Item #: SCP-XXXX
Item Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained with the use of no more and no less than 4 Scranton Reality Anchors (SRAs) placed around it at site-101. If any fault is found within the SRAs, they are to be immediately reported to the site-director and repaired immediately. All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 who attempt to escape SCP-XXXX-1 are to be apprehended and brought in for questioning. If, for whatever this is not possible, they are to be terminated. The façade of dense clouding and fog must be kept at all times as to not arouse suspicion about the existence of SCP-XXXX to civilian populations.
A Class C perimeter is to surround SCP-XXXX-1 with a point of entry at every road that connects to SCP-XXXX-1. Three guards are to be placed every 1km. And five guards must be at all entry points. All on site guards are to be equipped with standard weaponry. A wall of concrete has been built beneath the perimeter of the gate, the wall reaches of 20 metres depth with a thickness of 10 cm. The wall is to be monitored with the use of sonar technology, any regions of the wall that have been eroded or damaged are to be repaired as soon as possible and focus to be placed on that section of the wall until it has returned to an acceptable quality.
All personnel working with SCP-XXXX are to be put through three months of cognitive training prior to transfer to Site-101. Any personnel that are transferred from Site-101 are to be applied with class-A amnestics and should not work on any other site containing any anomalous entity that may act as a cognitohazard for a minimum of 3 months. Directly viewing SCP-XXXX is completely prohibited. Any personnel found observing SCP-XXXX are to be provided Class-A amnestics. To prevent public discovery, all roads have been diverted away from SCP-XXXX-1 and the paths of all air-based modes of transport have also been diverted. Any drone, aeroplane or any other such object that comes within 250m of SCP-XXXX that is not 300 m above SCP-XXXX is to be immediately shot down.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous entity located above the town of Tafiqa, 3 kilometres west of the Lake Balkhash in Kazakhstan. SCP-XXXX constantly emits a usually low pitched noise at constantly changing frequencies, as a result radios outside of SCP-XXXX's sphere of influence will sometimes pick up signals from SCP-XXXX. Signals picked up will always produce the same sound emitted by SCP-XXXX.
With the use of satellites, the size of SCP-XXXX has been determined to be around 8km2 in size and is around 5 km above the ground. Any air based modes of transportation will not be effected by SCP-XXXX provided they leave from outside SCP-XXXX-1 and do not come within 250m of SCP-XXXX. Since SCP-XXXX first appeared, the entity continuously produced a mist for 3 days, until the mist covered the entirety of the sky of SCP-XXXX-1, the mist is thick enough to make it look as if SCP-XXXX-1 is in a constant state of night.
If SCP-XXXX is observed through cameras, picture or video, it will not have any effect on the viewer.
Collected skin samples and autopsies show that the skin of SCP-XXXX-1 is made out of Grey Matter and White Matter. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 seem to communicate in a series of clicks and whistles. So far all attempts to translate have been met with failure. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are hostile but have a limited viewing range of 3 metres. Cryogenic and Thermogenic weaponry are the most effective against instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX has a sphere of influence over the town (dubbed as SCP-XXXX-2) where its anomalous effects are noticeable. Once outside of SCP-XXXX-2, any onlooker will not notice anything out of the ordinary with the town or the sky above it.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a town that covers an area of 15km. Buildings located inside of SCP-XXXX-2 will be subject to changes in their architecture resulting in said buildings having an appearance similar to that of High Gothic architecture. Older buildings have experienced rapid growth of Fungi and mould (dubbed SCP-XXXX-3) on both exteriors and interiors. Research has revealed that the Fungi and mould produced are of an unknown species.
Buildings inside of SCP-XXXX-2 have been found to have numerous subterranean passages growing beneath them. These tunnels have been found to be able to grow through soil and any other soft substances at a rate of 3 metres per day, however, tunnels cannot grow through hard substances (i.e. rock, concrete, lead etc..) therefore halting its spread. Parts of SCP-XXXX-2 (mainly stairs and areas with corners) act in ways that seem to break all known laws of geometry including but not limited to acute angles that behave as obtuse, obtuse angles that behave as reflex, stairs that appear to move upwards but lead downwards. The behaviours of certain corners and stairs vary though the majority tend to look and act as normal.
SCP-XXXX appeared on the 5/10/1984. Reports of strange occurrences near the Lake Balkhash such as all attempts to communicate with SCP-XXXX-2 through mobile or wireless being met with failure. After multiple search teams failed to return from SCP-XXXX-2, the foundation was contacted and appropriate action and containment measures were taken.
