Special Containment Procedures:
At this time, SCP-XXXX has designated its current host as a 10-year-old African male, referred to as Subject 14. For precautionary purposes, Subject 14 has been relocated to Sector 9A, Room 904-C3, for observation. All accommodations will be process through Dr. Christopher Silva and placed under review until said accommodations are approved or rejected.
Following 8:00 pm, Subject 14 will be required to remain in Room 904-C3 for the duration of 12 hours. Under no circumstances should Subject 128 be allowed to leave the area or remain a distance of at least 4 meters from SCP-XXXX. Sedation has been approved for use if necessary. DO NOT ALLOW SUBJECT 14 TO CONDUCT SELF-HARM AT ALL COSTS. Constant observation of both SCP-XXXX and Subject 14 will required for the duration of this time.
For the safety and convenience of the subjects, SCP-XXXX has been placed in square Q13 in Room 904-C3, underneath a clear glass case. Unless necessary, SCP-XXXX should not be relocated from its current position. Please gain permission from Dr. Christopher Silva at least five days prior to handling SCP-XXXX. Regardless of permissions and statuses, SCP-XXXX must be relocated to its position in square Q13 in Room 904-C3 30 minutes prior to 8:00 pm.
SCP-XXXX should be handled with extreme care. Report all incidents involving SCP-XXXX to Dr. Silva immediately. Note that reanalysis of SCP-XXXX will be conducted at 12:00pm of each day.
Under no circumstances should the nature of SCP-XXXX-1 be revealed to future subjects prematurely. See Addendum 1 for more information.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a figurine of a 13th-century knight made of polystyrene, recovered from Houston, Texas. SCP-XXXX measures at 12.5 cm in height, wearing a great helm colored in silver and gold. A black cross has been carved in the figurine’s chest. At this time, SCP-XXXX was missing its left arm upon initial recovery. SCP-XXXX is missing its right hand following the actions of Subject 15.

When SCP-XXXX sustains damage (e.g. breaking off an arm, scratching the figure, etc.) the individual responsible for the damage has reported to experience symptoms similar to insomnia for an estimated three days. Reports from Subject 14, Subject 15, and Subject 16 indicate that following these symptoms, the subject becomes able to perceive the presence of an unseen individual, designated as SCP-XXXX-1 who appears at approximately 9:00pm at a distance of three meters to the left of the subject. Through video footage recovered from Room 904-C3, this figure can be identified as a black, humanoid shadow standing at approximately 2.0 meters in height. SCP-XXXX-1 has been designated as harmless as long as Subject 14 remains within 4 meters of SCP-XXXX. See Addendum 3 for more information.
When the subject is wounded, this damage is reflected on SCP-XXXX-1 in reverse, gaining physical form based on the wounds that the subject suffers. The physical form of SCP-XXXX-1 is shown to be a distortion of the subject’s own body. The skin of SCP-XXXX-1 is a translucent grey, showing symptoms of mild necrosis. It appears that SCP-XXXX-1 becomes more active and mobile the more physical it becomes. It has been observed that SCP-XXXX-1 can move on its own at some point of reaching physicality, but has not indicated signs of aggression or threat. The extent to which SCP-XXXX-1 can move is unknown at this time
NAME: ███████ ███ - Subject 13 [DECEASED]
Incident-1: Estimate - June 2016 - Subject-12 was responsible for the missing left arm of SCP-XXXX, after having sat on the figurine. Please note that Subject 12 was the first individual to report the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX.
Description: Subject-13 is a 54-year-old Caucasian male, who had reportedly bought SCP-XXXX from a garage sale near his home. Following Incident-1, Subject-13 suffered several wounds over the course of two years, before reporting the incident and bringing the attention of the SCP Foundation. Subject-13 passed away on March 12, 2018 following a heart attack. SCP-XXXX-1, last seen on the night of March 11, 2018, had developed both arms, the lower left leg, and part of its torso at its last sighting. These developments have been reported to have been visible prior to the containment of SCP-XXXX.
NAME: █████ █████ - Subject 14
Incident-3: November 27, 2016 - Subject-14 was responsible for a large scratch mark on the back of SCP-XXXX, after attempting to play with SCP-XXXX in the road. Please note that Subject-14 was experiencing the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX prior to Subject-13 but was unable to report the incident.
Description: Subject 14 is a 15-year-old African male, who had reportedly discovered SCP-XXXX in the fields near ███████ ██████ ██████. Subject 14 had sold SCP-XXXX to a friend, following the appearance of SCP-XXXX-1, allegedly in an attempt to rid himself of the presence. Unfortunately, as seen in Addendum 2, this led Subject 14 to be held in a psychiatric facility for over a year before being apprehended by SCP personnel. At this time, SCP-XXXX-1 has developed parts of its entire body, but no complete body parts have become physical at this time. In contrast, this version of SCP-XXXX-1 has been reported to be the most active version observed at this time.

Incident-2: November 11, 2017 - Subject-15 was responsible for the missing right hand of SCP-XXXX, after being prompted to break the figurine under the supervision of Dr. Silva.
Description: Subject-15 is a ██-year-old Caucasian female, who was instructed under the supervision of Dr. Silva to break off the right hand of SCP-XXXX. Following Incident-2, Subject-15 has been allowed to inflict self-harm on a monthly basis. Subject-15 passed away on January 11, 2018 following a prolonged exposure to being distanced from SCP-XXXX for an extended duration of time. See Addendum 3 for more information. SCP-XXXX-1, last seen on the night of January 11, 2018, had developed both arms, both legs, part of its torso, and part of its face at its last sighting.
Addendum 1:
ATTENTION!
The following information is necessary for the further containment of SCP-XXXX in the future. Please read the instructions carefully.
Over time, it has been observed that the subject develops an obsession with SCP-XXXX-1. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been given names by their respective subjects, and after almost a week after being exposed to the effects of SCP-XXXX, the subjects develops an intimate connection with SCP-XXXX-1. This connection appears to increase the more physical SCP-XXXX-1 becomes, to the point that their respective subjects become willing to suffer physical pain in order to provide SCP-XXXX-1 with its physical form.
This revelation is not apparent to the subjects, although in time, this may become more obvious to them. Under no circumstances should the nature of SCP-XXXX-1 be revealed to the subjects prematurely. See Addendum 1 for more information.
Addendum 2: INTERVIEWS
The following interviews are conducted concerning Subject 14.
The following interview was conducted on May 7th, 2017 by Dr. Christopher Silva, and the father of Subject 14.
[BEGIN TRANSMISSION]
Dr. Silva: Today is the 7th of May, 2017. The investigation of SCP-XXXX has led to the discovery of Subject 14 on the 2nd of May, 2017. I am speaking to the father of Subject 14 on the circumstances on the anomalous activities surrounding Subject 14 and SCP-XXXX.
Mr. █████: Do you have to call my son that… name?
Dr. Silva: Forgive me, but our procedures require a strict regimen for these interviews.
Mr. █████: A-alright then, I suppose…
Dr. Silva: Mr. █████, was it?
Mr. █████: Yes.
Dr. Silva: Would you mind telling us the events of January 4th, 2016?
Mr. █████: I don't know what happened. I don't think even █████ is sure what happened.
Dr. Silva: A personal account of the event will be enough, thank you.
Mr. █████: (sighs) We… we had come back from the hospital that morning. █████ had recovered from the accident… the surgery wasn't a success, but we were glad that he was adjusting. There was something different about him. I'm not sure what.
Dr. Silva: How so?
Mr. █████: He had been suffering from nightmares for a few weeks. I don't think he'd been sleeping for the past couple of days. I guess, he looked tired all the time. But now, he was… alert. As if he was waiting for something.
(Mr. █████ falls silent)
Dr. Silva: Is something wrong?
Mr. █████: No, no, it's just difficult to remember. Both mentally and emotionally, I guess.
Dr. Silva: Take all the time you need.
Mr. █████: He didn't eat much dinner. He didn't talk. He just waited until it was time to go to bed. It was the first time in weeks that he wanted to go to sleep. He'd been finding excuse after excuse not to go to sleep.
Dr. Silva: Interesting. He didn't want to go to sleep? Our previous subjects reported that sleep was the one thing that they wanted.
Mr. █████: He thought that the nightmares would come if he went to sleep. It didn't help. The nightmares followed him night after night whether or not he was sleeping or not. He was always frightened to be alone in his room in the night.
Dr. Silva: Might I ask? Where was the knight figurine at this time? The toy?
Mr. █████: █████ sold it to his friend. I'm not sure where it was exactly. What does this have to do with my son?
Dr. Silva: I am confirming some suspicions. Forgive me for the interruption. Please, continue.
Mr. █████: The last thing I remember was watching him go into his room and closing the door behind him. I went to sleep a few minutes after that with my wife. We woke up an hour later. We thought that there was a burglar in the house or something, so I went downstairs to investigate and… oh my God… oh God, there was just… so much blood!
Dr. Silva: Take all the time you need Mr. █████. We can end the interview now, if you'd like. Save the rest for another time.
Mr. █████: No, no, I can do this. I have to. It's just… the look on his face. It was so… still. He didn't make a sound. Just holding his finger in the air, looking at it. I was shouting. My wife was crying and on the phone, calling for an ambulance. And he just walked upstairs. I found him there, staring at the corner. I don't know what it was but… there were just two fingers! All rotten, hanging in the air! And █████ was so… it was like he wasn't surprised at all. Like he was expecting it.
Dr. Silva: Did he say anything?
Mr. █████: No… just, "Oh," like… like he knew something.
Dr. Silva: To clarify, you were returning from the hospital, following a procedure to reattach his finger, am I correct?
Mr. █████: Yes, yes, his pinky finger. On his left hand.
Dr. Silva: Note to self: Recover footage from St. Paul's Hospital, Subject 14.
Mr. █████: Sir… what is happening to my son?
Dr. Silva: We are doing everything we can to find out. Thank you for everything today, Mr. █████. We're coming closer to understanding exactly what is happening to your son. We'll contact you once we have more information. But for the time being, I believe it would be best to keep your son on our premises. For his safety.
Mr. █████: I-I'll have to speak to my wife.

The following interview was conducted on May 7th, 2017 by Dr. Christopher Silva, Subject 14, and the father of Subject 14.

Dr. Silva: Today is the 9th of June, 2017. I am speaking to the father of Subject 14 on the circumstances on the anomalous activities surrounding Subject 14 and SCP-XXXX.
Mr. █████: I'm still not comfortable with you calling my son that.
Dr. Silva: Would you be more comfortable with me addressing your son as █████?
Mr. █████: Yes, if you could please.
Dr. Silva: Very well. If you don't mind, I do have some questions for █████
Mr. █████: Of course.
Dr. Silva: Hello, █████. How are you doing here today?
Subject 14: (remains silent)
Dr. Silva: Alright then. █████, you've been seeing someone at night haven't you?
Subject 14: (nods)
Dr. Silva: Does he have a name?
Subject 14: Arthur
Dr. Silva: Arthur, huh? Do you ever talk, to Arthur █████? Does he ever talk to you?
Subject 14: No.
Mr. █████: What does this have to do with my son? What's wrong with my son?!
Dr. Silva: Mr. █████, I promise you, every question I ask your son helps us understand what is happening to your son. The more we can get out of him, the sooner we can finish our investigations. Now, █████, why did you cut off your finger?
Mr. █████: It was an accident!
Dr. Silva: I don't think so, Mr. █████. The first time around, perhaps, but the second time, I do believe that your son intended to sever his finger. Am I correct, █████?
Subject 14: Yes.
Dr. Silva: Why?
Subject 14: I just wanted to see.
Dr. Silva: See what, █████?
Subject 14: I wanted to see if Arthur would grow.
Dr. Silva: You saw the finger, didn't you? That night in the hospital?
Subject 14: (nods)
Mr. █████: Finger? Those fingers were in the hospital too? I didn't see any fingers!
Dr. Silva: Finger. Not fingers. We were unable to recover footage from St. Paul's hospital, but I had made some predictions in these past months. It seems that I was correct.
Mr. █████: What?
Dr. Silva: One moment, Mr. █████. I believe I may have an answer for you soon. █████, you wanted to see if Arthur would have another finger, didn't you?
Subject 14: Yes. I was right.
Dr. Silva: So you were…
Mr. █████: Doctor, please! Please, what is wrong with him? What is happening?!
Dr. Silva: Mr. █████, your son may be in potential danger. I believe that this "Arthur" is a parasite of some sort. It appears that the more harm that comes to your son, the more powerful this being becomes. Those two fingers are the beginning of something we do not understand. It may become dangerous if your son is not careful. I believe that we need to quarantine █████ for the time being -
Mr. █████: Wha- how do we stop it?
Dr. Silva: Listen to me carefully. █████ will have to remain with us for the time being. We cannot allow him to - no wait! Stop!
Mr █████: █████! What are you doing! Put it down!
Dr. Silva: Guards! In here! Guards!

Subject 14 had attempted to harm himself using Dr. Silva's pen unsuccessfully. Unfortunately, in an attempt to stop him, the guards were forced to use excessive force against Subject 14 to subdue him.
It is hypothesized that after the appearance of SCP-XXXX-1 at 9:00pm, Subject 14 will become increasingly aggressive in the presence of others in order to provoke them into harming him. In order to prevent this, Subject 14 must be restrained at 8:00 pm, in order to prevent himself from harming himself, as well as eliminating the need for guards.
Addendum 3: PRECAUTION
For the safety of the subject in question, SCP-XXXX should not be placed further than 4 meters from the subject after 9:00 pm. See the following:
Subject 15 was placed in a separate building from SCP-XXXX for six days. It should be noted that Subject 15 had been allowed to let SCP-XXXX-1 to develop both arms, torso, and face prior to this incident.
During this time, SCP-XXXX-1 became increasingly aggressive and remained at a close distance to Subject 15. Efforts to remove SCP-XXXX-1 had been unsuccessful, and SCP-XXXX-1 remained beside Subject 15 for the duration of its appearance, following her regardless of position. Attempts to block the efforts of SCP-XXXX-1 have also been unsuccessful, as SCP-XXXX-1 appears to appear a minimum distance of 1 ft at all times beside Subject 15. For the duration of this separation, Subject 15 suffered severe symptoms of insomnia and paranoia for three days, before developing both fatigue and fever of 39 degrees Celsius, before leading to convulsions and her eventual death on the sixth day.
This state is possible to be encountered if SCP-XXXX is obscured from view or fixed in place through adhesives or fixed containers. Further experimentation on both Subject 13 and Subject 14 have revealed that damage sustained by the subjects do not reflect on SCP-XXXX-1. This may explain the enhanced state of SCP-XXXX-1 as a defense mechanism.
