Containment Procedures

SCP-5073 must be kept in a small 3x3x3 meter containment cell in Room ███ at Site-██. Every Wednesday and Saturday of one month, two janitors are to dust off the tape and mop the floor. 24/7 surveillance is needed in case of raiders or a containment breach. If a containment breach includes SCP-5073, two guards and one scientist must track down where the tape is and carefully set it back into it's containment. If anyone were to steal or misplace SCP-5073, seven guards would be set out to track down the suspect and detain them, whilst containing SCP-5073 once more.

Description

SCP-5073 is an old VHS tape found in a small, demolished house in ██████, Kentucky in 1983. The title of the tape is "Wo Sile," (Wo Sie-yul) which, at the time of it's recording, roughly translates to, "I died." The tape footage when played, shows a man hanging from a tree by a noose. After about 30 seconds, another man is seen eating the insides of the man on the tree, noose still around his neck. Frank Sinatra's, "My Way," plays in the background for about 2 minutes before skipping out several times. The tape ends after 2 minutes and 58 seconds. The location of the tree and building is unknown, as well as where the tape was recorded. Scientist Dr. ████ has formed a conclusion by the name of "The Greater Conclusion." The hypothesis goes that 7/10 subjects remember and will always remember the footage, while the other 3/10 don't remember or had died before the Greater Conclusion.

Testing Procedures

Once every month, 5 to 10 D-class personnel are to be sat in a 10x7x5 meter room containing SCP-5073, a VHS player, and a television. All D-class personnel are sat at a large table side by side to each other. 2 scientists are sat in a small room viewing the subjects on surveillance cameras. After viewing the tape, D-class personnel are interviewed. The scientists take notes and analyze them. After research about the information given, the scientists would form a conclusion. In the year of 1998, all of the scientists came together and formed one large conclusion. In 20 more years, the process will happen again.

The Greater Conclusion of SCP-5073 (in all quotes)

"After 26 scientists tested 163 subjects, the tape of Wo Sile is classified as Safe and is to be kept in Room ███ at Site-██. We have formed our Greater Conclusion that 104 out of 163 subjects has not forgotten and will not forget about the tape, while the other 59 has forgotten or had died before the Greater Conclusion. Signed, Dr. ████."
