SCP:4367

Item #: SCP-4367

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: When entering SCP-4367’s containment area, subjects are advised not to go near or come in physical contact with SCP-4367 unless instructed to do so. All subject interaction with Scp-4367 should be monitored by at least one Staff member.
Any and all D-Class Personell may enter if given permission or orders from Level-3 Staff but can only do so at-least once per month to prevent a cycle from happening. SCP-4367 must be visited and activated at-least once every five (5) weeks. Any strange behaviour or cases of SCP-4367 being missing from or being seen outside of containment area should be reported to Staff immediately.

Description: SCP-4367 is a 1.2m tall, 10kg lever harp. Its components and material seem to be not much different from a regular lever harp; made mostly out of walnut wood, except for a layer of spruce for its soundbox and tuning pins, bridge pins, sharping levers and 34 strings.

Whenever any sentient and moving life ( humans, animals and in some cases even different species of bugs ) is in hearing range of SCP-4367, it will begin to compose tunes by itself, at this stage all affected subjects will stop what they’re doing and enter a drowsy state until falling unconscious two-five (2-5) minutes later. After this SCP-4367 will continue to play for up to several hours.

After stopping, all subjects will eventually start regaining consciousness and go back to what they were doing. After being affected by SCP-4367, subjects will wake up confused and have little memory of what was going on a few minutes prior to being in contact with SCP-4367 but will feel in a generally relaxed and positive mood. SCP-4367 also seems to be capable of relieving different types of physical pain or stress, including headaches, depression and PTSD with long term effects and will cause the subject to feel more active and perform better at work.

The songs that SCP-4367 plays are entirely unknown and unfamiliar to anything recorded or anyone who studies in music but are described as being endearing and hypnotic.
After 24 hours of being affected by SCP-4367, subjects will feel a tempting desire to come back and fall asleep to its music again. After each visit the temptation will grow stronger into a compulsion and how long they are put unconscious can grow up to more than several days. For this reason is why subjects are restricted to only being allowed to enter at-least once a month.

SCP-4367 has shown to be capable of healing itself from any damage inflicted onto it, including scratches and small burns in a matter of seconds. However, for more major damage like a snapped string or parts of SCP-4367 being removed or broken off, an orange liquid substance will come out of Scp-4367 and stretch out until it has attached itself to the damaged pieces and will bring them back to their original place and form, this process is slow and can take up to more than ten (10) minutes depending on the damage. If the piece is not possible to reach to or has been completely destroyed, SCP-4367 will generate new parts to replace what’s missing. What the liquid substance is is currently unknown, however, reports describe it as smelling faintly like tree sap and feeling very sticky to touch, but can easily be rinsed off with water.

If the damage inflicted on SCP-4367 was caused by a human subject, whether accidental or intentional, the subject will begin to experience headaches that will grow more painful as time progresses. During this, SCP-4367 will not play any tunes whenever the subject visits. After one (1) week the headache will become increasingly severe, symptoms will include: nausea, vomiting, sudden rise and fall in body temperature and numbness. After a month, the subject will fall into a comma and a few days later die due to pressure being put against the frontal lobe to the point of shutting down. As of now, there are no treatments or medication that can cure or relieve the symptoms of these headaches.

If SCP-4367 hasn’t been visited and listened to in 5 weeks, it will teleport and change position to the nearest populated area available. [See Addendum SCP-4367-A]
