Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored at Site-19, in a 5x5 room. It is allowed to be relocated for temporary use by staff if cleared by Level 3 personnel. SCP-XXXX is to be put back into its room upon finishing. The room containing SCP-XXXX shall be unlocked if said SCP is not in use unless said otherwise by personnel with proper clearance.

SCP-XXXX is a sentient and intelligent T.V. If SCP-XXXX does not get used, it is prone to get lonely over time. If this happens, it will try to get someone's attention. If ignored for long enough, SCP-XXXX will get distressed and frustrated, leading to technical issues happening in any and all nearby electronics. How SCP-XXXX is able to do this is unknown. The duration will last until effected electronic leaves SCP-XXXX's range or until someone uses said SCP. The extent of the damage that SCP-XXXX can cause to electronics is unknown. The extent of what electronics can be effected is also yet to be determined. To avoid this, at least one staff member is required to do routine usage of SCP-XXXX at least once every two (2) days, allowing SCP-XXXX to entertain someone.

Routine usage also involves routine maintenance checks. A standerd T.V. repair guide for the make and model of SCP-XXXX will be provided.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1983 Teknika CRT T.V. It has a wood case finish. SCP-XXXX has been described on numerous occasions to have a "personality". This is best described as sociable. As aforementioned, SCP-XXXX will get lonely after time and cause electronic interference.

SCP-XXXX was found on [redacted], [redacted], 2015 in [redacted], NH, U.S.A. It was brought to SCP Foundation's attention by the owner, claiming "I don't know. Didn't have the heart to just throw it away, I guess."

SCP-XXXX runs on the traditional plug and outlet that goes with said make and model. Additional plugs in the rear of the SCP supports current day accessories, i.e. current video game consoles, Blu-ray players, etc. Weather this was a custom job or if it was by the SCP itself is unknown. Despite the type of screen it has, the quality is that of a current day television. Upon interior inspection, SCP=XXXX is constructed exactly like any other television of same make and model. SCP-XXXX started working again once reassembled. SCP-XXXX can only function if it has a power source to plug into. Additional compatible power sources is currently being researched.

The way SCP-XXXX communicates is through what appears to be a collection of audio and video. Said audio and video consists of, but not limited to, movies, television shows, video games, radio broadcasts, and streaming based internet footage. SCP-XXXX even has access to footage of SCP files as a means to communicate. How it has access to all this is unknown. The extent to what SCP-XXXX has access to is unknown. SCP-XXXX uses the combined footage as a means to communicate by piecing them together as a reaction, response, question, etc. It's intelligence is high enough to carry out in-depth conversations about a variety of subjects. Tested subjects of conversation have been religion, politics, interests, and personal opinions to name a few. All were able to be conversed without problem by SCP-XXXX. When playing just audio, a generic "Please Stand By" image will appear on screen while the audio plays. When SCP-XXXX is idling while on, an SMPTE color bars screen will be displayed until it is in use as a television or if it is currently communicating.

When SCP-XXXX entertains, it does so through traditional T.V. means. Alternatively, one can allow SCP-XXXX to entertain by conversation or by self created images and audio. SCP-XXXX's self created images and audio is currently being explored.

SCP-XXXX expresses joy when someone comes to interact with it. The more people warrants more overall happiness. SCP-XXXX has expressed that it has a fondness over SCP-131-A and SCP-131-B.
