The eastern coastline of SCP-XXXX.

Special Containment Procedures

SCP-XXXX's size makes it feasibly impossible to contain within a physical apparatus. Under no circumstances shall any Foundation personnel approach SCP-XXXX without provided ear protection. Observation of SCP-XXXX — if necessary — must be conducted via drone footage. However, human observation may be performed by personnel who are adequately rated to handle cognitohazardous subjects.

The perimeter of SCP-XXXX has been contained and quarantined by Foundation ships. All trespassers that may attempt to enter the proximity of SCP-XXXX are to be detained immediately and administered Class-3 amnesics. Any on-site personnel that enter the proximity of SCP-XXXX without direct permission from local security teams are to be seized and rerouted to Site-33 for a mandatory mental evaluation. If they do not show signs of recovery, they will be placed on a permanent suicide watch.

Description

The Foundation was first informed of the existence of SCP-XXXX directly through undisclosed channels by the Canadian Government. These reports regard a series of disappearances involving seafarers and sea craft off of the Canadian western coast. These reports were disclosed to the Foundation after a Canadian coast guard vessel vanished shortly after being assigned to investigate these disappearances.

SCP-XXXX is an anomaly that exists off the coast of Moresby Island in the British Columbia, Canada. SCP-XXXX is a 2km. x 3km. area of land shrouded in a perpetual cloud of fog and mist. SCP-XXXX is virtually undetectable by satellite, radar and sonar equipment, and can only be identified visually. The isle has been noted to be covered in a variety of flora including coniferous pine trees and other vegetation; however, no animal specimens have been seen on or within a close proximity of SCP-XXXX.

Despite no presence of technology or civilization within SCP-XXXX, a sound similar to a foghorn can be heard all the way from approx. 4km. off of the isle's coastline. This "foghorn" sound will repeat in 2-hour intervals and can be heard thrice before repeating again. This sound — when detected by a human — will cause them to be immediately drawn towards the isle's coastline, regardless of if they pilot any form of sea craft. Subjects that have heard SCP-XXXX's foghorn will then attempt to commit suicide by ramming themselves or their sea craft into the isle's rocky shores. No personnel that have entered the perimeter of SCP-XXXX's cognitohazardous effects have fully recovered; those who do not find other ways to self-terminate will suffer from symptoms of psychosis or acute schizophrenia.
