SCP-5234_PortraitUPDATED

SCP-5234-A, taken shortly after containment.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5234 is to be contained within a 10 x 10 x 10 m containment cell, with an observation deck for Foundation personnel to conduct studies of instances of SCP-5234-B. Entrance to SCP-5234’s cell is limited to the observation deck, and under no circumstances are any personnel allowed entry to SCP-5234’s cell through the main entrance.

Description: SCP-5234 appears to be a bubble machine, branded as the "Dolphin Bubble Machine", manufactured by toy company Kidzlane®, measuring at 23 x 23 x 18 cm. SCP-5234 utilises a reservoir in its mouth, which can house six (6) fluid ounces of liquid, alongside a set of ten (10) bubble wands fixed on a point. SCP-5234-A comes with a bottle containing eight (8) liquid ounces of an opaque, viscous cyan liquid resembling soap film, which Dr. Hobbs refers to as ‘world bubble sauce' for convenience, which refills itself daily.

SCP-5234-A has demonstrated incredible durability, able to withstand ██ tonnes of force, and lacks certain features advertised on its packaging and its standard counterpart, including an electronic motor and battery compartment. The bubble wands, therefore, remain stationary, but can be moved by light physical force.

When SCP-5234 is powered on, it will begin to vibrate violently. However, if the reservoir is filled with a sufficient amount of world bubble sauce, approximately 6 fluid ounces, SCP-5234-B will proceed with the previously mentioned behaviour, but will begin to produce an instance of SCP-5234-B

SCP-5234-B are bubbles produced by SCP-5234-A when powered on. Instances of 5234-B have been observed to pursue entities within their confinement. and exhibits traits of sentience, including reaction to external stimuli and the gradual increase of movement speed. Instances of SCP-5234-B have the anomalous ability to allow wavelengths of sound to travel via the produced instance. Individuals who come in physical contact with an instance of SCP-5234-B through physical interaction will become recipients of the produced sound, allowing them to hear said sound being emitted from a disembodied source.

Instances of SCP-5234-B come in a variety of colours across the colour spectrum, from red to violet, hypothesised to differ based on wavelength of sound. Instances of SCP-5234-B have also been observed to be produced in groups, rather than through a single instance, and combine through a process referred to as 'Bubble Tagging'.

"Typically, a single instance will be produced, followed by other instances. These instances, rather than gravitating towards entities within the area, will travel towards the initial bubble, fusing with it, causing the initial bubble to grow larger.

Essentially, each bubble represents a second of sound that hits the toy, and they connect to form a chain. That chain, is one big, big bubble, like a sentence." - Dr. Roscoe Hobbs, briefing junior researchers on the concept of bubble tagging.

Experiments were performed in order to study the behaviour of SCP-5234-B instances, including an additional experiment to study the anomalous nature of the bubble wands, listed in the table below:

Addendum 5234-01: Foundation personnel have managed to initiate contact, through SCP-5234-A, with three entities, subsequently referred to as SCP-5234-Spectre, SCP-5234-Warthog and SCP-5234-Hammer:

Follow up interviews with all three individuals have been requested by Dr. Roscoe Hobbs, who also requests conducting the interviews himself. Request is currently pending approval.

Addendum 5234-02-B: Interviews with each of the three entities have been conducted, and have their transcripts listed below:
