Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to remain in a secure locker at Site-275 when not being tested. After Incident XXXX-346, all tests must be approved by staff with Level 4 clearance or above, and be overseen by staff with Level 3 clearance or above. Personnel with Level 3 clearance or above who wish to view their own instance of SCP-XXXX must be approved by an O5 member.
Personnel who have viewed their own instance of SCP-XXXX are to have their metal state evaluated. If they are found to have been affected by viewing their timeline, Class-A amnestics will be administered.
Testing of SCP-XXXX on other anomalous entities has been suspended by the O5 council until further notice.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a scroll of paper held by two oak rollers. SCP-XXXX has been unable to be damaged through current means. When closed, SCP-XXXX is estimated to be approximately 7 meters long. When SCP-XXXX is unwound, it reveals a timeline. The timeline is then classified as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 depicts significant events and times in the lifetime of the last sentient entity to make contact with SCP-XXXX, classified SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-1 will display dates and descriptions of significant events in SCP-XXXX-2’s life, regardless of whether they have occurred yet or not.
SCP-XXXX-1’s length is altered depending on how long SCP-XXXX-2 will live, but the size of SCP-XXXX before opened always remains the same. Lengths of SCP-XXXX-1 instances have ranged from 27cm to ███████. SCP-XXXX-1 will manifest in the primary language of SCP-XXXX-2. Bilingual instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have occasionally shown to have multiple languages present in SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 instances will always have the date of conception and death. The description of SCP-XXXX-2’s death will be notably longer than other descriptions in SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX does not require SCP-XXXX-2 to be alive in order to change to a new SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Approximately 1.374cm3 of DNA must be present on SCP-XXXX while rolled up in order to achieve a new SCP-XXXX-1 instance. A year per meter ratio has proven impossible to collect as it changes between SCP-XXXX-1 instances. A specific level of intelligence in order to create an SCP-XXXX-1 instance have not been determined, but all SCP-XXXX-2 instances so far have been capable of understanding language.
After the length of 25.63 meters past the current date, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to become more vague in its descriptions. After 97.87 meters the descriptions will deteriorate into single words. However, death will always remain detailed the same amount.
At the time of writing, no predictions made by SCP-XXXX have been incorrect.
