Item: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently in a dormant stage. SCP-XXXX must be contained in a 4x4x4 transparent glass box with a temperature of less than -100% Celsius. All authorized personnel is only allowed within 3 meters from SCP-XXXX to inspect any abnormal behavior of the subject or any cracks within the glass. Unauthorized personnel is allowed only within 5 meters from SCP-XXXX accompanied with two authorized personnel. If SCP-XXXX showed any signs of abnormal behavior, the personnel must increase the temperature up to -500% Celsius for one week. All personnel is required to wear their gas mask at all times when inspecting SCP-XXXX. Any samples from SCP-999 are forbidden within a kilometer radius. Though SCP-XXXX showed no auditory sense, it is still advised to have minimal to no noise when inspecting SCP-XXXX.
These are the following guidelines in cases of containment breach:
All personnel must never have skin contact with SCP-XXXX to avoid any permanent psychological effects.
All personnel that is not wearing any gas mask are required to stay away from the purplish gas that was released by SCP-XXXX to avoid mild psychological effects.
Only liquid nitrogen is capable of incapacitating SCP-XXXX.
All personnel that was directly or indirectly exposed from gas that was released by SCP-XXXX must be immediately decontaminated before sending them to SCP-999’s pen.
All personnel that had a skin contact with SCP-XXXX must be immediately decontaminated and sent to the psychiatric ward for further evaluation.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a failed experiment done by the SCP Foundation to make an antidepressant drug from SCP-999. SCP-999 appears to be a small, circular, gelatinous mass of semi-translucent purple slime weighing about 1 kg (2.20 lbs) with a consistency like that of SCP-999. The subject is only able to change its size by integration of a sample from SCP-999, it’s currently at the size of an adult fist. Similar to SCP-999, SCP-XXXX is oil-based, but consists of some chemical only known to the SCP Foundation namely; ██████, ████████, and ████████. Like SCP-999, the subject appears to have no organs to speak of.
The surface of SCP-999 emits a purplish gas with an unpleasant odor. Recorded scents include decaying flesh, feces, and sewer gas. SCP-XXXX from time to time emits a grumbling sound though it is still unknown why the subject is doing it. Those who were exposed by the purplish gas had shown symptoms of severe depression, uncontrollable rage, and suicidal tendencies. However, all the effects from the purplish gas are curable by the interaction with SCP-999. Skin contact with SCP-XXXX, however, has an irreversible psychological effect that even SCP-999 is unable to cure. The effects are varied from the degeneration of the IQ or EQ, inability or lost of common virtues, and complete insanity of the people who had a complete or partial skin contact with SCP-XXXX. Subject showed the capability to sense a sample of SCP-999 from a kilometer radius and would immediately find its way towards it. Though it is still unknown how the subject is capable of sensing a sample or SCP-999. SCP-XXXX seems to have no interest in the human or other creatures. Unlike SCP-999, the subject showed no sign of capability to ingest food.
SCP-XXXX showed no sign of intelligence. It is hypothesized that SCP-XXXX is a zombie-like creature with the only interest on infecting or integrating with SCP-999. Other experiments which involve SCP-999 are currently suspended and evaluated. The attempt to exterminate SCP-XXXX was unsuccessful. Though the attempt was a failure, the personnel was able to learn that liquid nitrogen is capable of incapacitating SCP-XXXX and the subject would emit more purple gas in hot places of more than 100% Celsius. It is also learned that SCP-XXXX has no corrosive effects so simple plastic gloves could be used to retrieved SCP-XXXX.
Because of the danger that SCP-XXXX posed on SCP-999 and its psychological effects, it is proposed for SCP-999 to be transferred to a site in Antarctic or Arctic region. However, the proposal has not yet affirmed.
