SCP-3287

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: As SCP-3287 is able to mimic and "store" physical characteristics, it is paramount all foundation researchers making physical or visual contact with SCP-3287, even through closed-loop video where the SCP cannot possibly observe oneself to be Given a random "Code Word" when entering SCP-3287's containment chamber. this is to be sure that the SCP does not swap places with said researcher. it is mandatory that at least four fully armed guards are stationed at the entrance to SCP-3287's chamber in the event of containment breach.

this protocol was established after the {REDACTED} massacre, when SCP-3287 escaped it's confinement, inciting the deaths of {REDACTED} Clearance level 2 personnel. Within {REDACTED} minutes of being physically mimicked, subjects reported symptoms related to a mild migraine, or dehydration. After that, every {REDACTED} minutes, symptoms worsen, eventually mounting to bleeding from the eyes, ears, and nose, eventually dying from blood loss, earning SCP-3287 the nickname "The Crying Mirror"

SCP-3287 bears resemblance to a brush-backed handheld mirror, circa 1870. SCP-3287 will not move unless damage is imminent, in which case it will make a large popping sound, then appear somewhere else within a close proximity it's last point of contact with the physical plane. It usually appears within 10 feet of where it disappeared, however in the year {Redacted} SCP-3287 "phased" through it's cell and into the right wing's class 4 barracks, warranting a full shutdown and purge of the class 4 personnel inhabiting the wing.

The Specimen was recovered when 2 Foundation Agents, Special Agents Wiwcharyk and Diaz found SCP-3287 in a storage container in the {REDACTED} Museum in East Britain, on February 15, 1947. The museum and the town at which it resided had a long history of illness, which was what originally drew the two agents.

Assessment: SCP-3287 is not to be observed by anyone, short of artistic rendition.
