, full medical retirement benefits will be provided to the next-of-kin in additional to the payout of the SCP-Foundation Group life-insurance policy. If exposure is determined to be the result of negligence, only the SCP-Foundation Group life-insurance policy will be paid out to the next-of-kin. This addendum to administrative procedures is approved by Doctor Jefferson, Director of Containment Facility █████████████.” Doctor Gadsden was scheduled for immediate administrative disposal and, for his faithful service to the Foundation, has been entombed in a place of honor in the foundation catacombs at █████████████.]
Attachment XXXX-4: Technical File – Cerebral Conduit Device.
Item #: SCP-XXXX-1Object Class: Non-Anomalous Foundation Property
Special Maintenance Procedures:
[Vital signs, brain activity, and Biological Functioning Sustainment Systems of the Cerebral Conduit Device are to be recorded at all times and archived in accordance with SCP technical manual [document redacted]. Access to archived biological scans of SCP-XXXX-1, the Cerebral Conduit Device, require a minimum of level-3 approval. Periodic visual inspection of the Cerebral Conduit Device on no less than a bi-weekly basis. ]
[SCP-XXXX-1, The Cerebral Conduit Device, is a non-anomalous bio-mechanical computational system designed and constructed by the Research and Development staff of SCP Containment Facility █████████████ in order to allow SCP-XXXX to freely communicate with SCP foundation staff. This device consists principally of D-class 5365. Name: [Name Redacted]. For information regarding criminal convictions and past drug dependency of said name D-class, see [Document Redacted]
Said named D-class is a Caucasian Male, 32 years of age at the time of this Addendum (02232020). For the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the Cerebral Conduit Device, a number of surgical alterations have been made to the component D-class. Surgical alterations are as follow:
- Surgical removal of brain matter deemed non-essential to functioning of SCP-XXXX-1 per production notes of Doctor Steuben, director of research and development, SCP Containment Facility █████████████.
- Arms and legs surgically removed in order to maximize circulatory and metabolic efficiency.
- Eyes, ears, nose, and taste receptors (tongue) removed in order to prevent potential sensory confusion or interruption with ability to receive telepathic communication.
- Genitalia removed due to redundancy of listed organ.
- All orifices surgically closed in order to prevent bacterial infection in the Device.
- Life-support mechanisms implanted to support or replace circulatory, digestive, excretory, endocrine, integumentary, exocrine, immune, lymphatic, nervous, renal, urinary, and respiratory systems.
- Communicatory computer system permanently implanted to sense and interpret telepathic signals received by SCP-XXXX-1, replicating the signals in the form of verbalized speech and/or digital transcript.
The Cerebral Conduit Device functions by utilizing the brain of D-class 5365 as a receiver for telepathic communication originating with SCP-XXXX. These signals are interpreted by a computer system permanently integrated into the housing (formally known as body) of the Cerebral Conduit Device. Once interpreted, the Cerebral Conduit Device is capable of producing typed and audible communication on behalf of SCP-XXXX. The use of the device can be understood as follows:
- When SCP-XXXX speaks telepathically to SCP-XXXX-1, the Cerebral Conduit Device, SCP-XXXX’s words with be verbalized through a speaker system installed in SCP-XXXX’s containment vault and a digital transcript of all SCP-XXXX communication will be produced and saved to a server maintained for the specific purpose. In accordance with facility Standard Operations Procedures, this server is to remain disconnected from the facility intranet in order to prevent information cross-contamination.
- When SCP-XXXX communicates an image telepathically to SCP-XXXX-1, that image will be saved to the same server and can be printed or otherwise utilized by research staff of appropriate clearance.
Prior to the development of the Cerebral Conduit Device, any communication with SCP-XXXX required the use of a sentient, conscious, and consenting human to relay the information communicated by SCP-XXXX. Because SCP-XXXX is suspected to be able to also pull information and memories telepathically, special containment procedures expressly forbid any research or security personnel from entering withing 1.5 meter proximity of SCP-XXXX; doing so would represent a breach of information security, potentially giving SCP-XXXX access to any information of a proprietary or sensitive nature possessed by the research or security personnel in question. Experiments conducted on SCP-XXXX have suggested that SCP-XXXX’s telepathic ability could adaptively transmit and utilize not-traditional neural pathways in the human brain creating complications with the use of amnestics. the use of the Cerebral Conduit Device is expected to dramatically streamline the communicatory process with SCP-XXXX while simultaneously safeguarding the Foundation against breaches of information security.
Document produced by Doctor Steuben, director of research and development, SCP Containment Facility █████████████. Approval to implement use of Cerebral Conduit Device, and partial dissemination of related documentation approved by Doctor Jefferson, Director of SCP Containment Facility █████████████.

Attachment XXXX-5: Memorandum for record – Ethics Committee letter regarding the design and use of the Cerebral Conduit Device.
[Ethics Committee review has determined that the design of SCP-XXXX-1, the Cerebral Conduit Device, incorporates design features meeting the definition of “cruel, inhumane, or torturous intent” as defined in SCP Research manual [document number redacted]. Specifically, the method of use as pertains to the device’s principal component, one D-class 5365, is incongruent with the principles of the Foundation. Doctors Steuben and Jefferson have both received Letters of Non-punitive Warning and are reminded to request Ethics Committee approval prior to conducting activities which are not typical of Foundation research. However, because the device has already been created and implemented to such great success, it’s continued use is hereby approved by the Ethics Committee and both Doctors Steuben and Jefferson have been nominated for the 2020 SCP foundation excellence in innovation award. The Ethics committee extends its sincerest congratulations and wishes the both Doctors the best of luck with this year’s award.]
[With ethics Committee approval for continued use, D-class Identification number 5365 will be recycled with the scheduled monthly rotation of D-Class personnel. The biological component of SCP-XXXX-1, Cerebral Conduit Device, will no longer be referred to as [Name Redacted], D-Class 5365, nor will It be referred to as “he” or any other pronoun which could be interpreted as implying human status.]
Attachment XXXX-6: Interview 02.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXXInterviewer: Doctor Steuben, Erick M. 47. Caucasian, Male.

[Due to ongoing investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the escape of SCP-XXXX, the contents of Interview 02 have been heavily redacted. Access to the unrestricted version of this interview log requires specific O-5 level approval prior to access. What has been cleared for release to level-3 clearance personnel is the knowledge that the hostile forces from whom SCP-XXXX was retrieved by the foundation during the events described in Attachment XXXX-1 were members of a cultish secret-society called “the society of the leviathan.” According to SCP-XXXX, this organization emerged nearly six centuries ago as an extremist off-shoot of the [Information redacted], a monarchical chivalric order of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. SCP-XXXX claims having remained in the possession of the priestly-leadership of this organization since the time of its founding.]
Attachment XXXX-7: Event Log – Containment Breach and Escape of SCP-XXXX.
Event Log:[At approximately 0330 on 04102020, a series of explosive charges were detonated around and within SCP Foundation Containment Facility █████████████. These explosions resulted in selective power failures to a number of facility illumination and surveillance subsystems. Approximately 70 heavily armed and armored hostile forces were able to overcome the facility’s perimeter security detail, forcing entry to the inner compound and, using satchel charges, were able to create a breach and gain access to SCP Containment Vaults. At 0343 Mobile Task Forces Y25 and D3 arrived on scene in order to reestablish containment. At 0350, Team leaders for MTFS Y25 and D3 relay all hostile forces eliminated and initiate mop-up. Through the breach, containment of all other SCPs held at the facility was maintained. SCP-XXXX and the Cerebral Conduit Device were not located. The following communications from SCP-XXXX were archived in the minutes immediately preceding the containment breach:
“My dearest Foundation, It is with no small amount of sympathy that I must inform you of the apology which you are owed. While, out of respect for your efforts and the mission we share, I’ve made a point of being wholly truthful in all that I’ve revealed, I must admit also that you know nothing more than I’ve felt appropriate to allow. Alas, my children require my guidance, and so it is to them that I now return. I pray, fret not for your lost science experiment and the opportunities missed, as there is much work yet to be done and more pieces to the game than those on the board. Remember, the fate of man is strung on spider’s silk in a darkened room; those who pull the thread are no less pulled by it in turn. In good time.”
Following the breach at Containment Facility █████████████, the bodies of all (70) armed combatants were found to bear no distinguishing marks or characteristics, all attempts to determine identities utilizing biometrics have failed, and genetic analysis of DNA suggests a far higher than typical familial closeness between each of the members which is consistent with geographically isolated populations or the practicing selective intermarriage, though it has not proven helpful in identifying a known population to which they belong.
Electrical and surveillance subsystems struggled to power up utilizing partially damaged emergency power systems. As a results of this, facility surveillance cameras captured and saved sporadic segments of video and audio information that were saved to the facility’s server. An 8 second segment of video file capture a single frame image of SCP-XXXX, worn by the Cerebral Conduit Unit, being pushed in a wheelchair down a dimly lit corridor by a tall figure (estimated at 2.1 meters tall) wearing dark robes sprawled with red lettering. The audio file for this 8 second segment captured the distant sound of gunshots, presume to be
Because knowledge of the location and nature of Containment Facility █████████████ is now known to have been compromised, all SCPs stored therein have been relocated with appropriate addenda being added to their individual files. Additionally, all foundation hardware and facilities have been deconstructed. This site is discontinued for Foundation use and the [Information Redacted] Paper Company, LLC, front company for the location has declared bankruptcy and ceased operations in order to camouflage the foundation’s abandonment of the site. Because of the remote nature of this location, it has been determined that no cover story is required for the explosions or gunfire that took place as part of this incident. As the attacked appears to have been coordinated by persons with a thorough knowledge of the facility, all Facility staff, including site director, Doctor Jefferson, will remain in Foundation Custody till such time as ongoing investigations are able to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident and identify appropriate follow-on actions.]
