Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Nuetralized

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 are to be contained together in a standard humanoid containment cell retrofitted with a specialized sprinkler and drainage system. Sprinklers are to be active at all times in order to keep SCP-XXXX in a docile state. At no times should SCP-XXXX-1 be removed from SCP-XXXX’s possession.

As of Incident-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 are currently under review for reclassification (EUCLID) post-manifestation of previously undocumented anomalous properties. Previous containment procedures are to be followed until further notice.

As of Incident-XXXX-C, SCP-XXXX is reclassified (NEUTRALIZED). SCP-XXXX-1 is to be moved to a standard safe-class anomalous object containment locker at site-87. SCP-XXXX-1 is pending approval for in-field use by personnel on SCP-████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is was a dark, transparent humanoid entity measuring approximately 2.94 3.48 meters in height. SCP-XXXX is was sapient and partially intangible. To date, SCP-XXXX has not shown the capability to willingly phase through physical objects. However, if the object would collide with SCP-XXXX out of the entity’s own volition, the object will merge with the entity. Due to its transparent appearance, any object merged with the entity is still entirely visible, although it will appear as though it is cast under a shadow. SCP-XXXX-1 is the only object known to be able to physically interact with SCP-XXXX without merging into it.

As of Incident-XXXX-C, SCP-XXXX had proven itself to be fully intangible. It is assumed that the entity was refusing to phase through physical objects willingly during its time in foundation custody.

SCP-XXXX-1 is was a large black umbrella, with a canopy 135 cm in width. SCP-XXXX-1 is considered to be nonanomalous, save for its ability to physically interact with SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 can be removed from SCP-XXXX, although the entity will display extreme distress until SCP-XXXX-1 is returned. As a result of repeated compliance during testing and interviews, Dr. Howard has approved of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 continued containment in the same cell.

SCP-XXXX seeks out rainstorms in populated areas, opening SCP-XXXX-1 when in rainy conditions. It will then approach any human subject who is exposed to the rain and isn’t in possession of an umbrella, offering to share its space under SCP-XXXX-1 with the subject. If the offer is accepted or ignored, SCP-XXXX will walk with the subject until they arrive at their destination, or until they find suitable cover from the rain. If the offer is refused, SCP-XXXX will leave and seek out another person who does not have an umbrella, repeating the offer to the new individual.

If the rain disperses or otherwise leaves the area, SCP-XXXX will close SCP-XXXX-1 and begin heading towards the nearest populated area experiencing rainfall, traveling at a rate of 4.5 Km/h. Due to this slow pace, SCP-XXXX will often not arrive at its target location before the rainfall ceases, causing its destination to change mid-travel. Due to this, SCP-XXXX has been observed to prioritize smaller, closer destinations over larger, farther away places.

SCP-XXXX was secured on █/█/1992 after reports of an “umbrella ghost” emerged in ████████, Oregon. During a sweep of the city in search of the entity, SCP-XXXX approached foundation personnel and offered to share its umbrella with Agent █████. Agent █████ accepted the offer after being ordered to do so by Site-███ Director. The agent brought SCP-XXXX back to Site-███, where the entity was contained by activating the fire sprinkler system of the staff break room, luring it inside the building and containing it in said break room until its future cell was retrofitted. Water damage to the break room was repaired, and level 0 security clearance was restored.
