Item #: SCP-3648
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3648 is to be kept in one of two (2) connected lead-lined concrete boxes at least 15m x 15m x 7m in size with a single dispenser for food (primarily meat), a continuously running water fountain, and a pedestal with at least fifty (50) grams of uranium on it. The rest of the internal layout should be thin walls of wood for SCP-3648 to roam around. While SCP-3648 is in one of the boxes, the other is to be sealed off, cleaned, and repaired.
Cameras are to be connected to a nearby observation room via a closed circuit. Personnel armed with weapons with armor piercing rounds containing sedatives are to be kept nearby at all times. Should SCP-3648 create SCP-3648-1, SCP-3648 should be herded by itself into the other room while a team wearing stab-resistant body armor and radiation-resistant suits should be sent in to dispose of any and all instances of SCP-3648-1.
In the event that SCP-3648 needs to be transported to a different location, SCP-3648 should be moved to a lead-lined modular cell 6m x 3m x 4m in size and sedated. Once sedated, a small chunk of uranium should be placed in the cell, and the cell should be sealed off. SCP-3648 is to be moved to and from this temporary cell as quickly as possible to decrease the risk of it regaining consciousness in the middle of a facility.
A security team with lethal equipment, including anti-tank weapons and armor piercing ammunition, are to be kept on standby at all times. If SCP-3648 breaches containment, priority should be given to incapacitating it. If incapacitation is impossible, the facility's director may give security teams permission to execute SCP-3648. Should SCP-3648 break containment, the guards on standby should use their armor piercing sedative rounds to knock out the creature and put it into a temporary sleep, at which point the guards should drag it back to one of its containment cells.
Description: SCP-3648 appears to be a semi-humanoid creature about four (4) meters tall with a tail and horns, as well as spines running down its back. Its skin is made of scales which are immune to normal bullets, and it has teeth long claws made of a material similar to steel. It will try to sharpen these claws and, should one break off, said claw will become SCP-3648-1. SCP-3648 is drawn to radiation, and becomes more passive while any sort of radiation is nearby. However, should it leave a radioactive area, it will become extremely aggressive and attack any creature it sees.
Any images of the creature rapidly degrade, meaning that footage and photographs cannot be saved for any period of time beyond a few minutes. Theories about why this occurs include some undiscovered form of radiation, psychic abilities or being able to influence space-time. Tests should be carried out to find the root cause of this degradation.
SCP-3648-1 is, as previously mentioned, one of SCP-3648's claws. SCP-3648-1 vibrates very slightly, creating a low-pitched noise and allowing it to move slowly. However, should any live creature that is not SCP-3648 come nearby (within approximately one (1) meter), the claw will act like a spring and lunge at the creature, often severely injuring or even killing it. Once this is done, SCP-3648-1 will be permanently inactive.
Mass sightings of SCP-3648 began during cleanup efforts just after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. However, excerpts from a document from the Soviet government written in December 1983 demonstrate that these were not the first sightings of the creature, and it had been a mystery to the local government officials at the time. The excerpts are included below:
Excerpts from Document ███-███, Provided by the Soviet Union in 198█
On top of possible safety violations, we have received reports of a mysterious creature in the area of the town of Pripyat. So far, we've collected little data on it and suspect it to be some sort of wildlife, possibly mutated by some sort of contamination from the power plant. I've advised Alexei ██████ about the situation, and he believes we should assess the reactors for any leaks…
…I have seen a report about the creature mentioned earlier in this document attacking fishermen and wounding one of them. They described it as "about four (4) meters long, with four legs, a tail and sharp claws that tore through flesh." This makes me believe it is some sort of creature mutated by the waters of the cooling pond, as the fishermen were in that area.
…I believe that policy changes should [not] be implemented… in regards to this supposed creature. An inspection should be carried out on the reactors and the radioactivity of the cooling pond, however.
Discovery: SCP-3648's capture was a part of a cooperation with the Ukrainian government to search the area around Chernobyl for any anomalies. After being located in January 2004, efforts were made to understand its behavior. Finally, in 20██, a retrieval team was sent into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (approximately three (3) kilometers from the reactor). The team initially tried using sedative darts, but these proved ineffective due to SCP-3648's scales. SCP-3648 retaliated and caused █ casualties before it ran through through a wall of an apartment building, collapsing the wall and floor above. A piece of debris struck SCP-3648 on the head at a high velocity, incapacitating the creature temporarily. While it was incapacitated, it was extracted via helicopter. The incident was explained as a group of tourists venturing into a dilapidated building, causing a minor collapse and injuring one of the tourists badly enough that they needed to be rescued via helicopter.
Addendum 3648.1
A set of new security equipment has been procured, allowing for non-lethal containment of SCP-3648 in the case of a breach. This equipment includes: armor-piercing rounds with tips containing sedatives, radiation-resistant suits, and stab-resistant body armor. Containment measures for SCP-3648 have been updated accordingly.
Addendum 3648.2
Following a containment breach in December 20██, SCP-3648 was injured by the accidental use of lethal armor-piercing ammunition. Following this injury, it displayed accelerated healing abilities. All wounds were fully healed only five days after the injury occurred.
Addendum 3648.3
An interview with one of the two fishermen attacked by SCP-3648 in 1983 was conducted by Dr. Boris ████████. Parts of the interview were conducted in Russian and Ukrainian, and have been translated. This has been noted in the interview below.
Interviewer: Dr. Boris ████████
Interviewee: Anonymous SCP-3648 attack survivor (henceforth referred to as "S")
Foreword: S is questioned about the 1983 attack and the circumstances surrounding it.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ████████: [S], do you know why you're here?
S: It's something about the incident in 1983, where my buddy and I were fishing and we were attacked by a monster.
Dr. ████████: You seem very uncomfortable about this subject, [S].
S: Well, you can chalk that up to the language barrier. (S laughs)
Dr. ████████: (In Russian) Would you prefer this? (In Ukrainian) Or perhaps this?
S: (In Ukrainian) As much as I'd like to speak in my native tongue, I believe it would be best if we talked in English.
Dr. ████████: (In English again) Alright then. So, tell me, [S], what happened on that night in 1983?
S: My friend and I were fishing near the cooling pond for the Chernobyl power plant. We heard some strange noises off towards the shore. Our boat was a small rowing one, so it took us a few minutes to get a decent line of sight with the shore. It was night, after all.
Dr. ████████: (Writing) Sighting was at… night. Okay then. What happened next?
S: My friend shouted over to the shore. He asked who was there, and there was just sort of a strange silence. The animals nearby had stopped making noise. I told my friend I felt a bit nauseous and leaned over the side of the boat to vomit. Then I saw a reflection in the water, a strange sort of pale color. It was moving quickly towards us. I looked up and saw some sort of four-legged… (Disgusted) monstrosity with claws at least fifty centimeters long. The creature itself must've been four meters long, if you included its tail. I gasped in shock, and my friend dropped his fishing rod to grab his knife.
Dr. ████████: And?
S: It splashed down into the water next to the boat, hanging on with its claws. The claws began to tear through the wood and it slid down. However, it managed to pull itself onto the boat. My friend stabbed at it with his knife, which made a slight sort of noise as if metal was hitting metal. The creature quickly attacked my friend, slashing upwards. This left a great gash from about the lower right side of his torso - the left side if you looked at him from the front, just to be clear - to the upper left side of his chest. (Motions across his torso to his chest to demonstrate the wound) It wasn't terribly deep, but it was certainly painful. The creature saw my friend fall back, impaled some fish from the bucket of what we'd caught, and then hopped off after showing the fish into its maw.
Dr. ████████: Was there anything noteworthy about the wound, maybe how your friend felt afterwards?
S: I felt nauseous just before the attack, but by the time we reached the shore, we both felt extremely nauseous.
Dr. ████████: Do you have any idea why that happened?
S: Upon reflection, it may have been due to the creature dousing us in possibly radioactive water from the power plant.
Dr. ████████: (Writing) Why thank you, [S]. That will be all. You may go.
(A chair is heard moving, and a door opens and shuts as S leaves the interview room)
Dr. ████████: (In Russian) What a fool I was to think that he'd given all of the information to the government officials! This was the Soviet Union, after all. If they'd mentioned the nausea, especially if they'd already realized the fact that it could've been due to radioactivity, I don't know what the officials would've done to them. (In English) Ending log, and submitting notes.

Item #: SCP-4810
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4810 should be kept on a table in the middle of a 5m x 5m x 5m concrete cell with a bulletproof one-way window connected to an observation room. The room can only be accessed by one airlock guarded externally by two armed personnel. There should always be at least two research personnel in the observation room and one available D-Class subject for experimentation. SCP-4810 is to be permanently kept in cryogenic stasis in an 8m x 8m x 8m concrete cell with walls forty (40) centimeters thick. This cell should be suspended by large steel springs within a much larger 20m x 20m x 20m cell, also with concrete walls forty (40) centimeters thick. A single bridge with an airlock both heading into the larger cell and from the larger cell to the smaller cell should be constructed. This bridge should be able to retract into the walls of the larger cell automatically in the event of a containment breach. No other rooms should be located within ten (10) meters of the outer cell.
Observation of SCP-4810 should be conducted via one camera in each corner of both the smaller cell and the larger cell, connected to an observation room no less than ten (10) meters away from the outer cell. Two guards should be stationed inside of the observation room and outside of the observation room, and no less than two research personnel should be in the observation room at any given time. A further two six guards should be stationed in a bunker-like room secured by an airlock, with specialized hazmat suits and both lethal and non-lethal armament available within the room. This room should be located no less than fifty (50) meters away from the outer cell and the observation room. This room should be connected to a single camera in the observation room via a closed circuit. In the case of a containment breach in SCP-4810's containment, the guards should wear their hazmat suits and execute or sedate all personnel within the area before shutting down the cameras in SCP-4810's cell and making sure the bridge is retracted.
Should a study be required in either of the two cells or should maintenance be required, two guards wearing specialized hazmat suits and carrying lethal weapons (in the case of maintenance) or non-lethal weapons (in the case of research) should accompany a team of no less than two other personnel.
The entire area of SCP-4810's cells and security should be secured by airlocks guarded from outside of the area, and explosives should be placed to destroy the area in the case of a total containment breach. It is preferable that SCP-4810 be placed in an facility with an on-site nuclear weapon given the extreme danger it presents.
Description: SCP-4810 itself is a shard of an unknown metal about seventy (70) millimeters thick, fifty (50) millimeters wide at its widest and two-hundred and fifty (250) millimeters long at it longest. It originates from the side of the turret of a World War II-era T-34/85 tank with a red star painted on it. It is painted in a dark green with small amount of what appears to be rust around the edges. A slight amount of dirt remains on SCP-4810 despite previous efforts to clean it up. SCP-4810 is seemingly indestructible, withstanding heat of up to 50,000 degrees Celsius.
SCP-4810 emits a strong influence on those nearby, with a range that seemingly extends until the nearest possible candidate is affected. This influence begins as a whispering which the victim (henceforth referred to as SCP-4810-1) perceives to be all around them. If SCP-4810-1 begins to become curious, they seemingly enter a much more vulnerable state. SCP-4810-1 will begin to walk in the general direction of SCP-4810 before stopping after only a few seconds of walking. If SCP-4810's influence has not been cut off by this point, SCP-4810-1's chances of recovery are extremely low. After about one minute, SCP-4810 will cause a small seismic wave, equal to about 2.5 on the Richter Scale, and about thirty seconds after this, SCP-4810-1 will lose consciousness completely. During those thirty seconds, SCP-4810-1's skeletal structure will strengthen, especially that of the skull. After only about five seconds of unconsciousness, SCP-4810-1 will get up and be hostile to anyone else not currently being influenced by SCP-4810. SCP-4810-1 will attempt to touch SCP-4810.
Upon touching SCP-4810, one of two things will happen to SCP-4810-1. The first and most common in an environment where SCP-4810 isn't threatened is that SCP-4810-1 will turn into a gas which will temporarily float around SCP-4810 before viable materials are used to repair SCP-4810. Whatever gasses are left will be used to strengthen or otherwise heal instances of SCP-4810-2.
The second possibility is that SCP-4810-1 will become paralyzed for approximately one minute before falling over and losing consciousness for about two minutes. During those two minutes, SCP-4810-1 will undergo extreme external and internal changes. These changes vary greatly from subject to subject, but the most common ones include a rapid increase in muscle mass or bone density, increased auditory or optical sensitivity, and nails growing longer, sharper and tougher. After this transformation, SCP-4810-1 is now considered to be SCP-4810-2. Instances of SCP-4810-2 are extremely hostile to anything not being affected by SCP-4810. They will attempt to protect SCP-4810 and any instances of SCP-4810-1 currently heading in the direction of SCP-4810.
Discovery: SCP-4810 was discovered in a field near the village of █████████ in Russia (then the Soviet Union) in 196█. The hull had been scrapped a few years prior, and the turret had been left due to a tree growing out of it. A farmer unearthed SCP-4810 approximately a hundred meters from the turret, and noticed that SCP-4810 was in the shape of a missing piece of a turret. The farmer then went and placed the fragment in the turret at approximately 6:55 PM GMT. It fell out, and he went to go back to his house. While in his house, he told his wife about it. She came to see, and stood about twenty (20) meters from the tree while her husband applied adhesive and inserted SCP-4810 at about 7:15 PM GMT. At this time, parts of vehicles and weapons across the Eastern Bloc instantaneously transformed into gasses. However, presumably due to the heavy winds that day, these gasses never reached SCP-4810. The turret itself did not become a gas but rather disintegrated, causing the tree to fall on the farmer and kill him while the wife stood by. The wife later reported all of this to authorities who took SCP-4810 and the husband's body for study. SCP-4810 was forgotten in storage shortly afterwards and was only brought to the attention of the Foundation when a few officials leaked documents regarding SCP-4810 in mid-December 1991, just before the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
A retrieval team was sent in to raid the storage facility in 20██. Minimal resistance was encountered, and only non-lethal weapons were used. Amnesics were administered to those sedated and SCP-4810 was retrieved and brought to a facility in the United States. During its transit, many personnel reported a strange urge to touch SCP-4810, but all resisted this urge.
Addendum 4810.1
SCP-4810 was observed to cause confusion in a D-Class subject (experiment notes below). The D-Class subject was removed after only about twenty seconds of exposure and was interviewed shortly afterwards (interview notes below).
Experiment Log 4810-e-1
Procedure: D-Class subject with no prior history of mental health issues will be sent into the room. The subject will remain in the room with SCP-4810 for either ten (10) minutes or until effects are observed.
Participant(s): Subject D-20855 (Male, 29)
Research Personnel: Dr. ████████, Dr. █████
Results: D-20855 remained in the room for 9.7 seconds before cocking his head suddenly to look at SCP-4810. D-20855 was recorded saying, "I hear you, what do you want?" and, "I hear your whispers… tell me what you need." After 17 seconds in the room, D-20855 took a step towards SCP-4810 as security walked in. D-20855 was removed from the room by facility guards exactly 20.1 seconds after entering.
Interview with D-20855 After Experiment 4810-e-1
Interviewer: Dr. ███
Interviewee: D-20855
Foreword: D-20855 is interviewed about their experience in the room with SCP-4810.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ███: So, you experienced something while you were with SCP-4810.
D-20855: Yeah?
Dr. ███: Please describe what happened.
D-20855: I heard a click so I turned around to look at the bit of metal. Then I heard whispers in my ears. I mean in my ears. It was all around me. (Gesturing in a circle with his arms)
Dr. ███: What were the whispers saying?
D-20855: "You, come to me. I will give you everything if you just come to me. Take a step…"
Dr. ███: And that's when you took the step?
D-20855: Yeah, and I felt this weird sense of peace. Like, I tasted chocolate and smelled flowers, and all my joints went limp because of how it felt. I just wanted to keep walking. When I was dragged away, it was like I had been stabbed with a knife.
Dr. ███: Thank you. Your description has helped to fuel our research. You may leave now, and you will be escorted to your cell.
(D-20855 loudly gets up, opens the door and then slams it)
Dr. ███: We need to look into tracking hormones released during these experiments, or something along those lines. I'd advise preparing the next test subject as soon as possible.

Addendum 4810.2
Experiment 4810-e-3 revealed some disturbing facts, resulting in changes in the special containment procedures. The experiment log is listed below.
Experiment Log 4810-e-3
Procedure: Two (2) D-Class personnel with good mental health will be left in SCP-4810's containment cell. One of the subjects will be let inside twenty seconds before the other. This D-Class subject will be wearing large earplugs and have blinders on the sides of their head. They will be directed to stand between one (1) and three (3) meters away from SCP-4810 and to stare directly at it. The second D-Class subject will have their hands tied together behind them and will be instructed to look away from SCP-4810. If nothing happens after ten (10) minutes, both subjects will be removed from the cell.
Participants: D-21006 (Male, 31), D-21008 (Male, 25)
Research Personnel: Dr. ███, Dr. Holst
Results: D-21006 entered the chamber and stood 1.9 meters away from SCP-4810 and stared at it for 10.5 seconds before taking a step forward. After exactly 14 seconds D-21006 stopped completely and simply stared at SCP-4810. D-21008 was forced into the chamber 20.4 seconds after D-21006 entered. Nothing occurred until 44.3 seconds after D-21006's entry into the chamber, when the subject stumbled towards SCP-4810 before suddenly freezing.
58.9 seconds after D-21006's entry, a seismic event measuring about 2.3 on the Richter Scale emanated from SCP-4810. D-21006 stood still until 90.4 seconds after his entry into the chamber, at which point he fell over, apparently unconscious. Exactly 5 seconds later, D-21006 stood back up and attacked D-21008. A security guard entered the chamber and threatened D-21006, but D-21006 simply turned around and attacked the guard instead. The guard was able to shoot D-21006 six times in the chest with a .45 ACP pistol, at which point D-21006 ceased struggling and seemingly died.
Both D-Class personnel were declared dead as soon as medical personnel arrived. D-21008 was severely beaten, and his throat had been ripped out by D-21006. At autopsy, it was found D-21006's bones had increased to almost twice their normal density. There was also an abnormal amount of adrenaline found in D-21006's system.
Note from Dr. Holst: I advise tighter security measures for all future tests of SCP-4810, as well as non-lethal methods being used to contain those affected by SCP-4810 for further study.
Addendum 4810.3
Following a security breach during experiment 4810-e-8, new security measures are being planned. Until then, all testing involving SCP-4810 is to be suspended and no personnel, save for security guards and essential personnel, are to be allowed within fifty (50) meters of SCP-4810. Excerpts from the report on the security breach are included below.
Excerpts from the official report on Security Breach ███
The breach began due to a lapse in security during experiment 4810-e-8. Security guards were slow to respond, and apparently also affected by SCP-4810. This shows that SCP-4810 can affect more than one person at once.
The increase in bone density of the victims appears to cause some bullet resistance, especially in the area of the skull. A 9mm pistol was fired three times at the head of D-█████, a victim of SCP-4810. All three shots seemed only to breach the skin before being stuck in the skull of D-█████.
There were a total of ██ victims of SCP-4810, who caused a further ███ casualties to foundation personnel and great amounts of damage to containment equipment near SCP-4810's cell. This proves the destructive potential of SCP-4810.
After all victims of SCP-4810 were successfully contained in a separate area, the cell housing SCP-4810 was investigated. It was found that SCP-4810 had grown slightly in mass and dimensions. Disturbingly, there were two masses of a sort of sludge on the floor, oozing out of the uniforms of D-█████ and Pvt. ████████. DNA testing on what little organic material remained confirmed their identities.
Note: The rest of the report is currently classified.
